Once a working farm, Grey Owl Hollow sat fallow for over 20 years.

The densely planted lumber forest was trimmed and thinned, allowing deer and other wildlife migration while providing shady campsites for nature lovers.

Grey Owl Hollow is in trust and is intended to remain a nature sanctuary for future generations. Our 20 acre piece of heaven includes a fir tree forest for cool camping in the heat of summer. Romp with your dog through the rolling meadow, meditate or play in the 35' labyrinth and - in early fall - help yourselves to blackberries and apples in the orchard. Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, while coyotes, owls, and frogs may serenade you in the evening.
We are firm believers in the value of time in the woods as a balm for physical, psychological, and emotional distress. We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access.
There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!!

Guests love it here: "What a nice surprise! I was not sure what to expect staying on a horse ranch, but it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Kristy was an awesome host and there was one other group up by the rv pad, but we hardly saw them. Dogs were very friendly and Kristy let us use a propane fire-pit to provide warmth and a fire for our tent site. The bathrooms were clean and there was some water by our site, but we did not use it.
The camp, for the tent site… we arrived and she drove us all over her property and told us to just choose where we wanted to camp. We chose to stay in back of the horse area. While we could see the house from there, we didn’t care and if you want to move back in the woods further, there are spots back there too that would provide more privacy if you need that. This is a great site and a one of a kind experience being that close to the horses."

This was our second annual overnight trip to Grey Owl Hollow! As always, Seth & Yvonne are always so welcoming, and their property is beautiful.
For group camp sites, I don't think you can get any better. Electricity in the main camp, sink and running potable water, and plenty of room for several large tents. A noticeable upgrade was the automatic lights in the bathroom! This made going to the bathroom in the evening much easier.
Overall, we love Grey Owl Hollow and can't wait to come back next year!

We had a great time camping here. Nelda set up some tables and chairs for us which were a huge help when cooking and managing our gear. There was a lot of wood around the site and she had created a little tent bed out of wood chips! The site is a well cleared space in the trees which had plenty of room for our 10 person tent and a gap for the firepit. It's not listed but she also had a camp toilet for us which was helpful. There is one good spot and maybe a second decent spot for hanging a hammock. We didn't have any issues with animals. And the property was able ro accompdate our two cars without any fuss or getting in other campers' way. Over all this site was a great compromise, offering wide spaces out on country roads while still having a trickle of cell service and access to town!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Borders
We had a great stay here! The campsite was private with a huge open field that made it feel like you had the whole place to yourself. One of our favorite parts was watching the deer grazing along the edge of the property throughout the day; it was such a peaceful place!
The host was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. There are also several great hiking trails nearby, which made it the perfect weekend getaway. Just be sure to purchase a Discovery Pass ahead of time if you plan on hiking, as all of the trailheads require one.
We’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape!

My wife, dog and I loved tent camping at this spot. We had plenty of room for our 1 tent and car in the main area of the site. The dog loved being able to run around off leash and we felt like we had a ton of privacy with all of the large surrounding trees and farmland. There was access to a lazily floating river ~200 yards from camp through some undergrowth that made it tricky to get to the river.
Ashley was very communicative and quick to respond to any questions we had.
The one downside is that the site is pretty close to an active train line that has a train once/hour during the day and a couple times during the night. It didn't bother us as we live close to an airport, but it could be an issue for others.

We were able to walk the entire farm—viewing the fruit and nut trees, the berry groves, the fields, the ponds, and the abundant wildlife. The hosts were some of the kindest people we have ever met—going above and beyond their duties as hosts. We have made lifelong friends.

So peaceful. For my husband and myself it was a great experience. We did absolutely nothing but relax, read and enjoy the view. Unfortunately Mt Rainier decided not to show herself. We saw a huge eagle and a Red Tail Hawk. Because of this we had to keep a very, very close eye on our 13 lb dog.
Our neighbors were a delight as well.
