Our stay at this campsite was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcomed. He provided a container of water and explained camp rules. The campsite was clean and thoughtfully maintained, with plenty of room between sites with trees and brush to maintain privacy for a relaxing experience. The location was stunning—I just love the high desert landscape and is surrounded by mountains that lit up at sunset. The skies at night were beautifully dark and clear, perfect for stargazing. It felt like we had a front-row seat to nature’s best show. During the morning, my son had an absolute blast exploring and catching lizards, while I got to unwind in the hammock and soak in the peaceful sounds of birds and the breeze through the trees. It was the perfect mix of adventure and tranquility. All with close proximity to the lake and adventures in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this campsite!!

A warm, cozy and convenient cabin only minutes from town. Family/kid friendly. Lots of kid activities to keep them busy. Overhead loft with plenty of space for people to sleep on the provided floor sleeping pads. Includes a microwave, mini fridge, two tables one for kids and adults, coffee maker, and lots more! Right outside the cabin is a super cute swing, table and chairs, campfire with lots of chairs, covered ping pong table and much more! The hosts are wonderful people! We will definitely be back!

Wow! We had the most pleasant time camping. Fred, the host, was so accommodating and friendly. He had freshly mowed an area for our Subaru (we car camp). We were offered water, but we brought our own, and there is an extremely clean portapotty. Even though we were near his campsite, it was still private. The stars were incredible! And the scenery was relaxing. We just needed a campsite within driving distance of Smith Rock (it’s about a 50 minute drive) and we got so much more!! I’m saving this place & telling anyone who cares to listen about it.

Weekend Trip to Log Shelter Retreat

Clay and Julie are hospitable and kind, and the RV was lovely and a perfect resting spot during a road trip. Working stove, outlets, a quaint outdoor common space, and the best-kept porta-potty I’ve ever encountered! Would recommend to anyone passing through the area. Beware the mosquitoes though, and don’t forget bug spray and layers.

1 night at Shelter Sanctuary Camping Paradise

Absolutely one of the most gorgeous, private and serene locations we’ve ever stayed. Attention to detail was amazing. From the beautiful fire pits (with unlimited free firewood), the rain shelters, solar lighting, double hammock and furniture made from their own small saw mill (wood from fallen trees only) the campsites are immaculate. Ours was set at the edge of a pristine meadow surrounded by a healthy forest of doug fir, sugar pine, maple and more. It is a birders paradise, alive with the sounds of wild turkeys, tree swallows and pileated woodpeckers. Walking along a lovely creek, past a pond of native cutthroat trout and getting a tour of one of the healthiest vegetable gardens we’ve seen by Richard, the owner, was one of the many highlights of our stay. We really appreciated at how environmentally conscious the owner is with this property. There are lots of trails in the vicinity. We hiked the McKenzie River trail from Sahalie Falls to Blue Pool and back - stunningly beautiful! Castle Rock trailhead is only a 2 minute drive. Can’t wait for our next stay!

We had a wonderful experience at this peaceful ranch. The RV spot was private, clean, and well maintained, with easy access to well water, a port-o-potty, and 30-amp electric. They even provided an outdoor table and chairs with an oil lamp, perfect for enjoying the warmer nights. It was so relaxing to stay in the pasture, surrounded by fields, cows, and a few baby owls. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic spot to unwind.

