Nestled in the heart of the stunning Smith Rock area, our campground stands out as a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Established on March 3, 2000, we initially focused on serving the climbing community, but our offerings have significantly expanded over the years. Despite this growth, our unwavering commitment remains: to provide the best online resource for adventurers seeking hiking, mountain biking, trail running, slacklining, highlining, and horseback riding experiences. We are passionate about Smith Rock and never tire of witnessing the breathtaking sunrise illuminating Picnic Lunch Wall. Our executive team, who are not only dedicated to creating exceptional Smith Rock content but also to each other, believes this synergy enhances our mission. The roots of our journey trace back to March 1983 when our founder purchased property across from Smith Rock State Park, laying the groundwork for what would become a thriving hub for outdoor activities. In 1992, he transitioned from guiding to video production, founding Extreme Video Productions in 1988 while still owning the Smith Rock Climbing School. His work during this time included producing the iconic "Video Climbing Guides - Smith Rock" and the "Vertical News" series, which gained popularity in 1989-1990.
