Whenever we go on vacation it’s never as nice as home. This is that same experience as we get when we come home.#1 Hipcamp RV site in Northern California 2021 This campsite is on its own parcel and can accommodate up to three RVs, trailers, or camper vans. Get away from it all, while being in the middle of everything! Resting at 2,800’ feet enjoy acres of privacy from your self contained unit, RV or travel trailer, while camping on your own secluded parcel with unparalleled panoramic views of the Monterey and South Bay.   Experience everything the Bay Area has to offer from this mountain top site. With jaw dropping views, and roughly 50 minutes to any city in the Bay Area, this site is ideal for any person looking for an adventurous getaway retreat.   The seclusion and privacy make this an uncommon, yet ideal romantic trip.  This site is sheltered by the manzanitas and pines of this chaparral community, with its Eastern border along Uvas County Park. Adventure seekers will find paradise here!  Mount Madonna Park with miles of trails is 20 minutes down the road. You can dump your septic there as well!  Horseback riding rentals are located near the park as well as an archery range.  Demonstration forest is 15 minutes down the road, with miles of mountain biking. Spend a day at one of the beaches in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Rio Del Mar, Davenport, Half Moon Bay, Monterey, or Carmel and return to your private oasis. Or Explore Silicon Valley from this centrally located parcel. Kim Son Meditation Center and Mount Madonna Center are approximately 15 minutes away.  There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here. The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a rough private dirt road.  Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities.   Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended.  It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Please note: The nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers.  Pets are allowed.  Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation. Don't forget your camera! Please keep the lid to the trash closed, and do not pour grease anywhere you do not want wasps. We have traps available if there is an issue. Just ask.

Nice and private, but no services
We had a great experience in general, it is very private so no one will complain about noise. The place was easy to find with the location and instructions given. There is not big trees so bring your own stuff for shade. What we didn’t like is that there is no water and proper bathroom, the pit bathroom available for the 4 sites it was hard to find in the night because there is no sign. Other than that, is a good place to see the amazing views and a big space to have big groups!

Excellent! We’ll be back!!
Five stars! This experience was amazing!! Gorgeous view, so much privacy, all needed amenities. We will be back — and will bring friends! The site is massive — you could fit multiple tents! There is a picnic table and chairs, plus a toilet (just a bit of a walk away). Your campsite is gated so you feel secluded. The hosts are fabulous! Our car battery died and they were so great about coming over and giving us a jump! We will absolutely be back again! (Note: the road to get here is definitely rough — gravel and dirt — so just be prepared) :)

Private, great views but rough road
So glad we came for a 2-night stay. Our (lifted) Scion and little camper made it through the rough, unpaved road. Yes, very very private and quiet. Plenty of room for my blind German shepherd to play around with his ball. The views of Monterey Bay and Morgan Hill were spectacular! I highly recommend requesting the propane fire pit for warmth - worth it. This place is good for a 2-night stay (nothing really to do here). We did enjoy hiking Madonna Park. If it wasn't for the unpaved road, I would certainly come back. It's too rough for me and my little car, but I highly recommend for jeeps and such! Thank you, hosts, for the picnic table and chairs!!

Great campsite with a few caveats
Top of the world experience with fantastic views, yes, but some unexpected aspects would make me avoid this site in the future. To get there you'll need an off road/high clearance vehicle. With a 4x4 truck, I had zero issues. Be prepared for a long stretch of unpaved rugged roads with dips, pits, and washboards. While visually thecampsite itself was awesome, the disturbing sounds from neighboring yelling people, late night dirt bikes, and passing cars about 50ft from the site make this a not so peaceful place to sleep. There were even moments my guest and I began feeling unsafe as we were startled awake throughout the night by people, cars, and other man made noises nearby. If you're fine with urban camping maybe you won't notice this stuff but as a nature guy looking for serenity this place didn't meet my expectations.
