We have a private 48 acre island with a 2 bedroom Treehouse and SURVIVOR Games plus our 14 acre Outpost that you can drive to with Glamping Tents and primitive campsites. We offer kayak rentals and guided tours, pontoon boat tours, Sunset S'mores with Owl Call and so much more.

The River Bend Treehouse is an off-the-grid accommodation located on a private 48 acre island on the Waccamaw River, we take you to the island on our pontoon boat (there is no road to the island). The Treehouse measures in at a whopping 1,000 square feet of indoor & outdoor covered space! The upper floor is 12 feet off the ground and features 400 sq ft living space that includes 2 bedrooms. As you walk out the front door you will be greeted by four rocking chairs on the deck between two massive trees (one oak & one pine) that the 200 sq ft deck is built around. Venture down the stairs to discover the 400 sq ft covered first level that includes a cooking area with a Blackstone griddle, propane burner stove, sink with a tank of water, cutting board, cooking utensils and a large picnic table. Leaving the lower deck you can explore the expansive river bank or step down into the bistro lit outdoor seating area with chairs, firepit and games. Had a great time tent camping at River Island Adventure! My dog and I were greeted and shown to our site by Jeff and his staff. The toilets and showers are a nice option at the outpost. Looking forward to when paddle board weather comes back to visit again and take advantage of the river access!

Jeff’s place is a treasure. South Carolina is lucky to have it! The campsites are immaculate, their shared space is beautiful and so thoughtfully created; we enjoyed the showers and outdoor kitchen. On-site staff are a joy to be around and the landscape is zen paradise. Right by the river, tucked in the woods, 15 minutes from the beach; this is the place to be. We feel lucky to have experienced the magic!

Dude was very nice super sociable. Super laid back place. Chill fire spots and what not. Beautiful nature for the most part. Nice creeks. I just really liked the atmosphere and the fact that there were showers, toilets, microwave, multiple grills. A communal fridge. All of that made it super pleasant and felt very over the top friendly which I love. Great place. Nice people Would recommend.

1st time camping here and it was wonderful. Staff is extremely attentive and nice. Very laid back and unstressful which is really what your looking for on a weekend getaway to recharge from the day to day. The glamping tent we booked was extremely clean and comfortable overlooking the river making it very tranquil. If you bring children, the site has a myriad of events and activities to keep them busy and having fun. The whole facility is extremely well kept and a lot of thought and effort was put in to create the appropriate holiday theme of the season (we were there late Oct and it looked fabulous). We are definitely going to book another stay there especially with all the warm weather activities they have like kayaking and tubing. We might consider one of thier more excluded camping sites that they offer. Very much recommend checking it out whether old or young.

River Island Glamping Tents

Awesome place. Cherish and Jeff have a beautiful property and go over and above to make you comfortable. We are beach bums so we only kayaked 1x but it was great. We did the s'mores night at the island and met some great folks from Nebraska. We also talked to Jeff and learned how he is living his dream. Cherish and Liv were our guides that evening and made the paddle down and back so enjoyable. If you need to unplug and reset yourself do not hesitate to book a glamping tent here!

Really enjoyed the stay. Tent camping does put you a decent distance away from the main site - emergency bathroom trips aren’t really possible. The tent site did have a strong urine odor. Everything else was great.

As a family we had a great time. The set up made life very easy and the staff were very helpful. Kids were kept busy with fun activities. Shared fridge space and ice was readily available. Provided grill area also (with sink station to clean up dishes etc after) shower area and bathrooms were excellent. The glamping tents were great. Spacious and beds were comfortable. As a family, we stayed on a newly constructed platform that had a tent for us and a separate tent for the kids (right beside each other) which the kids loved and so did we. We can’t wait to return!

Awesome camping spots just a few miles from North Myrtle. They have everything you need, glamping tents and camping spots. There is a bathroom and really nice outdoor showers, ice, huge communal fire pit, bbq’s and outdoor kitchen area, corn hole and other outdoor games. We stayed in a glamping tent and the bed was super comfy, they provided a power box to charge our electronics as well as a propane heater which really came in handy the last night when it got cold! There is even a little ice box outside each glamping tent and we were given a complimentary s’more kit. The hosts were very kind and helpful. We went to several different beaches in the area while visiting family. We didn’t have time to try the kayaking but it looked great! We would definitely stay here again.

Neat little find. We spent most of our time during the day at the beach, which is conveniently located about 10 min away. Though, we would stay again and like to spend more time at camp. Tons to do there at the site - kayaking, slack line, cooking. All the activities you need are provided right there. We had a great time :)

The glamping tent was a great experience! The space has a comfortable bed, lights, the ability to charge devices if you’d like, and a good roof to keep you dry if it rains. Everything you could possibly want or need is included - firewood, clean bathrooms, games, picnic tables, a cooler and ice, clean water, even a s’mores kit. The kayaks were definitely a highlight. This stay offered the perfect balance of convenience and the ability to unplug and be in nature. The hosts are very kind and offered great recommendations. We had such a good time and hope to come back!
