From the start, we had fantastic communication with the hosts. The grounds weren’t technically open yet, but through some glitch HipCamp allowed me to book anyway. Adam not only welcomed us as the first official campers, he offered us a more private spot and a generous bundle of wood, and somehow managed to coordinate any final touches they were doing to the grounds to happen while we were down by the river or in town.
Adam happened to be around as we were setting up, came and introduced himself and told us about the history of the grounds, the river, the local fishing culture and the nearby town (which honestly stole our hearts). As present and engaging as he was while around, he is equally as invisible when gone! Lol.
Such a cool experience to watch a campground form. And he was right, as we got to know the forest we got familiar with which birds are up early (your Merlin app will do a light show :) ) how decent the canopy is at protecting you from a sudden downpour, and just how many shades of beautiful the sky can be.
Go down to the river. The river that you can access straight from the grounds. Like you can take a pleasant 2 minute stroll and walk right in. As you spend time up there, you’ll see what a gift that is, and how awesome these folks are for sharing in this way.
The emerging site design is thoughtful and in a prime location for peace.
TLDR; stay here!! Great people, great location, great time. So much beauty.
