Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries.
We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

Crooked Mountain is a family and Veteran-owned farm, campground, camp store, and small event venue located just ½ mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 159 near Floyd, Virginia.
We designed Crooked Mountain to be a unique basecamp for travelers exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially those traveling by van, car, motorcycle, bicycle, or with small RVs. With easy access from the Parkway and scenic mountain roads nearby, it’s a great stop for road trippers, vanlifers, and anyone on two wheels exploring Southwest Virginia.
The campground currently offers 15 campsites across the farm:
• 7 sites on Pine Creek (Sites 1 & 12 have electric)
• 5 field campsites with open views of the surrounding hills
• 3 field sites with electric near the pond (Sites 13–15)
Electric sites provide 30/20 amp power only. There are no water or sewer hookups at campsites.
Guests can enjoy the natural setting of the property and access our hiking trail, fishing pond (catch n release for a fee) and other amenities on the farm while staying here.
Our camp store offers tourism information about Floyd and the surrounding area (including local motorcycle/bicycle maps and routes, along with artisan goods, camping essentials (things you may have forgotten), snacks, drinks, coffee, ice, firewood and more.
During the summer months we also open our fields for a You-Pick flower experience, where guests can purchase a container and create their own bouquet. Flower season typically runs July through September.
Crooked Mountain is located along The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail, and the town of Floyd is just 4 miles away, offering live music, local restaurants, breweries, galleries, and the famous Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store.

Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space.
Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life.
All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky.
We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays. We also don't offer longterm rentals as we focus on short term camping.

This is an active 55-acre horse farm. About 2/3rds of the property is developed with barns and fenced pastures and the other third is largely undeveloped areas with a loop driveway where most of the camp sites are located. There is a large white house at the far end of the property. The restroom for campers to use is located there. To one side of the driveway, on the way to the house there is a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo.
The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

As the source of the Falls, Sweet Springs Creek, serves as a long, unique home for trout, calcified travertine rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams (as well as active ones!). Beaverdam Falls is a rare place for the lack of stone and the centuries of beavers who have left their trace in & on our creek—and swamp, the Stick Marsh, which has an active beaver dam. Be careful! They do bite!

The Guinea farm is 18 acres of field and forest on the rural middle peninsula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded dog friendly beaches and a boat launch. There is very little traffic or light pollution here, nature is at your fingertips.
Come visit the farm and experience agritourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the wilderness and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle peninsula.
There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria Treehouse site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy Micro Cabinz is in the pines 700' beyond that and separated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an off grid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property.
Each site is surrounded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large field. There are roaming guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack.
There is an axe throwing board and cornhole boards available.
4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

The Farm was originally named 2nd 4o by my parents. They planned to live the 2nd forty years of their lives together on the farm. My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. This did not last long :) but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall!
Then my husband & I bought The Farm in 2017 for the 2nd forty years of our life & my parents built their little house right here. My husband and I immediately knew that our dream was to grow a different kind of "tree", so in 2019 we were among the first group to receive our license to grow hemp. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants!
In 2020 when it finally became legal to grow cannabis, we immediately added that to our garden as well and 2nd 40 to 420 was born, or shall I say planted. We currently rent out our 2 RV's 3 Yurts & primitive sites , we also offer group bookings & Canna-friendly B&B options. We plan to add septic & electric hook-ups for RV's in the near future.

The cottage features a full-size bed, a queen sleeper sofa, and a twin bed in the loft. Guests also have access to a private fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Two tent sites are available and include a fire pit, charcoal grill (charcoal provided) and picnic table. No electrical hookups. But potable spring water can be provided.

Great host, great converted shed, very comfortable. Faces south overlooking a pasture, i didnt spend much time outside until evenings when the fireflies were popping. Trail behind cabin you can hike, meant to be trails, I just have a bum leg so cant report on that. Beautiful location.

