Prineville Acres is a 2 acre, flat and peaceful, uninhabited rustic getaway in Prineville to enjoy all to yourself. It is located 7 minutes from Prineville Reservoir and 12 minutes from town. The property is situated on a quiet corner, and is best suited for dry campers who want a more private experience as there is no host on site and you do not share the space with other campers. The center area is cleared of trees, has a newly updated graveled fire ring for warming fires, and a newly graveled RV pad and parking area along one side. There is a deck and a shed used for host storage, and trees surrounding the perimeter of the property. The adjacent 2 acre property is also uninhabited, adding to your sense of privacy, while the neighboring property to the rear has live- in very quiet tenants. Local deer travel through the property at all times of the year so please be respectful of wildlife.
In the summer, bring your boat, kayaks, bikes, paddle boards, off road vehicles or ATV's, and use them in the surrounding waterways, on the nearby public use BLM land, Millican Valley OHV Trail System, or Four Corners Staging Area. Bring your family's fishing poles and take the kids to the local Youth Fishing Pond, nearby Haystack or Ochoco or Prineville Reservoirs that are stocked year-round with trout. Within just a couple minutes of the property is a local petting zoo you are sure to enjoy and be sure to stop in town at Tastee Treet for the best milkshakes and burgers around! We have a Yurt, a cabin, 3 RV/Travel trailer pads and 2 tent sites created here and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space yet be all together. You can book the entire campground, or just one of the units. Whether it's just you, or you're bringing a crew, we know you'll love it here!
Our favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area is Smith Rocks and Chimney Rock. The Prineville reservoir is roughly a 12 minute drive and the starry nights here are something to behold.
Up the road is the most unique petting zoo that we recently found! Find it and you might just be able to hold a baby kangaroo!
Boondocking site means there is no hook-ups or running water so you'll want to bring in your own water and heat if you're here in the colder months.
Your four legged furry family members are welcomed! They must be accompanied at all times and not left on the property alone. The dog run is for you to keep closer tabs on them while relaxing, not for leaving them while going into town or enjoying the area. The dirt is very soft and it wouldn't take very long for them to dig under to get out and go looking for you. The cabin or yurt is also not a pet storage area - with no power or AC, pets are not allowed to be left alone in the dwellings.

Enjoy Cascade Mountain views during the day and unlimited stargazing at night. Camping is situated on 10 acres and just 10 minutes from the Crooked River, Prineville Reservoir and Millican Valley OHV Trail System . A 15 minute drive will take you to a very scenic hike at Chimney Rock Trail. Bend and Prineville are both a 30 minute drive away.
The group tent site has two separate-12' x 14' flat gravel pads and will accommodate tents of all reasonable sizes. Also includes an outdoor shower/compostable toilet, BBQ with picnic area, and propane fire pit.
The other two separate tent sites are roughly 20'x20' flat gravel pads and will accomodate 2 individual tents if needed. Also includes shared compostable toilet and individual propane fire pit.

The 2 mile loop around the neighborhood is scenic and lush with irrigation during the summer months. The 2 fenced acres immediately north of the camping area are for your enjoyment. All of this and more, only 10 minutes from town.
Please note that while good separation exists between your accommodations and our primary residence, you should expect to see and hear us around the property on occasion. Lastly, we are at the far corner of a 2 mile gravel loop, making the drive into our property slow and dusty - and also private!

This is a camping accomodation in an RV that is onsite at our property. You cannot drive it off the property, it remains here at all times. Just bring yourselves and your food and belongings! This 30 foot RV has a queen size bed, seating and dining area, small kitchen space, shower, toilet, refrigerator and electric, wifi and water hookups. Septic dumps are our problem, not yours. Enjoy a fun getaway near Bend for a reasonable price. Up to two dogs allowed.
Historic farm property with standing structures from the early 1900's including the schoolhouse in our driveway and smokehouse at the very back of the lot. Our neighbor across the street grows 30 acres of the best alfalfa around, and we also have ranchers nearby raising sheep, top quality cattle, horses, pygmy goats, rehabilitated former race horses and even peacocks!
Great Bend proximate camping is hard to find. We offer a safe, secure place to camp 10 minutes outside of town with a beautiful farm pond to enjoy in the backyard. We were so honored to be named one of Oregon's top rated HipCamp sites in 2020 and 2021! Thank you! We have taken a break from hosting the last few years and are happy to be back with this new option.
Nearby: Explore trails and Bureau of Land Management (free and open federal property) access nearby for mountain biking, hiking and more. You are welcome and encouraged to explore our property and enjoy all of its peaceful tranquility, including two beautiful ponds. You can walk your dogs without leaving the premises.
Kids love our giant tree house. This is a great place for those with dogs and families. We have dogs and cats but they are friendly with other animals. We ask that you never bring a pet with you who might harm one of ours. There are also wild animals here like deer, hawks, quail, coyotes, porcupines, rockchucks, owls and more.

