The Chippewa County Forest (over 10,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life.

BIRCH Waterfront is named for the beautiful birch trees that frame your view of the lake that also includes soothing evening loon sounds :) It is our medium size campsite with a level gravel and grass pad with lakefront access via the long wooded dock and an included row boat for fishing and boating.
EAGLE POINT Waterfront is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock. This site has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps!
BOB LAKE WEST Waterfront is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. This site has a bonus small storage shed which could be a cool kids cabin. It is partially wooded elevated site with stunning sunrise views.
WOODED RUSTIC is a non-waterfront campsite for both tents or RV's that has been updated to a site with power and water and includes access to the lake and a row boat at our common access which is only about 200 yards down the road from this site. RV's can park on the gravel pad and tent guests can setup down the walking trail in the woods.
This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

The first time we viewed this property, we knew we were home.
The woods, fields, wildlife, and house (created almost entirely from the lumber harvested from the land) drew us in. We purchased the home and 40 acres in 2018.
Since then it has been a labor of love to make it everything we dream.
A campground suitable for horseback riding was the goal for W15266.
This was where the original homestead stood (firepit area).
That home was transported across 95 on Davis road to become an Amish home.
This area was overgrown and filled with rubbish, but still had a great deal of suitable plants hidden in the raspberries. We are continually working to groom it, and eventually, hope to better level the drive and sites and cover them with gravel.
We need more and better fire pits and intend to have at least one more cabin- perhaps created from a refurbished corn crib?
This cabin was refurbished in 2020 from the original homestead’s summer kitchen (where food was prepared to keep the house from getting too warm).
Although it may have been easier to demolish and start over, Julie convinced Craig that the history was worth it. ;) I can’t tell you how disGUSTING it was, but we found treasures like the chair upstairs, the ironing board, and items on the walls and cupboards amongst the piles of Asian beetles and mouse chewings.
Our current project you see in front is the bath/shower house.
It has a toilet and shower and was completed 2021. With expansion, we will add one more toilet on the other side.
The old shed in front, is a disaster.
We fluctuate the same way we did with the summer kitchen: bulldoze or refurbish? It currently houses our equipment and lumber, but someday, we are hoping to have a small country Tiki bar.
Craig has received the liquor license already.
We love tucked away country bars with unique flavors, so we hope we can offer this to our customers.
Jeske Equestrian is also a boarding/training facility.
We built the horse barn in 2019, and last year we put up a 60x180 indoor riding arena.
Maintaining and creating trails has been extensive.
Keeping up on the signage and the trail map has been nearly impossible since Craig loves creating new ones with the skid steer on a regular basis!
We are working on the pond area to be more recreational in our future as well.

The pantry is stocked with sea salt, pepper, some basic cooking herbs, local coffee beans, and herbal tea.
We have a work desk with some writing supplies, colored pencils and crayons, board games, a record player with a few of our favorite records on hand, and a handpicked collection of books to cozy up and dive into.

The first time we viewed this property, we knew we were home.
The woods, fields, wildlife, and house (created almost entirely from the lumber harvested from the land) drew us in. We purchased the home and 40 acres in 2018.
Since then it has been a labor of love to make it everything we dream.
A campground suitable for horseback riding was the goal for W15266.
This was where the original homestead stood (firepit area).
That home was transported across 95 on Davis road to become an Amish home.
This area was overgrown and filled with rubbish, but still had a great deal of suitable plants hidden in the raspberries. We are continually working to groom it, and eventually, hope to better level the drive and sites and cover them with gravel.
We need more and better fire pits and intend to have at least one more cabin- perhaps created from a refurbished corn crib?
This cabin was refurbished in 2020 from the original homestead’s summer kitchen (where food was prepared to keep the house from getting too warm).
Although it may have been easier to demolish and start over, Julie convinced Craig that the history was worth it. ;) I can’t tell you how disGUSTING it was, but we found treasures like the chair upstairs, the ironing board, and items on the walls and cupboards amongst the piles of Asian beetles and mouse chewings.
Our current project you see in front is the bath/shower house.
It has a toilet and shower and was completed 2021. With expansion, we will add one more toilet on the other side.
The old shed in front, is a disaster.
We fluctuate the same way we did with the summer kitchen: bulldoze or refurbish? It currently houses our equipment and lumber, but someday, we are hoping to have a small country Tiki bar.
Craig has received the liquor license already.
We love tucked away country bars with unique flavors, so we hope we can offer this to our customers.
Jeske Equestrian is also a boarding/training facility.
We built the horse barn in 2019, and last year we put up a 60x180 indoor riding arena.
Maintaining and creating trails has been extensive.
Keeping up on the signage and the trail map has been nearly impossible since Craig loves creating new ones with the skid steer on a regular basis!
We are working on the pond area to be more recreational in our future as well.

The kitchen is quaint, but fully stocked with cookware, utensils and a pantry of essentials to help you feel right at home. Wake up, grind your own local beans and savor the art of making a pour over coffee to enjoy on the front steps.
The pantry is stocked with sea salt, pepper, some basic cooking herbs, local coffee beans, and herbal tea.
We have a work desk with some writing supplies, colored pencils and crayons, board games, a record player with a few of our favorite records on hand, and a handpicked collection of books to cozy up and dive into.
There is a brand new open-concept bathing room featuring a restored clawfoot bathtub & pedestal sink, a private restroom nook, and complete with fresh towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The linen and supplies used inside the home were selected to be easy on the environment and are free of harsh chemicals so those with sensitive skin can rest easy.

Sonder Schoolhouse was such a beautiful place to stay for the weekend! Super quaint and had everything we needed & we loved how secluded it was while also being close to the Twin Cities. The host was also reliable and available for any questions. The only downside - there were a lot of flies inside that could be annoying at times.

The yurt itself was a beautifully set up — spacious, warm, and very accommodating. Even with the cool October evenings, the heated yurt kept us toasty, and gathering around for games of dominoes while being warm and cozy. We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights.
The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

I’m so grateful for my time at Hill Camp. It felt like a dream waking up every morning as the sun rose over meadows full of aster and goldenrod. Sue and Allen were warm and kind and gave me great tips for places to check out, including an Amish bakery nearby! At night, you can see the Milky Way and hear full convos between owls and katydids and even (I think!) coyotes. During hunting season, you might periodically hear gun shots in the distance, but only during the day. In terms of amenities, the port-a-potty is very close, and if you need access to a sink or electricity, they have both at their cute little greenhouse down the way. This was my first time camping at a farm, and I can’t wait to come back and do it all over again 🥹🌾✨

We had water & electric hook ups at our site. And we caught some good sized bass and small sun fish. We didnt have any luck with northern but also unfamiliar with the area so that'd be on us. ;) we are used to goijg to places where campers are on top of each other with lots and lots of amenities because we have little kids. This place was the opposite but we loved it just as much! This trip was for just my husband and myself for our 9 year anniversary. We'd definitely come back with our kids but would probably stay at the Eagles Nest campsite for that trip just for the dock. But could totally do the same one with our kids too.
