About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. Welcome to Texas Safari Camp Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. Use of firepit and grill, kayaks and paddleboards, rod & reels, hammocks, swinging chair and tire swing is included. Firewood can be purchased $1 per stick

Each site is private. When the ground is dry there is access for all vehicles. When the ground is muddy, Brookside, RiverRock, and Richardson Creek campsites require a 4-wheel drive and have alternate routes to get to them. Ancient Oaks is an all-weather site. You can enjoy hiking and swimming in Richardson Creek when water levels permit. Canoeing from Bakers Crossing put-in which is only 3 miles away. Paradise on Lake Texoma (formerly Paradise Cove) is a beautiful, secluded commercial campground located in the "Big Mineral Arm'' of Lake Texoma. Built in the 80's by the Corps of Engineers, Paradise has been a mainstay of the lake for many years. Recently, the current management team are working to grow Paradise into something special. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake! The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos! We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding. The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.  In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family. We’re always a text away! You’ll see us out and about on our golf carts. If you ever need anything just holler (: Check-in time is at 3 pm. At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot. If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park! At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights. Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

The campsites are well spaced and several have large Oak tree canopy/shade. We encourage campers to purchase our firewood, we will make sure you have what you need at a fair price. I will also provide you with a small bundle of firewood for free upon arrival. The bundle is enough for one fire. Please be respectful. This is my home (35 years) and I do not need any help redecorating or rearranging. Please treat my property as you would want your home treated by a guest. No tobacco, but if you choose to smoke, do it in your vehicle. I work from my home. My workspace is separated and you will have your privacy. my workspace is separate from campsites and is off limits. We had a great time at Texas Safari Camp! We were visiting from California and this was our first camping experience in Texas; it exceeded all expectations! Randall was a great host who showed us around his property and made us feel welcomed and comfortable right off the bat. We stayed in the treehouse which was cozy and perfect for one adult and two kids. We had an extra adult sleep outside on a hammock which worked out well for us. The pond, nature trails, fields for playing and camp fire made for a fun get away for all ages. We would love to visit again in the future!

Wes’s property was just a pit stop while heading north, but I’d gladly come back and spend several nights here. The ac helped keep us and the dogs comfortable during the Texas heat, and the views are out of this world. If you’re traveling past dusk, definitely use the precise gps coordinates he gives you to find the entrance since it can be hard to see at night. (Wes clearly mentions this and his directions are great). The deck’s views are spectacular and definitely the highlight of the property There is a bit of road noise till late at night since the property isn’t far from the road, but it can’t be heard while inside the shelter if ac is running.

What a beautiful treat out in the desert! The view of El Capitan from the roof top is superb. Wonderful, communicative hosts! Instructions were smooth and clear!! Clean outhouse facility. We really enjoyed our trip. This was our first camping trip after losing a dear family member - we had a mission to climb Guadalupe Peak again in honor of his birthday, and this was the perfect location to acclimate the day before and then relax afterwards at the end of the day!! Highly recommend booking with Good Guad!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We are truly grateful for such a wonderful stay! ❤️ We visited last Saturday, and unfortunately, the rain came down quite heavily. We were a little worried that the weather might ruin our family camping experience, but our amazing host went above and beyond and generously allowed us to upgrade our booking to a cabin. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to us. Instead of worrying about the rain, we were able to relax, stay warm and comfortable, and simply enjoy precious time together as a family. 🥰 Thank you so much for your kindness, understanding, and hospitality. Sometimes it’s the little acts of kindness that make a trip truly memorable, and your thoughtfulness made our stay extra special. ❤️ We had such a great time and would absolutely love to come back again. I loved the way the cabins were spaced out enough for privacy. The grounds were nice. The only recommendation I have is to have the guest that are traveling with pets pick up their pets waste. I seen plenty of pet owners walk their dogs to use the bathroom but not pick up after them. Other than that it was great

Had a great time! It was our first glamp so if it helps anyone: wifi password is not in greeting msg and is in location listing, tent gets dark and outdoor shower doesn't have light so bring your lantern, and there is very limited surface to cook so bringing folding table helps.

Absolutely stunning, both the accommodation and location. We've been to quite a few unusual hipcamps and off-grid airbnbs and this was by far the cleanest and maintained of them all. We were able to get a hike in early and come back to rest in the AC before cooking lunch and heading out. I'd say we hope to be back sometime, but no idea when we'd be back this way. Would definitely recommend!

I had to pivot from original plans and ended up here last minute. What an incredible slice of magic. Everything was so clean and straightforward. The outhouse became one of my most favorite photos out on the property. The night sky here will keep you late enough that you’ll miss a good sunrise, and you’ll still be satisfied.
