Too Many Oaks is a perfect mix of nice and quiet but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. We hunted, fished, made mud pies and played outside for hours, as long as we were in shouting distance for supper time! I am so fortunate to be the daughter of two amazing parents, who had a dream to build a working farm from nothing more than a logging trail in the woods. They built a 3 story, 10,000 square foot house by themselves- while raising a family! We have 200 acres of farmland that features rolling hills, multiple ponds, creeks, farm animals, show horses and countless wildlife viewing opportunities. Wild turkey and deer roam free all over the farm, coveys of dove fly out from the pastures and trails, and coyotes howl in the night. Listen to the frogs croaking, crickets chirping and whipporwhills calling every evening under a magical blanket of stars. Take a nature hike through the trails that meander through the woods around the park. Our newest venture is to offer primitive camping and some cabin rentals around our 60 acre Agripark!
For those wanting to step it up a notch, we have erected a large concrete floor, covered event barn (for parties, family reunions, weddings, cowboy church, etc..,) and also a huge petting zoo barn with an area behind it for pony rides and 4-h/FFA functions. Also, a greenhouse is being erected next, that will teach people about aquaponics and hydroponics! Many things are on the immediate horizon for this special property. While we are under heavy construction at the moment in some areas of the park, many amenities are currently available. Why not unplug from the daily grind and spend time with those that matter most? I was very happy to stay here. These are spacious sites with a patio table and chairs in site 1. The property has a cozy old farm house that has a kitchen and common area to hang out. There is fire wood and fire ring if you like a fire and plenty of tree coverage and woods. The Host was at the property and made me feel welcomed and we chatted for a bit about his plans to keep improving the sites and adding some cabins as well. I highly recommend this place.

Too Many Oaks was a really awesome place. It felt secluded, yet was close to a highway and Columbia. The trees were magnificent. Site 1 was really comfy with lights strung in the big oak, a tree swing, axe throwing station, water, light power, picnic area, and fire pit. There was plenty of room to turn around and a level spot to put my camper. I enjoyed the farmhouse with its uneven plank floors, and old-world charm. Michael was fun to chat with loves his place more than I did! I would come back in a heartbeat.

I'm an experienced camper (hammock) and this was a wonderful first experience with Hip Camp! I found two appropriate trees back behind the clearing to hang my hammock and tarp. The farmhouse is the best part. It was stocked more thoughtfully than any Airbnb or VRBO I have rented!
I just needed a simple quick hang relatively close to i26 so I could sleep on my way from FL to NC. This was far above that. In fact Michael has set the bar high for my expectations of future Hip Camp sites. I plan on returning again!

Our first Hip Camp experience and it was good. We were in site 2 which gave us plenty of space. It was open enough to allow use of our solar panels to top off our camper's battery during the day. Although we have a small off road camper which is self sufficient, having use of the old house for the kitchen sink and the bathroom was nice. As in the listing, nothing fancy, but it got the job done. My wife was grateful for the coffee station which is a nice touch. Overall, a good place and value for the money. It was a good base for exploration/visitation of Congaree National Park.

Very quiet and relaxing location. Set back about 150’ from the lake and on an extremely quiet road. This was a very relaxing weekend. Ann was super nice and brought us a dozen of her delicious eggs from her chickens. We really enjoyed kayaking on the lake and star gazing!

Lots of fun!! Very pretty spot. Nice and shady. Fishing poles and tackle are NOT included so bring your own. One thing I would like to make people aware of is that the bathhouse is on the other side of the property so prepare for a walk when you plan on using it. But it was a beautiful place and I would absolutely come again. (Maybe in the fall 😉)

Beautiful land and wonderful owners. They were very kind, laid-back, and made us feel nothing less than welcomed. They even provided us firewood to use!
The space was spacious and serene. Quiet despite being in a neighborhood of sorts. There were little to no insects causing us problems when we visited.
