Welcome to the Double J!
Of the 71 acres we own, about half is tillable and the other half is woods and pastures for our horses. Within that, there is a beautiful secluded 3-acre meadow nestled down along along a beautiful 1,200 foot stretch of the Zumbro River where we have 5 spacious tent/RV campsites. While the campsites are all adjacent to each other along the river, they are each very spacious (the smallest being 100' wide and 75' deep), with some mature trees scattered around. Each sites (except Site #1) is able to accommodate up to 8 people and more than one tent or RV. There is a small meadow above all the sites where campers can play catch or other games. We provide and maintain a centrally located outhouse and keep the entire area mowed throughout the year. All sites offer great shade trees (perfectly spaced for hanging up a hammock) and access to the river - great for those hot summer days!
Water activities to be enjoyed include fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and tubing (equipment not included). Some campers will drop in upstream at the Covered Bridge Park and float down to their campsite. The Zumbro River, especially in the fishing hole, offers great fishing including Trout, Small-mouth, Red-horse, and an occasional Northern or Sauger.
Campers are welcome to to meander out into our pastures to pet our two horses, Shiloh and Champ. Also, we are just over a mile from town where you can visit Covered Bridge Park which has a Frisbee golf course and a nice play area for younger kids.
Reserving adjacent sites, or all of the sites, makes for the ideal setting for a large family or group camp-out. In order to prevent overcrowding, we do reserve the right to limit number of sites, or campers per site based on overall parties/campers in the camping area. We will notify you if there are any limits at the time of your booking.
We enjoy being able to share our property with others, and it is our desire to promote a safe, peaceful, family-friendly environment, therefore, be sure to note, we do have a NO ALCOHOL policy.
PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to read the "RV Details" on the site information page as the road to the camping area may limit the type or size of RV due to a couple dips, a sharper curve, and it's steeper slope. Also, keep in mind, we reserve the right to cancel any reservations due to heavy rains or floods that may require our sites some additional time to dry out sufficiently.

As is customary for most campgrounds, we ask that if you bring in your own firewood that it be kiln dried. Dry firewood can be purchased for $5.00/bundle.
TIP - Being we do not reimburse campers in the event of rain (unless campground is flooded or too muddy), we highly recommend campers take advantage of Hipcamp’s Weather Guarantee option when booking. With Minnesota’s unpredictable weather it allows you to get reimbursed for any days it rains over a specified amount, even if you choose to stick out the rain! The cost is very reasonable making it almost a no-brainer!

This was our second time with GRG. They’re great hosts and you can tell they’re passionate about their farm and campsites! Sue is especially wonderful to talk with (they both are), she has this aire about her. Very nice to chat with about garden stuff, and anything that comes up. They’re very hospitable and we'll definitely be back again! They have toys to play with, and this time they had a little pool which my kids very much enjoyed. The walking trails are great scenery, a chance to see wildlife, and exercise! Their garden space is epic, and fun to walk through. Thanks for having us again.

This was a beautiful place to stay! The camp sites were tucked in along a short trail, and close-but-not-too-close to each other. The communal fire pit was well equipped with everything we needed, and the welcome bag was a nice touch with its practical items. I loved walking the trails and floating the river. Lots of wildflowers and birds to enjoy! Will definitely be back!

We had the most wonderful stay at this campsite! Four girlfriends spent the weekend here, and it was exactly what we were hoping for—private, peaceful, beautiful, and surrounded by nature.
The campsite itself was spacious and sits right on a beautiful pond. It was less than a five-minute walk from where we parked to the actual campsite, which was very easy. We rented kayaks and were able to kayak right on the pond, which was incredibly peaceful and honestly one of the highlights of our stay.
There was so much wildlife to enjoy—deer, toads, frogs, and so many different birds. We even heard owls and a fox at night! It really felt like we were tucked away in our own little piece of nature.
Christine and Kevin were wonderful hosts. They were friendly, easy to communicate with, and responded promptly whenever we had a question or sent a message. They also provided plenty of firewood, which was such a nice convenience. We purchased a dozen eggs and some maple syrup from them as well, and they were perfect for a campfire breakfast!
We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back. If you’re looking for a quiet, private place to relax, enjoy nature, kayak, sit around a campfire, and just unplug for a while, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

Over the last 4 summers, we’ve camped here 11 times and have always had a wonderful experience! Jeff and Julie have a beautiful and well-maintained property that offers multiple sites with plenty of space for privacy and room for dogs, too. The grass is lush and is a perfect terrain for tent camping, and the trees offer great shade. It’s always been a peaceful retreat for us to spend time at and we enjoyed sharing it with multiple friend groups over the years. We are sad we’ll soon be living too far away for it to be our main spot. Highly recommend The Double J!

We had a great time camping! We booked last minute and didn’t want to go too far from Minneapolis. They were super communicative and very friendly. The land was beautiful and very well maintained. The water and electric cord for our site was an added bonus. Will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our weekend here! The Mellow Yellow site was beautiful and surrounded by what felt like a sea of yellow wildflowers. It was incredibly peaceful, private, and exactly the kind of place you go when you want to unplug for a few days.
We spent the weekend watching wildlife, exploring the creek, sitting around the fire, and attempting to catch trout off a bridge just down from the site who apparently had absolutely no interest in anything we brought them. 😂 Even without the fish cooperating, being right by the creek was one of our favorite parts.
It was such a relaxing place to slow down and spend time together as a family. We booked our next stay before leaving. If you love quiet campsites, nature, wildlife, and being away from the usual crowded campground atmosphere, this place is a gem. ❤️🌿🏕️

Overall, it was a great time. we camped on one of the electric only sites, and had a great time cooking and having a bon fire. Each site has a picnic table, and lake wisota state park is just up the road

We had an awesome stay at two Aefintyr bell tents (Carya and Betulah)! The site was clean, well-prepared, and in a fantastic location for exploring the area. Chelsi was a super responsive host and understanding when we ran into a minor issue with a broken zipper on the tent.
Just a heads-up for future campers: be ready for a solid hike up the hill to get to the site! It is just as described, just over a quarter mile to gain 230' in elevation 💪
Beautiful setup overall—would definitely recommend.