Our property is about 5 acres and tent spots are first come first serve with about 1 acre being closer to our house with shady grassy areas. The other 4 acres are in the pasture and mostly unshaded.
Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival/Rise Up Reggae Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. Ask about our shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars.
If coming fortheRise Up Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!!
If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis).

We are a hard working family of 5 with 2 dogs and a number of other small animals. We run a quiet / tidy space with access to public lands and walking trails. The 2 mile loop around the neighborhood is scenic and lush with irrigation during the summer months. The 2 fenced acres immediately north of the camping area are for your enjoyment. All of this and more, only 10 minutes from town.
Please note that while good separation exists between your accommodations and our primary residence, you should expect to see and hear us around the property on occasion. Lastly, we are at the far corner of a 2 mile gravel loop, making the drive into our property slow and dusty - and also private!

This is a camping accomodation in an RV that is onsite at our property. You cannot drive it off the property, it remains here at all times. Just bring yourselves and your food and belongings! This 30 foot RV has a queen size bed, seating and dining area, small kitchen space, shower, toilet, refrigerator and electric, wifi and water hookups. Septic dumps are our problem, not yours. Enjoy a fun getaway near Bend for a reasonable price. Up to two dogs allowed.
Historic farm property with standing structures from the early 1900's including the schoolhouse in our driveway and smokehouse at the very back of the lot. Our neighbor across the street grows 30 acres of the best alfalfa around, and we also have ranchers nearby raising sheep, top quality cattle, horses, pygmy goats, rehabilitated former race horses and even peacocks!
Great Bend proximate camping is hard to find. We offer a safe, secure place to camp 10 minutes outside of town with a beautiful farm pond to enjoy in the backyard. We were so honored to be named one of Oregon's top rated HipCamp sites in 2020 and 2021! Thank you! We have taken a break from hosting the last few years and are happy to be back with this new option.
Nearby: Explore trails and Bureau of Land Management (free and open federal property) access nearby for mountain biking, hiking and more. You are welcome and encouraged to explore our property and enjoy all of its peaceful tranquility, including two beautiful ponds. You can walk your dogs without leaving the premises.
Kids love our giant tree house. This is a great place for those with dogs and families. We have dogs and cats but they are friendly with other animals. We ask that you never bring a pet with you who might harm one of ours. There are also wild animals here like deer, hawks, quail, coyotes, porcupines, rockchucks, owls and more.

We relocated to Redmond and LOVE being here! It has allowed us the opportunity to enjoy everything Central Oregon has to offer and we hope you too can experience and enjoy it as much as we do. It's all about making memories. It's also perfect for Fall/Winter fun and avoiding the summer crowds. Simply stay on our 5 acre property with complete hook ups if you're looking to avoid the bustle of downtown and it's hotel prices!
Our property is about 5 acres and tent spots are first come first serve with about 1 acre being closer to our house with shady grassy areas. The other 4 acres are in the pasture and mostly unshaded.
Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival/Rise Up Reggae Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. Ask about our shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars.
If coming fortheRise Up Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!!
If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis).

Summer days are typically warm and dry, while nights cool off dramatically. High desert climate - Redmond is located at about 3,000 feet above sea level.
Electrical hook-up is available for an RV/trailer on the front of the shop building and to the south of the shop on the post. Dry-camping only - no sewage, septic or water hookup is available. 50 amp circuit.
Privacy is not guaranteed. The shop is utilized daily by our family and friends. So, there might be a few visitors throughout the day in the shop.