Most feel they are pretty much 'on their own' in this retreat area with the option for seclusion OR mingling if so desired. Located on a quite circle with the far away country feel yet minutes to lots of shopping. Bring your camp trailer or a tent (There is a flat spot designed for tents). You will have access to a picnic table, a round patio table, propane barbeque (Propane included) with a one cook top burner, water and a 20-amp hookup. The campsite boards a small farm with goats, sheep etc. so, you will hear them from time to time. Located in Central Oregon just minutes from Tumalo State Park and found on the Deschutes River. The river runs through downtown Bend offering a lazy river experience. There are plenty of float rental companies in town which also offer shuttle service. The Deschutes River has an amphitheater boarding it with top name bands every few weeks. This site is less than ten minutes from "The Cascade Village Shopping Center" (www.shopcascadevillage.com) which has lots of restaurants and a large variety of shopping (Trader Joes, Local Acers supermarket, restaurants, Lowes, Target, and lots more. Ten minutes to the north is Tumalo town offering food carts at “The Bite” (www.thebitetumalo.com) with tasty local beers on tap, two cider tasting rooms (Bend Cider and Tumalo Cider). In Tumalo Town, you will find a general store offering refillable beer and cider growlers, propane, gas, and diesel. In Tumalo town, you will also find a coffee shop, pizza parlor, farmstand with local produce, a tavern with pool tables and the historic “Tumalo Feed Co. Steakhouse” (www.tumalofeedcosteakhouse.com) with an old town western feel. For you adventures rock climbing visitors, there’s Smith Rock State Park 30 minutes north and Mt Bachelor 50 minutes to the west for you downhill and Nordic skiers in the winter with plenty of mountain biking and hiking in the Phil’s trail system in the summer. 15 minutes north is “Well Rooted” (https://wellrootedfarms.co yep without the m at the end of their website) where you can pick your own fresh produce, buy meats etc. Fifteen minutes to the west is the Tumalo Reservoir for some quit walking and spectacular views of the mountains. I do not have a dump station; I do offer a portable restroom that gets serviced once a week. If you have a trailer, there's a dump station, "Camp World" charging a $10 flat fee located 3.2 miles from the camp site.

Pets allowed, toilets on site, campfires permitted when burn ban is not in place. Now up until this year I have provided Free Firewood. I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake, not having them run thru everyone else's camp sites. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no yapper's, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. You need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.

We recently relocated to Redmond and LOVE being here! It has allowed us the opportunity to enjoy everything Central Oregon has to offer and we hope you too can experience and enjoy it as much as we do. It's all about making memories. It's also perfect for Fall/Winter fun and avoiding the summer crowds. Simply stay on our 5 acre property with complete hook ups if you're looking to avoid the bustle of downtown and it's hotel prices! Our property is about 5 acres and tent spots are first come first serve with about 1 acre being closer to our house with shady grassy areas. The other 4 acres are in the pasture and mostly unshaded. Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. We offer shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars. If coming for The Farewell Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds for the weekend so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!! If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis). We are close to Bachelor for skiing, Smith Rock for hiking, Sisters for shopping, too many lakes to name and 20mins to all Bend has to offer and so much more!

Quiet RV Parking in Midtown Bend

We are a 5-10 min drive from pretty much everything in town, could walk or ride bikes to downtown/old mill/box factory, etc. Sometimes larger RV's can kill our breaker, its just a 110V plug. We will do our best to accommodate power and water needs, but just a heads up that the larger or older models can cut the breaker and may not be viable on our power system. Our site offers room for one campervan or an SUV/pickup with small camper. Back-in only please. Expect peekaboo mountain views of Broken Top, Tam McArthur Rim, the Three Sisters, Mt. Washington and Mt. Jefferson. Walk down and meet the sheep. We have blackbelly sheep, a small flock that consists of Chewbacca (the big guy) and Bo Peep and Lucy and Blondie and assorted lambs. Let yourself in to the log cabin. It's a great spot to get out of the rain and play checkers if you want. There is also a propane fire pit. Open fires are not allowed. If you picked up food at The Bite in Tumalo or the The Barn in Sisters, you are welcome to use the picnic table too. And there's a swing next to the sheep pen too.

One can quickly and easily walk to the river trail from our house. By going up river, one gets the sense of being remote and in the forest along a well maintained trail that makes a 3 miles loop with many rapids visible from the trail. By walking down river, one can quickly access Hayden Homes Amphitheater, Old Mill shopping and Downtown on a paved walking path.
