Voorhees State Park

Tired of those starless city nights? Make the trip to Voorhees State Park, home to of the largest privately-owned observatories in the state. Members of the New Jersey Astronomical Association are happy to offer year-round stargazing sessions for those who aren’t sure if what they’re looking at is a planet or a UFO. Beyond celestial exploration, there are over a thousand acres to hike or bike. When you’re ready, take a load off at one of the many shelters sprinkled throughout this park, or eat that lunch you packed at one of two overlooks with views of the Round Valley and Spruce Run Reservoirs that’ll make you drool all over your picnic.
