We are a small scale farm and nursery specializing in a wide selection of garden plants including flowers, herbs, vegetables and hanging baskets. As part of our commitment to local agriculture, we also produce and sell seasonal produce, cut flowers and eggs, as well as raise a variety of livestock. We love to share information and open our farm to others, so we frequently do tours and teach classes on a variety of subjects related to what we do on our 35 acre farm.  Learn more about this land: This cozy cabin is nestled next to a stream on our 35 acre farm. Make yourself at home in nature with 2 beds, a comfy pull-out couch, covered front porch and a reading desk and generous dining table. This small cabin is great for those wanting to experience nature and farm life with a little more comfort and amenities than tent-camping.  We are a chemical-free farm and nursery.  Our grazing livestock may be visible in nearby fields, as the cabin is situated in the midst of our small, diversified working farm. Things to do nearby:  Yellow Creek State Park is located 7 miles down the road offering hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing and much more!  The Ghost Town Trail is accessible via the Heshbon trailhead, just 5 miles down the road. A scenic biking and walking trail along the Blacklick Creek.  The quaint town of Indiana, PA is just a 15 minute drive from the cabin. A college town providing great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, and a farmers market.   Other nearby attractions include the historic town of Punxsutawney, the quaint Amish town of Smicksburg and the charming town of Ligonier. Additional Things to Note:  The cabin is located at Nature Works Farm and Nursery, a small, diversified farm where we live and work. You can see our home from the cabin and will most likely see us out and about. We will give you the most privacy as we possibly can, but we are also open to interacting with you if you'd like to learn about and tour the farm.  One hour informational tours are available upon request for an additional fee. We have cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that are mostly in fenced pastures, however, the chickens and ducks tend to wander where ever they'd like :)  From April-July, our greenhouses are open to the public as a retail plant nursery, so expect to see and hear cars and people coming and going from our main parking lot, located about 100 yards uphill from the cabin. Additionally, the cabin is situated about 200 yards from the main road, so car and truck traffic can be heard.   A private composting toilet is located just outside the cabin. Sawdust is provided, just add a scoop of sawdust before and after you go!  Pillows and linens are provided for all beds.   There is no electricity or running water, however LED battery lights are situated around the cabin and there is a garden hose available to use for rinsing hands and dishes. In the event of freezing temperatures, water will not be available. There is very limited cell phone service on our farm and no access to the internet at the cabin.

Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm
Unplug, recharge
We had the loveliest stay here! I definitely did not get service and my phone died but I didn’t even care! Indeed, you can hear some sounds from the road but when you have a crackling fire and the babbling brook behind you it’s easy to tune out. Inside the cabin was a thoughtful preparation of dishes and cookware for our use (thank you!) The cabin was clean and comfy and just the perfect amount of space. I loved pulling out a book from the shelf and learning more about gardening. 10/10 would recommend!

Friendly Family and Pets
This place was awesome!!!! First of all Cassandra and her family are very sweet and friendly. They made our stay so comfortable and helped to address any questions we had. They have friendly pets, goats, cats, dog, chicken, pigs. We had really good time on the cozy cabin. Also nearby they have good sightseeing places like Buttermilk Falls and Yellow Creek State Park!!! We would definitely come back here next year...

Very cozy and cute cabin
The cabin was so perfect. Under some trees, right by a creek, and well stocked. Our daughter loved the chickens and went to talk to them multiple times, she got a huge kick out of the pigs, goats, and sheep too. Once the sun went down we visited the pond and saw so many bats. I’ve never seen so many fireflies either. Highly recommend! The host family was so kind and accommodating.

Little Cottage on the farm
We loved our stay at Nature Works Farm! A peaceful quaint cottage in the field next to a creek. Plenty of space in the cabin, hardly noticed not having electricity or plumbing. A great break from civilization. We felt right at home and comfortable. The farm tour was amazing! Highly recommend!!

Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm
This is our 3rd time back at the Cozy Cabin, we love it so much! Cassandra & Bob are friendly and helpful hosts and their spot is just lovely. Our little kids like sitting by the wee stream right by the cabin, there's a fire ring & grill grate close to cabin, and the cabin itself is simple and sweet. The covered porch is great for eating outside and they provide all the basic necessities. Recommend bringing your own firewood & starters if you have your heart set on a fire! There is plenty to do in the area (trails/swimming, etc) and a cute college town nearby. Check it out.

