Had a great time. It's super private. Dwight was great. Hands down the best space my wife and I have been at so far on this website.
My family loved camping on Dwight's land! My boyfriend and I went on our own before and couldn't wait to come back with the kids. Now the kids can't wait to go back and spend more time here. This is easily our favorite camping spot. The space, view, and kindness are all more than we could have hoped for. Thanks for sharing your land and passion for outdoors, Dwight! :)
The property is an idyllic location for so many activities. Great scenery, excellent fishing, beautiful walks, challenging hikes on a perfectly (but not over done) improved camping facility. Dwight, the host, is fantastic! Met me on arrival, guided me to the camp sites and gave me invaluable information on fishing Laural Lake. Most of all he was responsive and receptive to any request. Just a good laid back dude! I hesitate with such a rave review because I want it to myself! GO!
We had a great time camping here. We enjoyed the spacious wooded area as well as the lake which was great to swim in. There is a big fire pit and 2 tent pads on the hillside. Lake access is at the bottom of the hill with a covered picnic table, floating dock, and smaller fire pit. You can park at either spot since the driveway loops around. A nice bonus to the site were the electrical outlets and some string lights at the tent pad and picnic table. Dwight was an excellent host. He brought us down to the site on arrival to show us around and was available during our stay. Cell signal was great. Looking forward to staying here again!

This is heaven n earth. The host went out of his
Way to ensure we were comfortable. Dwight ensures you are comfortable then allows you stay to be private and without interruption. If peace is what you are looking for ,here it is. Also, the stars shine brighter than I had saw anywhere due to lack of light pollution. The lake was pristine and full of hungry fish. Could not have asked for a more wonderful place to wind down and relax. Would strongly recommend and look forward to future visits.

This was a great spot for camping with easy water access for swimming and letting our dog cool off! The site is in the woods so it stays cool during the day. You have a 30 second walk down to the water and the dock is a great place to stargaze. The mornings are quiet and the little lake is so smooth, and in the evenings you have a great view for the sunset.
Found the “watershed” on a last minute search for a scenic tent site. I have to say, I couldn’t have found a better site. The host, Dwight was very patient, courteous and told good stories. We were able to learn about his land and family while enjoying the beauty that he’s built for himself and now others.
I can’t recommend this site enough. The views are unparalleled, the lake/watershed is clean, beautiful and full of fish. Brought my pole and caught three small mouthed bass (I usually catch nothing.) We brought our two small dogs and they had plenty of safe space to enjoy.
The site has room for two tents with enough privacy if camping in a group. There is plenty of room to park 1-2 standard sized vehicles and there are two fire pits and a covered gazebo at the dock to enjoy in all weather scenarios. Dwight even had some string lights set up at the tent sites and the gazebo for ease of use at night.
We will certainly be coming back to enjoy this beautiful piece of the mountains. Thank you Dwight!
Dwights camp site is absolutely beautiful and he was a great host! You could not find a more beautiful spot. Waterfront on a lake. He has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and stress free. We will definitely come again.
Don’t wait to book this…..just book it! Dwight is the kinda host you want, super helpful, very personal and easy to talk to! The site is perfect, the view is better than perfect and the hospitality is best part! Great fishing, close to hiking on the parkway, close to Mt Airy.
The weekend spent on Dwight's land was the best weekend I've had in a while!! It quickly became my favorite camping spot in NC when I saw how close we were to the water, that there was a shelter with a table and chairs for when it rained, options to set up tents, and the stars were beautiful at night.
Not to mention, my dogs had an amazing time!! They enjoyed swimming, fetching the ball, riding on the paddle boards/kayaks, and running their little hearts out.
Dwight was very accommodating and allowed us to use his gator so my mini van didn't get stuck from the rain. He also had VERY clean porta potties which impressed me because I usually avoid those things like the plague..
The only thing I would have changed was out of Dwight's control, and that was the fire ban across the entire state of North Carolina right now. If there wasn't a ban, we would have absolutely used his fire ring!! I already have plans to come back and cannot wait for my kids to experience this as well
