I have to say, I was coming to stay alone with my 4 yr old, and I was so scared and nervous on my way there. Im from South Florida, so this isnt normal roads to me. Anyways all the bad was going thru my head, I arrived all overwelmed exhausted, and anxious. As soon as I met Liz, I felt a weight off my chest, and I knew I would be fine. Tom and Liz were amazing, I felt like I was with my grandparents after a few days. <3 My little one was petting the horses everyday, she would go up to them freely. Amazing place to be surrounded by animals. I look forward to returning again.

Was a beautiful spot. Easy access within a safe and clean community, but the property itself is isolated well and feels secluded for a great camping experience. Very peaceful with the light water sounds as a backdrop. Plenty of space with great tree canopy for shade. Surprisingly the water and shade made it feel pretty great for a coastal SC July. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Riverbend Camp Retreat

Our recent stay at Andrew's Hipcamp in Conway, SC, was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations! This spot is perfectly located – a quick drive to charming historic downtown Conway and only 30 minutes from the Myrtle Beach resorts, giving you the best of both worlds. The riverfront setting is truly beautiful, and having the fire pit right next to the water was a huge highlight. We're big fans of birds of prey, so we were thrilled to be greeted by an owl upon arrival, and we loved hearing it throughout the night. The property offers plenty of space, allowing us to choose our preferred setup, and we happily settled right by the fire pit. Andrew was an incredibly proactive and thoughtful host, ensuring the land was in top shape and even providing visual directions to the spot. The bonus of having a bunch of sticks ready for the fire was such a nice touch and showed his attention to detail. We will definitely be back with our kids – this has become a new favorite spot for us! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-maintained, and perfectly located camping experience.

Site 8 was perfect for our long weekend beach trip to OIB! Wanted to save money but still wanted to come on the family vacation, so instead of missing out we decided to camp at Connies! The property is located 7 miles off highway 74/76 in Whiteville and 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw, 32 miles to Ocean Isle Beach, 45 miles to Wilmington, 36 miles to North Myrtle Beach. The road is gravel all the way to the camping area with signs for directions. When there’s no burn ban in place or lack of rain i do try to keep firewood on-site but I recommend checking with me before your stay. Lumber River State Park holds one of the longest stretches of river of any park in the state. 115 miles of river flows through this extensive area, 81 of which are designated national wild and scenic waters. That’s the equivalent of an official stamp that declares good times for anyone who paddles here. And paddle you should. No trip to Lumber River State Park would be complete without logging at least a few miles drifting down the beautiful waterway.

But if water really isn’t your thing, there are 11,064 acres of land where you can find a million ways to stay entertained. We’d recommend the 1.5-mile trail in the Princess Ann area, which features a 100-foot boardwalk across a wetland area and a turn-of-the-century millpond. Now that we’ve wet your appetite for adventure, get out there and quench it!
