Always a great place to stay. Beautiful spacious lot with water on two sides and an empty lot on the other with water on 2 sided of it. Great hosts always available if there is a need and quick to respond. Our favorite place to camp!

We had a wonderful stay!! The lot is beautiful, utility locations convenient and solid, and outdoor area spotless and inviting. Very quiet street which makes for a relaxing and private experience. Per the instructions, we backed down Base Hit as the culdesac would not have been large enough for us to turn around (F150 towing a 28’ trailer). Backing down the street was not challenging, but does require some skill. Teresa was very responsive anytime we needed anything and is overall an exceptional host. We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I loved camping here! The weather did not cooperate during our stay but there is plenty to do within a short drive. Plenty of seafood and restaurants close by. Perfect area for kayaking, fishing, sunbathing, and relaxing. The neighborhood is quiet and the locals were friendly. We will definitely make a return trip!

This was an amazing spot. Not only was it a great location for the events we were attending, it was a beautiful experience! The community just at the end of the entrance has all your needs! The host was just a peach!

Our own private peninsula on a canal right by Currituck Sound! Beautiful grassy area with full hookups, picnic table, and campfire pit. We loved sitting in the beach chairs, watching the fish jump and a multitude of birds like egrets, blue heron, and robins. We walked over to Barry’s restaurant for an excellent meal and fun ambience. Our pup loved playing with Walnut, the very sweet dog next door. Teresa could not have been more accommodating. She came over to greet us when we arrived and also dropped off some bundles of firewood. She was incredibly friendly and responsive—-top notch host! We look forward to coming back and renting kayaks next time to explore the canals and sound.

We love camping at Teresa's place. Well kept, beautiful surroundings in a quiet environment. Spacious lot with fire pit, and picnic table on concrete pad. The hosts are very friendly and always willing to help with anything needed. Water on two sides with an empty lot on the 3rd side with water beyond it. Overall our favorite place to camp.

Beautiful place, well cared for with excellent hosts. Hosts are always friendly and provide wood for the first night”s fire in the handy fire ring with grill for cooking over the fire. Great internet service with the provided wireless router on the site dedicated cable line. Our favorite place to stay.

We spent about a week at Water Retreat and had an amazing time (2 adults 3 kids and dog). The site is exactly as advertised and pictured. Very roomy with a nice patio with fire ring, picnic table and a couple lounge chairs. Teresa and her husband met us at the site the day we checked in and dropped off two kayaks and gear the next morning. The waters around the site are easy to kayak in and the entire family enjoyed that.
All the activities and sights and sounds of OBX are about 20 minutes away; we were able to enjoy what we wanted to do at the beach and the like and then head back to the solitude of the site. All in all, couldn't have asked for more.
We were in a 43 foot motorhome, so the advice to back onto the lane was well heeded; the lane is narrow and the cul-de-sac is small; if you are in a bigger rig don't try to drive down into the site, you'll want to back into the lane off the connecting street.
Say hi to Walnut, the neighbors' dog who will want to come and say hello each day. He's a sweetheart and loves pets.

We had an amazing time. Such an incredible and peaceful place to stay with the best hosts. Close to all the major OBX fun but out of the chaos. The sound is beautiful and very accessible. Highly recommend - stay as long as you can.

This site is awesome! All utilities are easily accessed and in great working order. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The surrounding water (on 3 sides) was a wonderful sight to see. Teresa brought kayaks to us almost immediately after requesting them. She was great to work with. I highly recommend stopping in and staying here.

Teresa's Water Retreat was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, watching the fish jump, the ducks and the occasional boat or jet ski. We put the kayaks in and paddled around in the canal. Just a short walk over to the sound where we enjoyed floating around on our tube. Also just a short walk is a wonderful little dive bar called Barry's. We ate there twice, great food.
Teresa and her husband were terrific hosts. They checked in on us a couple of times during our stay, but if we needed anything, just a text message and they would take care of us. Would love to return again.

Water Retreat is at the end of the road in the cul-de-sac. The land is level. All hooks are at the trellis. She even has a clothesline for you to use. There is a nice concrete patio with a picnic table, firepit and Adirondack chairs. They brought over kayaks for us to use. Beautiful view across the canal. Nice neighbors next door and they have a sweet dog, Walnut, who came over to visiit with our dogs. Teresa and her husband are both so sweet. If we needed anything, they were just a text away. We enjoyed our stay so much. I hope to come back again soon.

We love Teresa‘s place. Quiet and peaceful, Sitting by the water and watching the birds. Great place to rest, and even get a little work done. Teresa and her husband are the perfect hosts.
Sitting by the fire at night is beautiful!
Shopping is close by if you need it.
There’s even an arcade two blocks down the street.

This is our second visit to Water Retreat. Teresa is such a gracious host and she takes care of everything on her gorgeous property so well. It is impeccably manicured and such a beautiful, peaceful place. The ducks often visit and occasionally a nice neighborhood dog comes by to check in. This is by far our favorite Hipcamp location and we like to spend our anniversary here every year.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Water Retreat! It was the best spot in the neighborhood. Being surrounded by water kept us somewhat secluded from the neighbors and other campers, yet close enough to enjoy their presence.
And to top it off, the cove had some pretty big large mouth bass, which makes it a top destination for my husband :)
The lot was very well kept and Teresa and her husband very accommodating!

Water Retreat
We had a wonderful trip! If you love water activities they are right there at your campsite! We were so happy to find a place that wasn’t crowded like the beach “resorts” aka parking lots- so much space! The beach is about 15 minutes away. The site was very well maintained and had a beautiful patio and fire pit. I highly recommend BJ’s cafe a few miles down the road for lunch or dinner, Owens in Nags Head for a nicer dinner, and Sanctuary winery has great wine. Thank you Teresa for sharing your water retreat with us! We will be back soon!
