Welcome to our Hipcamp in Madison, Virginia—a quiet, scenic spot designed for those who want to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Both sites are located in a lower field, intentionally spaced to feel like separate private retreats, giving you room to unwind while staying connected to the natural surroundings. Each site includes a simple, thoughtfully built deck structure with a roof, offering a bit of shelter while still keeping you close to the elements. (Please note: camping gear such as tents and sleeping equipment is not provided.) There is also plenty of space if you prefer to camp directly on the ground. Solar lights provide a soft glow in the evenings, and hammock hooks are available for relaxing among the trees. This property is also part of how we’re raising our sons, Ryker and Crew. They help maintain the sites and care for the land—learning the value of hard work, responsibility, and how to interact thoughtfully with guests. If you stay with us, you may see them around or be greeted when you arrive. Your visit helps give them real opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills, and take pride in meaningful work. Firewood is available on-site for purchase from a local friend (cash or Venmo), making it easy to enjoy a campfire during your stay. Please note that parties or additional unregistered guests are not permitted under any circumstances. You will be immediately asked to leave and additional fines will apply. The property is shaped by two beautiful waterways—the Robinson River and White Oak Run—which meet nearby and create a peaceful, ever-changing landscape. Fishing is allowed with a valid Virginia fishing license; you may have better luck exploring upstream or downstream, as water depth near the sites is often around 2–3 feet. Wildlife is abundant here, making it a great place for birdwatching, photography, or simply observing nature. Hunting is not permitted, helping preserve a safe environment for the animals that call this land home. Kayaking is best in the spring when water levels average at least 2.75 feet. During drier summer months, the river becomes shallow <1', especially near the campsites. We hope your time here offers a chance to rest, reconnect, and experience the beauty of the land.

Not to mention, all of the Hipcamp proceeds go directly into a savings account for their futures! Description: Nestled along the Robinson River, our campsite offers serene riverside bliss. It's a quick walk from the parking lot, providing easy access. With the river nearby, you can enjoy water activities and the beauty of the flowing waters right from your campsite. Locally you can enjoy ample hiking, historic attractions and wineries/breweries. Walnut Grove (Site 1) is closer to the parking lot and porta potty. **FYI: the porta potty is not available during off-season: December-February**. The ground, outside of the structure, has more dirt than grass and remains relatively shady. This site is not suitable for an RV.

Description: Birch Bank (Site 2) requires a bit of a longer walk to the camp site (less than 2 minutes) as it is located roughly one football field from Walnut Grove (Site 1) and the porta potty. **FYI: the porta potty is not available during off-season: December-February** See the map for details. The ground is flat and only drivable during dry weather as the road does not continue down to Birch Bank. We kindly ask that you do not drive through the tall grass as the fields are hayed by a local farmer. If the ground is dry, please drive all the way down the gravel road and run parallel with the river where the grass is mowed. This site is not suitable for RVs. Birch Bank has a better view in our opinion and feels more private. The view of the neighbors field can be enjoyed from this site where you will often spot wildlife. Birch Bank (Site 2) is grassier and traditionally more sunny than Walnut Grove (Site 1), but we mow the area frequently. This site requires a longer walk from the shared porta potty located in the parking lot. There is a private river access, including a black rope to hold on to for safety. Keep in mind, this access is a very short walk away (towards the parking lot) on purpose to provide adequate space for kids and pets to play without obvious access from Birch Bank.

Fantastic spot right on the river! Well maintained with a great fire pit, shelter, and picnic table. There were other campers in the other site but could not hear and actually barely see them. Wonderful spot. My wife, son and dog will be back!

This is the perfect campsite. You have hundreds of feet of private river frontage/riverview, great raised and covered structure that’s large enough to set up a large tent, a couple of small tents or multiple spots to hang hammocks. Plenty of trees to hammock from as well. Great fire pit and there’s an extremely clean Porta-Potty next to the large parking lot.

