We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago and enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

Learn more about this land: 104 acres of private land for your enjoyment. This site would be best suited for tent campers at the moment due to no bath houses or electricity for the time being. Come enjoy your stay bring a kayak or canoe and float around the 6 acres of ponds and catch some of the many bass, bream or crappie that occupy the waters. The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is gravel all the way to the camping area with signs for directions. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. Reserve your spot and experience the peace and quiet of the outdoors and listen to the turkeys and watch the deer feed in early mornings while the sun rises. Our location is very "country" with lots of wildlife (deer, fox, rabbits, birds, etc...) roaming about. It is very quiet in the evenings and overnight. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password (service not guaranteed). Please leave us a note about your stay.

We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. A Celtic themed restaurant, the Mad Boar, is just a 10 minute drive if you are looking for a unique farm to table experience. And Duplin Winery is just 15 minutes away with tastings and tours. Located just 10 minutes from I-40 off US 41 we are easily found. A diamond in the rough.

I came here in February to do Solo camping. I liked it so much I booked Memorial weekend for my family. I came prepared to target Catfish. I caught 5 Catfish and 2 Gar. My wife and Daughter Tubed in the river and did some swimming. River is clean and clear despite being named the Black River. Lisa the Host is the Nicest person and drives around Periodically just to check on everyone. We will definitely be back.

The campsite was beautiful! Hundreds of tall pines throughout the campsite have provided campers with a wonderful cushion of pine needles underfoot. Meticulously clean and cared for sites. Very quiet. Would definitely camp there again next time I’m in the area. Couldn’t ask for a prettier spot to spend some time.

What a fabulous place! It is so beautiful and well cared for. And all of the animals just make it magical. If you have a dog, it is the perfect spot to let them run around and meet the farm dogs. Heather and Scott could not be nicer. Even if it isn’t on your way, go there!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Family Stay at Double LLC Farm. My family of seven spent two wonderful days at Double LLC Farm, and it was exactly the kind of weekend I hoped to give my kids. From the moment we arrived, they were completely in love with the animals , petting them, exploring the farm, and enjoying the freedom to run and play in a peaceful, safe space. Even the camper neighbors were friendly, which made the whole environment feel warm and welcoming. What truly made this stay special were Lisa and her husband. They are some of the kindest, most genuine people we’ve met in North Carolina. Their hospitality, warmth, and professionalism made us feel like more than guests. People like them give you hope in humanity, and small businesses run with this much heart deserve all the support in the world. My kids were sad when it was time to leave because they loved the animals, the quiet atmosphere, and especially the kindness of Lisa and her husband. The farm is peaceful, fun, and perfect for families who want to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with each other. I would recommend Double LLC Farm to anyone. Beautiful, quiet spot. It was rainy the day I stayed and the rain sounds on the cabin was so serene and peaceful. Directions and getting to the property were superb. My bestie said I was sleeping in a chicken coop and i replied bock bock! 10/10 would do again.

We enjoyed a peaceful overnight in a beautiful, rustic setting! We had a 32’ Minnie Winnie and a 16’ trailer, and we were able to pull-thru. Lisa was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful, and we loved meeting all her furry friends! An added bonus was Lisa’s little store that offers high quality, farm-fresh meats. We highly recommend this experience and look forward to our next visit!

About

Jones Lake State Park is known for a peculiar geographical feature known as the Carolina bays. A Carolina bay is an oval-shaped depression, named for the sweet bay, loblolly bay and red bay trees that typically grow around them. Many smaller bays are found throughout the southeast, but there aren't many like Jones Lake, which is about 8,000 feet long. And here’s where it gets strange—the “lake” is only 8.7 feet deep!

You can splash around in the shallow bay just like you’re in an above-ground pool, only your surroundings will be much prettier. There are a few other lakes, like Jones and Salters, to check out in the area as well. Encircling the bays are tranquil forests with hiking trails and a few of the best picnic spots in the state. But we’ll leave it up to you to find them.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Jones Lake State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its peak. Summer months can be warm, making early morning or late afternoon visits more comfortable. Winters are generally quiet, offering a serene park experience, though some amenities may be limited.

Know before you go

Check the weather forecast before your visit to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Be aware of park hours, typically from 8:30am to 5pm, and plan your activities accordingly.
Stay on designated trails to protect the park's delicate ecosystems and your own safety.

Camp sites are pretty nice and very clean. Some of them are pretty small though but others are more spacious. Little shade to be found except for in the right places. Clean bathhouse with hot and cold water but no AC (ranger said they are about to update those facilities soon) Visitor center is really nice. Beach and grounds are clean and well maintained and the canoes and paddle boats are there for rent. Staff is very courteous and helpful and they offer different educational sessions as well. There are several covered tables/areas for parties and other events. Only con: beware the yellow biting flies!!!
