Rogue Trout Retreat is a brand new recreation destination, offering ~5 open acres of primitive camping and 700+ feet of private trout fishing that connects to the Crooked Creek Fee Fishing park and Wildlife Reserve. There is a safari tent at the far end of this property as a different listing. This land has three hookups for a small trailer, car, truck, van or tent. Car camping is allowed and appreciated. each hookup has power, water, a camp charcoal grill, picnic table, and that running water right beside each site. There is a small bathhouse with a conventional toilet, and an outside shower with hot water at the gated entrance of the property. Each site is located right by the water for easy fishing access, in this trout stocked water. In the winter months, if it is below freezing temps, there may not be running water. The Firefly is nestled between trees, on a loud, rushing creek, on a five acre property that is mostly cleared and on a hard surface dead end rd, a few miles from Hillsville, Va. The firefly is comfortable for a small family or a romantic get away for couples. The creek is stocked with trout, with easy access along the creek, perfect for wading, floating, and relaxing to the noise. This has been our 7th time to visit. The road and campsite gravel has vastly improved and a lot of previous brush blocking the views of the river below have been cut back so now you can see it all. Sunsets continue to be spectacular and the hasn't been a better spot to relax throughout the day and take it all in.

Jodee's camp is set with love and creativity. Clean and pretty washroom, outdoor showers are the appreciated features of the rustic comfort. The electrical outlets on sites and a washing machine available - surprisingly present at such a decent price. The creek and the frog's songs after the sunset, the stargazing... we had a relaxing evening and a happy night.

What a site!! The view is breathtaking. We were at site three and we couldn’t really see the water well from our site I think site one and two had better views idk about 4,5,6. There was a deck down below our site with a picnic table no railing that had the most amazing view of like the whole river. Site are big and private Hookup was great. Follow the yellow posters on the side of the road to get to the site. One of our favorite places we stayed so far.