The site was outstanding, very spacious and private. Also the structure was new and well built with a solid picnic table and top tier fire pit to match.. Can't forget about having a clean well stocked restroom because we all know that no one likes the alternatives lol Overall the layout was clearly put together by people with an understanding and consideration of of basic necessities to enhance the experience. The view needed no assistance but I will add that the river bank brush was also well maintained even though I didn't have a chance to get in yet Thank you for sharing your property with us we look forward to coming back soon

Tent camping at Two Rivers was a great time for us and our dog! Kari gave clear and helpful instructions for getting to and navigating the property. Its such a beautiful place, especially in the fall. The camp stove at site 1 made cooking over the fire easy and fun. I appreciate the raised shelter built at the site, it provides great protection from falling hickory nuts. The campsites are far enough away from each other to be able to get some privacy. Super clean porta potty too! This site puts you in proximity of some awesome parks and hiking spots as well. This place is a gem!

My wife and I loved Two Rivers. We loved the covered space for hammock chilling. Great firepit for cooking, inexpensive firewood provided came in handy. Spacious and private, didn’t hear anything from the other campsite and couldn’t really see it either. Our pup loved it too!

Camping for our Anniversary!

My husband and I only had time for one night, which is always worth it in our world for a bit of outdoors time. This spot was perfect! We celebrated two years married, had a nice fire, and some good campfire grilled burgers. Our dog was able to be off leash. She loved being able to explore the surroundings. The view was extraordinary, very peaceful, and overall quiet. Would stay here again.

Beautiful and secluded spot. Perfect for a couples getaway. Plenty of firewood and loved having the tent elevated and protected from the elements so that we didn’t have to put on the rain layer. Was able to pull the car right up which made for super easy car camping. And the firepit was well maintained. Would come back!

I had a great experience camping here! The location was easy to find and very convenient, with a gas station and Dollar General just a 5-minute drive away. The campsite itself offered excellent privacy, which was perfect since we brought our two dogs—they were able to run around freely and enjoy the space. The deck was a really nice touch and big enough to fit our large tent comfortably. The only downside was the access to the river. It was very steep and felt a bit unsafe to go down, which made it harder to enjoy the water as much as we’d hoped. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet and private camping experience.

Excellent for Families and Fishing!

Just went for the second time and had a fantastic time. The site was clean and the grass around it was well maintained. Firewood was fully stocked as well. The river was in perfect condition for fly fishing and I got out in the morning and fished alongside a Green Heron. This from now on is my go-to family camping site and perfect for kids who have not camped before. Enough amenities to feel safe and comfortable for them, but not too much to where it feels like a busy campground. The other site isn’t too far but has the perfect distance, you can see briefly but not hear the other guests so each site feels perfectly private.

Great spot!! Absolutely will be back. First time here and took our toddler for our first camping trip. What amazed us is that sound did not travel between sites - our toddler had a night terror and when I went to apologize to the other family - they had not been able to hear it. Loved having the little pergola bc we had a few scattered storms and the fire pit grill set up they have is amazing. We liked site 2 also bc it felt less buggy and had larger open space for the dogs to roam but slightly less shade. If I had a big group with kids I’d take over one site with the kiddos and one for the adults without kids just due to nighttime campfire chit chat. River entrance : pros and cons depending on how much you’ll be in and out of the river during the day! Nice to have multiple river entrances because some one is easier than the other. Campsite 2 doesn’t have “immediate” river access like #1 does - which was nice to limit our dogs from running amok and make sure the kids were safe. There is an easy walk down 30 ft from the site - so very close, then another even shallower one towards site #1. If you aren’t staying at that site it can feel slightly intrusive on the campers at site 1.

We stayed at Site #1. It’s a beautiful property, easy to get to, the river is fantastic for the boys and our dog to play in. My son even caught a smallmouth!! Kari was very responsive to any questions - we would definitely visit again.

We had such a great stay! Falling asleep to the sound of flowing water was very peaceful. Beautiful place to bird watch and also see the stars at night. This was our second time staying here and we plan to return as often as possible.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights with our 3 pups. The views are beautiful and directions to the site were easy to follow. Site 2 was perfect! Our three pups loved having an open area to play, run around, and swim in the river. Plus, it’s just a short drive to Shenandoah National Park, which was a huge bonus. I would absolutely stay here again!

Loved the place! Nice and quiet, overlooking the river. Good quality fire pit with built in grate came in very useful. The elevated platform with roof helps with shade and keeping the critters/bugs out. There was also plenty of shade coverage provided by the trees at this site. The porta potty was clean and well maintained. It was nice to be able to let my doggo run around leash free and enjoy nature. Would definitely camp here again!