The sweet, little cabin was just right for two. The decor (little touches), kitchen, grilling supplies, comfortable bed and pillows, reliable internet, and a/c were enhanced by the peaceful outdoors, star gazing and the Clean, *Nice smelling potty house. We did not have time to walk the trails, but the thought was inviting. Susannah was prompt in responses, willing to help if needed, and friendly. For our in route trip, this was an ideal place to stay.

The campsite was great and worked well for tent camping, the hosts were very welcoming, and the shower was a plus! It wasn't the most secluded site though, there was noise from nearby dogs barking and dirt bikes going by on the road.

The hosts were so accommodating and very friendly. Great with communication as we made our way there. We stayed at site rv11 which provided a large space attached to an open field. There is a big tree for shade. Water and electric hookups provided. Good WiFi allowed us to keep track of the World Cup soccer which was great! We were right near the river which offered lovely background sound. Our pups loved romping in the water in the river as well. The bathrooms/showers were very clean. The campground was close to some great hikes which is what drew us there. Loved st Mary’s falls (holiday weekend so super busy) and also Crabtree Falls trail. Both close by and great hikes. There was mention of the train track nearby but trains passed very infrequently and also the sound was muffled by the river and the woods so if anything we found it very pleasant, romantic soft background sound. I think only 2 trains in the several days we were there.

Had a great time! Ian was a great host and responded quickly if needed firewood or anything. Daughters loved visiting the Guinea fowls. The Guineas would come visit the camp site in the evening. The house was very cool and comfortable! Thanks!

We had such a good time! The creek right next to the campsite was such a highlight and as biology students we saw so much cool wildlife! (And multiple pets that really made our stay special) it was super hot (as summer camping tends to be) but between cooling down in the creek and getting a little break in the air conditioned bathroom we were still able to really enjoy ourselves. You could hear cars for. The nearby road but it wasn’t super busy, made for a great get away!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The property was beautiful, the amenities were amazing, and the road noise was nonexistent. The porta potty’s were a little buggy as one might expect, but nothing you can’t handle. We camped from our car so bugs didn’t bother us too much at night. The picnic tables scattered around the property were really nice, and we barely saw other campers so privacy was an added bonus. We ended our evening swimming in the stream across the street, and woke up the next morning to swim again! Our favorite part had to be the stocked trout stream, the fishing and swimming was to die for, and the blue crystal clear water made for some unbelievable pictures. This property has so much more to offer, from horseback riding, to trails, to golf cart and atv rentals, the pool, family restaurant, on site laundry and dump station, the deli/bait shop, and all sorts of free animal activities. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody looking for a gorgeous stay right near Shenandoah National Park, for an unbeatable price!

Great spot! Private, the creek was a pleasant background noise. We had our dog with us and heard coyotes at night and we got a visit from a super cute, super fluffy, super friendly kitty in the morning. The campsite is also in close proximity to a farm with cows and you can hear them during the day, we didn't notice any smells, though. This was a great campsite and we will likely be back for more than a night, as this time we were just passing through.

We had a great time at the tree house! Our three kids are already asking to go back. Ian was responsive and helpful with anything that came up. Haven beach was so close and the perfect family beach, especially for littles. The swings under the treehouse were a huge hit. When we go back we’ll add an extra rechargeable fan and folding table to the packing list. They’re provided, we just wanted one more of each. Looking forward to another trip sooner than later!

Absolutely lovely location and owner, we will definitely be back again when the flower fields bloom! We were staying in site 5 and it was very spacious. I would definitely recommend the creek side sites. The bathroom and shower were also very clean! The hiking trail was very clearly marked so no fear of getting lost. The benches around the pond were also lovely to just sit and chat while the sun sets! Overall would highly recommend this spot 🌞

Beautiful location. The horse pastures boarded the campground, some trees and shade, put toilets and some water (not sure if it’s potable). Service is minimal to none (t-moble was 0 bars) which we like. Only issue we had was the flies, campfire smoke helped a bit but they tenacious. A short drive in either direction to enter Shenandoah Park. A Walmart 30m away but they have a lovely camp store down the street and wonderful corner store up the road.
