Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

Our farm is an agritourism/sheep farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo, Bed and Breakfast, farm store, and camping area!
We are a working farm during the week but we allow camping on weekends or weekdays. The price is the same except the petting zoo and farm store are only open on weekends.
We don't have hookups, so bring a generator if you need it. If you need to fill up your RV water tank, we charge $10. Each of the 3 sites has a fire ring and picnic table.
A Grill Pavilion is available to rent for $20 extra. See photos. Propane is included.
We allow check-ins during the week after 12 noon, perfect for folks passing through and just need a safe and quiet place to park for the night and not interested in visiting the farm store, the barnyard or the rest of the farm, which are closed during week.
If you are looking for a petting zoo experience or want to browse our farm store, we are only open from 10-4 weekends. However, we do offer camp side service for things like fresh eggs, sausage, ground beef, firewood, jams or honey. You can order those items through the app here, or once you arrive, you can send us a message through the app and we will deliver to your camp site. We accept card or cash.
While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs closer to the petting zoo area. We offer a 1+ acre fenced in area next to the camping sites where you can allow your dogs off-leash. No extra charge.
Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded.
There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Turn into the driveway and up towards the house. You will enter the camping area through the open double gates on your left. Pull up to either site next to the blue porta potty.

Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

Troutman is a very quaint southern town very close to Mooresville, NC. It is smack in the middle of Charlotte and Hickory! So you can enjoy the mountains or the city or both from ONE LOCATION!! We are within driving distance to Lowe's Motor speedway and very close to many race teams located in Mooresville.
The downtown of Troutman is a short drive from your camp spot and there is a grocery store, drug store and many privately owned restaurants, including Italian, German and amazing fried chicken at Julia's! There is an ice cream parlor too!! Another wonderful asset to Troutman is Daveste' Vineyard where there is live music often, and of course wine tastings! This beautiful vineyard is less than 10 mins away.

Another great trip to the Ancient Spring Farm! Staying in the Pine Alley Campsite was wonderful, secluded, and private. The site was perfect for camping with plenty of space and flat ground. It's hard to find good spots for astrophotography on the East Coast, but on a clear night with a new moon you can see the milky way with your bare eyes from here. Can't recommend it enough!

I enjoyed chasing around several species of rare birds, taking in the abundance of fauna and flora all around me and seeing my 11 year old daughter interact with the farm animals. The hospitality that the hosts showed us was very special and appreciated. I’m thankful for the experience.

Cheryl and family were awesome hosts! They were very understanding and flexible when our arrival time needed to change last minute. They guided us right to our spot when we arrived. The spot was as described and perfect for our camper setup. The property is fantastic and perfect for primitive camping. Camp sites are set apart enough to offer a decent amount of privacy. The public shower/bathhouse was a nice accommodation for the primitive camping but it would be nice if guests could make hot/cold adjustments in shower instead of just an on/off switch to turn on the water. They have several things in their onsite store to purchase that were very convenient and also help support the farm! Keep it local if you can right?! Their sausage was fantastic! We will definitely be back!

Cheryl is a gem and her property is a beautiful, special place! Site 1 is perfect for large groups and my friends and our dogs and I enjoyed playing in the creek and fishing in the pond. We appreciate the camp store with goodies and great prices. Cheryl was very responsive and communicative. we will be back !!!

My son and I had a fantastic stay at this site. The outdoor shower was phenomenal. The walks along abbotts Creek are really breathtaking. All of the animals are fun to look at. cannot recommend it enough.

Rebecca was a great communicator. I was on a long journey, stopping in the south and heading across towards the east coast. I saw her farm on hipcamp and was eager to stop there for the night and I booked a nights stay, but the road and the time got in the way...so I never got a chance to stay. I was able to communicate my travel and timeline with her through the app, and she was a quick responder.

Cheryl was a phenomenal host, we had a really nice shady spot in woods behind the farm, had our own private drive on our site near the creek. It was just a 4 minute walk up to the store, bath house (which was actually really nice), and the pond. The water was a little low and murky due to the drought they were having, but still managed to catch 5 bass and a bluegill that had to be 3/4 of a lb (that's a stud). They also had a really nice farm and lots of different animals you could pet and feed. At their store they offer a great variety of freshly butched meats and produce the get from the farm (cash is king). Their salted bacon was some of the best bacon I'd ever had and don't even get me started on the fresh ice cream they get from a nearby farm.Five minutes down the road is a nice little waterfall you can take the kids for the afternoon with easy access parking off the side of the road. We had a great time long story short and would definitely come back again.

25 ft truck camper
Ancient Spring Farm is a beautiful little farm tucked away in the country. You can really tell that Rebecca has put hard work and love into every acre. The animals are playful and lively, and the chickens curious and explorative! Staying under the old shed helped keep the camper cool, and was a real blessing when storms came through! I wasn't able to do any of the farm add-ons during my trip but I'm hoping to stay again soon when I have more time and take a couple classes and tours. Really was a great stay, looking forward to coming back!

Can’t believe more people haven’t stayed here!! So quaint and reserved. Nicest host and such an expansive property with tons of trails, two docks, and hammocks to pass the time. Only two big caveats are the lack of an outhouse and no signal. Otherwise, perfect! Secluded and just the getaway I needed.

Wonderful camp spot! The host was very responsive and was so accommodating. The farm store is not open during the week, but she made sure I knew I could contact her directly if I wanted anything from there. I got 2 delicious jams, the most reasonably priced fresh eggs I've had in some time, and a container of delicious snack sized plums. The sheep were kind, and there are plenty of places to walk or hike in the area.

I enjoyed the tent camping on the farm. Mr. Robert was great, very kind and helpful. The farm has a really interesting decor. The pond was full of life . I didn't do any real fishing but I did put a line in and got a couple of bites. If you're looking for a place to unplug and relax this is a great place. I would happily go back.

These hosts are one in a million. Some of the kindest people you will meet. Their farm is heaven in North Carolina. From the farm animals to the lovely cabin. We felt time slow down and reset.

2 nights at Tails and Trails
I enjoyed the site. It was great to have the tent set up and a nice bed but to still have the feel of actual camping. It was a beautiful setting and so peaceful.
Jeremy was kind and gracious and so helpful. I plan on going back and staying in the big tent!
