This Hipcamp was perfect for us! It was private, peaceful, and had plenty of mowed grass where our golden retriever could safely explore and roll around off leash.
Our gracious host, Matt, met us at the end of the driveway and personally escorted us to our campsite, where we easily set up two tents on level, grassy ground. He was friendly, welcoming, and very responsive to our questions about the area. Matt truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay.
The campsite included Wi-Fi, a clean porta-potty, potable water, an electrical outlet, a picnic table, and an additional table—both with attached umbrellas. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities and would definitely stay here again if we're in the Bend area.
Nice shady afternoon spot in plotted 5 acre home site neighborhood. Nice location for easy bike rides to downtown or nearby shopping or State park. Well maintained grassy parking for whatever camping style you have: motorhome of large or small size or tent camping. Cold water sink and power outlet next to gas BBQ grill that makes kitchen tasks easier. Picnic table and smaller 4 chair dining table within steps of camp site, both with shade!
Matt took great care of us at Rancho Mateo. He have us the white glove treatment guiding is to the lovely and secluded camp spot.
What a nice place to stay in the Bend Oregon area!

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Rancho Mateo. Matt was very friendly and inviting. This site was private, quiet, beautiful, and uniquely located near the neighbor's farm animals grazing and lazily sleeping in separated pens beyond the boundary fence. This single site was on a clean level grassy field along one side of his property. The animals next door were all quiet and did not wake us up early. Also, the animal farm didn't even smell. The site was clean with water, internet, clean porta-potty, and electricity. Night was peaceful with a far off sound of a train passing in the distance. It was really special among our camping experiences.

Rancho Mateo is very clean and set up really well with water, a grill and 2 seating options that ate both somewhat covered to offer shade and most importantly clean porta potty. Even though you are in a rural neighborhood the spot is private and easy to get our van in and out. We were in Bend for 2 days and we only had about a 15 min drive to get into town. Definitely recommend and Matt, the host was very nice. He met us upon arrival and then he gave us our privacy.
I loved camping on Matt’s land! Me and a couple of my friends recently stayed, we are in our late teens early twenties, and we were all girls, it is in an incredibly safe neighborhood (for those who are worried about safety) and Matt and the neighbors are super friendly. There are adorable farm animals next door to the campsite. I would definitely recommend staying at Matt’s. If I am ever back in Oregon I will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp. Matt was incredibly accommodating and gracious, and it’s clear he's put a lot of thought into making the space comfortable and enjoyable for guests. One of our favorite touches was returning on a hot afternoon to find the entire camp shaded—it made such a difference and showed real attention to detail. Highly recommend!
My husband, our dog and I really enjoyed the stay. Matt was very kind and helpful. He really made you feel welcome. The set up had everything we needed and more with an outhouse, propane grill, hose access for water, WiFi, and an electric outlet. There were a few tables and several chairs provided. The neighbors had farm animals that you could watch and hear in the early mornings. The location was great for getting to all the hiking and activities we wanted to do. We will definitely be back !
Matt’s place was a sweet spot to land. It’s in a nice rural neighborhood, everything was super tidy, and Matt was warm and inviting. There are farm animals around the site which adds to the charm!
What a great spot in Bend! Matt, the host, was great. He's there to make your camping expereince even better! I hate to say this.... because it'll limit my availability.... but by all means you need to stay here if you want to hang out in Bend!
Matt was super friendly, helpful and has a great setup for parking our camper van! We loved staying there! Matt had awesome communication in the days leading up to our stay. I highly recommend this hipcamp!!

Matt's place was very nice. It has water and even power. Which is nice when tent camping. The area is really nicely laid out. Between the trees and picnic table with an umbrella there is plenty of shade on a hot Bend day.

Great spot not too far away from bend, perfect views just peaceful farm vibes.
Way more private than campgrounds or RV parks. Clean private portable potty. Shade trees. Large open space. No road noise. Picnic table with umbrella! Matt is super chill and helpful. Short drive to downtown.

What a great site! Very quiet and private. When we arrived, Mateo showed me where to go and was very helpful. There are a mix of farm animals on the other side of the fence. They are friendly and cute. They do wake up early so if you sleep in, you may get waken up. Overall, it is very quiet and romantic spot. I'll definitely book again when we travel back to Bend.
Matt was easy to communicate with; the spot was gorgeous ranch grass land with animals on another side of the fence; and the tent site was perfectly flat and comfortable.

Very nice, quiet spot. Conveniently located just out of town, minutes from restaurants and groceries. Was able to park my Sprinter for the night with access to water, power, a grill, and a clean porta-potty. I pulled in kinda late and Matt came out to greet me. Wonderful host! Definitely keeping this spot in mind for the future!
Matt was an awesome host. The property is an incredible alternate to Tumalo State Park if you’re anything like me and don’t make reservations well ahead of time. The hobby farm next door has ducks, chickens, pigs and more and the view of the mountains is incredible. Super close to town as well, couldn’t be more convenient! Matt also allows your dog to be off leash and roam the property which is much better for everyone involved compared to leashing at state parks.
Was able to grab a last minute booking for a quick overnight trip to Bend. Very clean area with nice grass and private port-o-potty. Plenty of room and felt very private. Was able to push in all but one tent stake by hand for popup tent even though they weren't super necessary. Matt was great to communicate with and help us with a late evening arrival with no issues.
There is a small farm next door and throughout the night there are pockets of animal noises (geese, chickens, pigs, dogs, sheep, etc) and there were large sprinklers going until around midnight as well which added to the noise. If you're a light sleeper in a tent, it could be a problem. I am a light sleeper and had a restless night (not completely related to noise) so I went to the SUV to sleep and couldn't hear anything from inside of the vehicle. My teen daughter that is also a restless sleeper didn't seem to have any problems and was able to sleep well. So could have just been me. During the day, they provided some fun moments watching them move around one they were let out of their enclosure for the day. Overall, would still recommend.

Our stay at Matt’s hipcamp was great! Calm and quiet property with a very nice farm feel but still very close to town. Plenty of table room and chairs with electric hookup and a dedicated area to pitch tents and a very clean porta potty! Matt was very friendly and helpful and provided us with everything we needed! Hope to be back!

Super location - close enough to be convenient, far enough to enjoy the night sky and quiet. Matt was super friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. And the nearby goats and ducks were adorable as a well!
I'll definitely be back.
What a great place to stay! Matt has a picnic table, barbecue and fresh water in a very secluded spot. I felt safe.

Matt was super friendly and helpful! This would be an excellent site for anyone with a small trailer who isn't bothered by early farm noises.
We have a pop-up tent trailer, and the site isn't ideal for that type of vehicle. We had a hard time positioning the trailer on the grass and then getting it level. We also had to pack out our gray water, which was unexpected but easily solved with some empty gallon jugs.
I have to say - having a port-a-potty all to ourselves was amazing!

Great private campsite with only farm animals for neighbours. Matt has provided us with all the amenities that we could have expected from a big RV resort. Water, power, bathroom, Wi Fi are all great. Highly recommend this campsite if we ever leave.
