Our dogs first camping trip
Very nice big property for our quick overnight stay. Our dogs had a big time! Felt very private even though you’re not too far from the road. Had excellent cell phone reception. Walked a lot of land that was beautiful. Would recommend to other travelers a high deet bug spray and make sure dogs are up to date on tick prevention. Other than that, the bugs were minimal. Host was very friendly and accommodating through messaging. We would stay again!

So much space to park, to walk, and the dogs could be off leash! Very easy and a pleasure for our one night! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at Joe’s farm. It was quiet, plenty of space, and had beautiful shade spots to camp. We stayed there for one night as an instant book, Joseph was quick and attentive. He also provided us with recommendations for drinks and food. His spot is a must stay for those who just need a break from the fast life.

Just passing through…
Very peaceful! Just stayed for the night passing through town. Plenty of room for us and the pups to stretch out our legs. Joseph was very responsive to our questions and eager to meet any needs that we may have had. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area!

Perfect spot, perfect host
We just wrapped up a weekend my son and I will never forget, all thanks to Joe and his amazing property, adorned “Scarlett Drawl.”
I took my four-year-old on his first ever camping trip. I wanted somewhere that would be a way to dip the toe into the camping waters for the little one, and would be in a relatively secluded area. That, but with easy access to nearby shops for random forgotten essentials and easy access to Hanging Rock State Park.
Scarlett Drawl ticked those boxes and then some. Joe’s 25-acre property is a gem; his quaint log home tops a hill at the property, overlooking a beautiful corn field. We were welcomed with a friendly, enthusiastic greeting, playful banter with my kiddo, and a walk down to where we’d be posting up for the next two days.
Joe was very helpful and accommodating all weekend and had great recommendations for restaurants as we made our drive on the first full day to the State Park.
Joe’s fire pit allowed my little man to have his first ever s’more, too. By the end, my son was yelling “bye Joe” as we packed up, and I’m sure we have another trip in store to this awesome place with an awesome host sometime in the future.
