This is a very nice spot. Plenty of space for a couple of tents, chairs, fire ring and firewood, kitchen area, outhouse, and shower. The directions to get there were accurate and helpful but the road is very bumpy. I would not recommend staying here if you have a sedan and smaller vehicle. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved the setup of the site. It would definitely suit a larger group well, though I stayed here with just one other person and found it enjoyable.

Beautiful quiet and secluded campsite! Sunrise/sunset was stunning from here and the stargazing was amazing! The outdoor shower was a nice feature. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Will definitely come back here!

Amenities to the Max!
Gretchen's property was beautiful, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could need. The outhouse and open air shower were both very clean and offered incredible views. Would definitely visit again.

Easy, beautiful
Tent camping was easy. All I had to bring was my tent, water and some food—they had a compostable toilet, shower, grill, camp stove, propane fire pit, picnic table, and some chairs. Was very cute with great attention to details.

Perfect spot for star gazing and watching the sun set over the Cascades. My favorite feature was the outdoor shower with plenty of room for three tents and hanging out by the grill. We brought our own canopy to have some shade during breakfast, highly recommend.

The location was remote but still close to the activities we had planned. The site was ultra clean, and the outdoor shower and bathroom made the stay so much more enjoyable. Other amenities we appreciated were the chairs, BBQ, and propane fire pit. Thanks, Gretchen, for sharing your space with us!

The space was wonderful. We had incredible mountain views and the site was lovely. The bathroom was great and the outdoor shower was so refreshing in the morning. Site had a grill, propane campfire, wash station for dishes and just about everything you might need :) During the summer, be sure to bring your own shade- we had a shade structure for the picnic table and it helped with the desert sun. We’d definitely be back!

We had a great stay! Site was well organized with great touches including path lights and fun decor in the outhouse. The outdoor shower was great to rinse off/feel clean after the heat of the day. The kitchen area had just what we needed and we enjoyed the propane fire pit while watching sunset both nights. We followed other camper’s advice and brought our own pop up shelter and that was super helpful advice. We saw rabbits, lizards and eagles from the site and the view/stars were beautiful. Thanks for a great experience!

We loved Gretchen’s property! Super clean, great views and star gazing. Propane fire pit is a nice touch since we generally have a fire ban.
I recommend bringing a pop up tent (farmers market style) for some shade if you’re going during the summer.

Sky for miles!
A piece of paradise! Love how remote and quiet it was. There were a few other campers nearby, but we never even saw anyone else.
Come for the stars and the blue sky! The shower is amazing, toilet is clean and well managed. If you’re in a tent, be sure to bring an awning for shade, that is the only thing not built in. Thanks for providing picnic table, bbq and campfire!
Would love to come back here. Fishing on the Crooked River is close.

Tent camping here was a great experience. Hot shower and compost toilet were great to have after long days. Pretty remote site - there are people staying at the back of the property but you definitely have all the privacy in the world being at this spot. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful site and the stars were incredible. The bathrooms and the shower were really awesome. Clean and comfortable
The pictures made the site seem more private than it actually was.
There is the owners site that is pretty close and then there is an area behind the camp that looks like abandoned vehicles but there are people staying out there too which was surprising to find out in the middle of the night.
There was mice in the grill when we opened it up the first night. Which makes sense it being outside but be warned it’s a possibility!

Everything was wonderful! The views are the highlight!! So nice to have a toilet and shower. There were paper plates, toiletries, firewood and a BBQ. Lighted gravel paths were a great bonus.
Only comment was that it would have been nice to pull up closer to the site.

This was our second trip to Gretchen and Larry's and we had yet another amazing time, even with all the rain! Everything about this place is perfect! The shower, the restroom, the fire pit, the grill, the view, ALL of it! Absolutely worth every penny! Well maintained and they keep adding to it, which is awesome!

Absolutely wonderful place for quietness and the stars! 100% recommend this place and will be coming back in the future. The outhouse was clean and odor free and the shower was amazing to come back to at the end of a long day exploring. Everything was clean and there were so many amenities. Nice, wonderful, scenic space in the beautiful desert.

Great stay!
We enjoyed tent camping on Gretchen’s property! The compost toilet worked well, the site was well-designed and the camp kitchen well-stocked. Gorgeous high desert views and a view to the Sisters in the distance. Loved the big sky sunrises and sunsets.

Great base location for exploring Bend and hiking at Smith Rock State park! Nice camp setup with picnic table and chairs. We so appreciated the bbq grill as it was too windy during our stay to use the camp stove or fire pit. The composting toilet was well designed and clean and the shower area was lovely but the nights were too cold to have the water turned on.

This was a awesome campsite. The hosts when above and beyond! It has everything you need and I mean EVERYTHING. Also, the road is not as rough or bumpy as other reviews suggest it’s just a typical ranch road. Loved our stay and definitely staying again.