Hi and welcome to Picknik Place LLC! This is a 20 acre farm, so there is plenty of land to roam free and explore, as well as having your privacy from the primary residents. With this spot, you are nestled under a juniper tree with a lava rock backdrop and can watch the sun dip below the volcanos in the distance. This spot is very simple and tucked away.
While feeling remote and removed from the Bend tourism, it only takes 15 minutes to get downtown, where there are ample restaurants, shops, coffehouses, etc. It takes 7 minutes to get to Trader Joe's and Home Depot, and 10 minutes to get to St. Charles Hospital.
Heads up- as many places in central Oregon, Picknik Place gets pretty dusty and dry in the summer months.

The property is 3.3 miles away from Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center, 4 miles from the airport, 13 miles from Hayden Homes Amphitheater, and 11 miles from Smith Rock State Park. There is no shortage of things to do close by.
During festivals there is a three day minimum for all sites.
No matter the time of year there is always something to do.

Oregon is a 21 and older state. Everyone needs to be 21 years old to smoke cigarettes, marijuana, or drink alcohol so please obey state laws. That being said feel free to partake just be respectful with your cans and butts.

This was a nice place to stay. The day we got there, the owner showed up, showed us around and we were left alone after that. I appreciated that.
The site itself is nice. There are a few good places to put up a tent, but I ended up sleeping in the tipi, which was plenty comfortable and more roomy than my tent. It got down in the low 20s two of the nights we were there, but it kept the wind (and a bit of rain) off nicely.
The camp site sits across a small bridge and down a hill. It's not a long walk by any means, maybe 30-50 feet? But it was nice being able to ride our motorcycles down and park down there.
I'll definitely be adding this place to my roster of camping places.

Beautiful landscape and thoughtfully laid out campground. It was a bit chilly in late March, so the fire pits were handy. I brought my own firewood but they do have some on site for purchase. There is also a very sweet cat that greeted me throughout my trip. I’d come back!

Very private location with amazing views of the mountains, unobstructed sunrise and sunset a the STARS! Zero light pollution means a sky full of twinkling stars. Absolutely phenomenal! Only downside was that there are no trees or natural shade so it started getting warm pretty early and stayed hot til nightfall. No complaints though!

Great camping spot! We showed up on a whim, booked a site, and had a nice night camping! The stars are mind blowing. The area is pretty sandy though, so be prepared for some cleanup afterwards.
There was also a verrrry friendly kitty that came to say hi (and tried to go home with us) which added some fun to the evening.

Sandy and Tim’s tipi was so fun and it’s beautifully made! Inside, it’s spacious enough to setup camp and still stand and easily move around. The fire pit was worth it on a cold night as it easily kept us cozy and warm all night. The community space is thoughtfully setup with many resources. The tuxedo cat (unsure their name but we called them “Noodle”) joined us at the community space, then followed us back to the tipi. We were happy to have their companionship, but heads up in case that’s not your preference because it did sneak its way through the main zipper of the tent. 10/10 would recommend.

About
Surrounding a 3,000-acre canyon reservoir in the arid high desert of Central Oregon, Prineville Reservoir State Park offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating, and other water sports, with multiple boat ramps and moorages for visitor use. Although the water is the main draw, the park also attracts those who prefer to keep dry, with a couple of moderate hiking trails and chances to spot birds and other wildlife, particularly once you get away from the popular day-use area. The International Dark Sky Park’s stargazing alone makes it worth staying the night at Prineville Campground, home to tent sites and full-hookup sites, plus a handful of log cabins.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Reservations for the main campground open six months in advance, at 6am each day on the Oregon State Parks online system.
- If you're unable to get a spot at the main campground, head to Jasper Point for its first-come, first-served campsites.
- Quite a few primitive, drive-in, and boat-in campsites can be found along the reservoir. Check directly with park rangers for availability.
- Other people’s cancellations can work in your favor. Check in with the park directly to see if any last-minute spots have opened up (openings under a day away are not bookable online).
When to go
Prineville Reservoir State Park is open year-round, but it’s at its most popular in the hot summer months. Due to its dark sky status, the park is particularly popular during the annual Perseid meteor shower in mid-August. If you want to beat the crowds and still take advantage of warm days, consider visiting in late spring or early autumn, when school is in session. While Oregon tends to be rainy this time of year, Prineville’s location east of the Cascade Mountains keeps things dry.
Know before you go
- The high desert location means that while summer days can be quite hot, temperatures drop dramatically at night. Bring layers.
- The campground has two accessible campsites and two accessible log cabins.
- You can buy food and supplies in the nearby city of Prineville, about a 20-minute drive from the park.
