The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park! At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights. Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

Each site is private. When the ground is dry there is access for all vehicles. When the ground is muddy, Brookside, RiverRock, and Richardson Creek campsites require a 4-wheel drive and have alternate routes to get to them. Ancient Oaks is an all-weather site. You can enjoy hiking and swimming in Richardson Creek when water levels permit. Canoeing from Bakers Crossing put-in which is only 3 miles away. Some places to check out while you are here include Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, Granbury Historic Square, Stephenville Rodeo, Bakers Crossing River Put-In, Oakdale Plunge Pool, and BigRocks Park in Glen Rose. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake! The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos! We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding. The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.  In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family. We’re always a text away! You’ll see us out and about on our golf carts. If you ever need anything just holler (: Check-in time is at 3 pm. Our staff works really hard to make sure everything is perfect for your stay and we can’t guarantee it will be if you arrive before then. Parking, we work really hard to keep our property beautiful. Welcome to Texas Safari Camp Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. Use of firepit and grill, kayaks and paddleboards, rod & reels, hammocks, swinging chair and tire swing is included. Firewood can be purchased $1 per stick

I had to pivot from original plans and ended up here last minute. What an incredible slice of magic. Everything was so clean and straightforward. The outhouse became one of my most favorite photos out on the property. The night sky here will keep you late enough that you’ll miss a good sunrise, and you’ll still be satisfied. The hosts were so kind and prompt.

I enjoyed this campsite because of the amazing sunrises and sunsets. Your campsite allowed my husband and myself to explore the terrain with cool fat tire bicycles. Our hostess was great! Stephanie made sure we were informed about potential rattlesnakes and that was much appreciated. Can’t wait to visit again.!

Weekend Trip to Sparrow Bend River Retreat

We had a blast and cooled off with our dogs! We stayed in the water most of the time. Our little scamper site was perfect to get away and unwind in nature. Hosts were fantastic and responsive. We cooked dinner and breakfast and sat outside. It was a great little getaway.

Very nice place, very clean, looks brand-new. Fantastic location, the cabin itself is an absolute attraction. Great idea, transformed the best way possible. A bucket-list level experience. Loved it throughout. Also incredible view onto the mountains and night sky. Milky Way to reach out and touch. Location easy to access, getting in and out was a breeze. Host instructions and communication exemplary. Definitely will come back!

Weekend Trip to this is Paradise on Lake Texoma

Paradise at Texoma gave my 18-year-old pup, Chloe (“Chlo Money”), and me a trip I’ll never forget. She was recently diagnosed with cancer, and this was our last adventure together before I have to say goodbye. We traded camping for glamping, and I truly couldn’t have picked a better place. We spent our days relaxing under the stars, eating great food, letting her enjoy the lake, and making memories I’ll carry with me forever. Thank you, Paradise at Texoma, for giving us the perfect place for one final adventure together. It meant more to me than words can express.

We had such a great time! While it was hot in the Texas heat, the A/C in the tent was great. We pretty much h has the place to ourselves, the fire pit & grill were perfect for evenings & our dogs had a blast being outside and exploring. We would definitely stay again!

My partner and I stayed at Li'l Capitan Cabin for two nights and loved the spot! I had originally booked it as just a place to sleep after a day of exploring the area but every time we got back to camp, instead of going to bed because we were tired, we ended up on the roof, watching the skies, and scoping out desert critters with headlamps. I've never been excited to see a rattlesnake up until now so thanks for that Wes. I was hesitant to use the outhouse because snakes and other desert crittings but that thing is cleaner than my home bathroom. The walk to it at night might be a little far for some but headlamps are a thing so it shouldn't be an issue. Finding the location was a little tricky on night one but Wes SPECIFICALLY told me to come before dark on day one. Guess who didn't listen to that? Me. It was me. Once you see it the first time it's impossible to miss after that but that first time you really should heed his warnings. Will definitely be planning another stay when it's less dry so that I can have a fire on site and kind of just camp out here.

Overall, we had a great stay! Everything was clean and well-maintained. My babies absolutely loved the bunk beds—they were definitely a highlight of the trip. The waterfront property was beautiful, and it was just a short walk to the river, which we really enjoyed. The location was also perfect—close to a little town that has everything you might need if you forget anything, and less than an hour’s drive to Enchanted Rock and Fredericksburg, making it a great home base for exploring the area. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

1 night at Dos Rios - Hill Country Adventure

I loved being able to explore the land along the river. Interesting rock formations and plants. I didn't know it, but the area is one of the best in Texas for rock hunting! The camp is peaceful. I enjoyed lying in one of the many hammocks, stargazing and listening to the cicadas and tree frogs. No cell service was a blessing but there's civilization 10 minutes away if you need anything. The Jupe was comfortable. Next time, I want to bring some family and rent a cabin. Tent site one looks perfect for hammock camping. The bathhouse was clean and air conditioned, which was a welcome surprise. I would have liked to have gone on a tubing adventure, but couldn't get in contact with the owners. That's my only caveat and it's minor since there were so many things to do.