Great stay!
We loved our stay in the cozy cabin - cozy indeed! Waking up and walking around the farm was such a joy, especially to see the baby piglets. Directions were clear, everything was clean, and the composting toilet was awesome and easy to use. Nearby Indiana, PA has such cute cafes and is an easy 15 min drive. Would recommend!

10/10 Would Stay Again!
Wow! What can I say? The Cozy Cabin was the perfect weekend getaway for us to test the camping waters with our family of 5. We quarantined and cyber schooled all year and I was beyond thankful to finally unplug ourselves from screens. We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. The hosts were absolutely lovely - more than accomodating, the cabin was stocked as mentioned, inlcuding a lovely guestbook that we enjoyed reading other's experiences and having that connection. I wished we could have stayed longer and done the tour (more incentive for a return trip!), and I am having non-buyers remorse over their rhubarb plants.

Staying at the Cozy Cabin at the Nature Works farm was an absolutely wonderful experience. Both Bob and Cassandra were very welcoming, and the farm was absolutely beautiful. We loved being able to visit all of the animals and get some fresh air. We also loved exploring Indiana, PA and really appreciated our hosts’ suggestion about a local outdoor concert! We hope to come back again in the future! :)

We went for a chilly weekend with two adults and two little kids. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a hike at nearby Yellow Creek State Park and really enjoyed the farm tour. Cassandra and Bob care for their land and animals in such a thoughtful way. The greenhouses were beautiful and our kids enjoyed the baby goat kids. We plan to come back when it's a little warmer out.

A Great Place to Be
We had a such a wonderful time on the farm! The cabin was cozy and the amenities were exactly as described. Cassandra and Bob were so welcoming. The Ghosttown trail head is 10 minutes away and full of history. We recommend the farm tour - passion is contagious and we are back at home and still inspired!

Perfect weekend recharge
Had a great time at the Cozy Cabin. Everything I wanted and needed for a brief 48 hour getaway! Might even take my family next time (or maybe not - it was VERY relaxing!). Cassandra and Bob were very nice, and the eggs were delicious. Also took the farm tour, and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our rambling discussions with Bob while meeting the farm animals. One day we went for a quick hike on the Ghost Trail - nice and flat, more bicycles than walkers. Hint: if you get on at the Heshbon trailhead, park in the parking lot and then begin your hike ACROSS the road. That will take you to some cool stuff. My one suggestion for anyone staying in the loft: if you are prone to some adult drinking around the campfire, be sure to bring a bottle of water up the ladder with you when you retire at night. Far better to have it up there with you at 4 AM if you get thirsty, than trying to quietly climb down!

Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm
Cozy cabin is a great experience
The cozy cabin & entirety of Nature Works Farm was a real treat. The cabin is somehow both basic & completely charming. No electricity was no problem and the composting toilet is smell-free & totally clean. There were more little extras than we anticipated: cast iron skillet, mixing bowl, can opener, “lunch trays,” olive oil, dominoes, books, etc. The site is very private but also very close to the rest of the farm, which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. There is a sweet little pond with chairs, farm animals with lots of personality all over, and lots growing in & outside the greenhouses. Highly suggest taking a farm tour; Bob & his daughter were amazing guides- we spent hours learning & getting hands on. A highlight was collecting fallen apples to feed to the piglets and even milking goats! Cassandra was very communicative before our stay & has detailed directions & advice for things to do & see in the area. The only negative was that the site isn’t too far from a state route that has a fair amount of car traffic day & night— and sound travels easily. So while most everything was idyllic, you don’t ever truly get to tune out the background sounds. That said, we loved the place & definitely look forward to a return visit. Thanks to Bob, Cassandra, Willa & dog Ava... and all the menagerie!

The hosts were welcoming (both people and animals). The cabin was delightful. You do hear constant traffic from the cars on the two lane road, but otherwise secluded and relaxing. Took time to go on the Ghost Town Trail nearby, attend a Mennonite auction, and drive by the Jimmy Stewart statue in Indiana. Perfect getaway weekend.

This was a lovely little cabin getaway. We had a really nice, quiet weekend, got to see lots of stars, and enjoyed cooking outside. I really appreciated the bench and table set up on the porch, it was perfect for prepping food, or enjoying a cup of tea. Even though you're close to the main house, it still feels like you have your own space. Would recommend!

Cozy Cabin lives up to its name! Comfortable, cozy, isolated, but 10 minutes away from a lovely college town, piglets, geese cows and goats to visit with. Just lovely. There's no electricity and no indoor plumbing, but battery powered lanterns and a composting loo do the job just fine.
