Enjoy a quarter mile of Kilchis River access in the Tillamook Forest! If you prefer a more private setting you can put up a tent or bring a small RV on the riverside site on the far west end of the property, or choose the comfort of staying in our rustic cabin. Book both sites for extra large groups or if you need more space/privacy. There is no electricity or running water in the cabin, however a generator can be rented if it is desired. Potable water is also available if you bring a jug to fill. A portable toilet is available on-site. Take advantage of the opportunity to go fishing, swimming, or launch your boat/kayak/tube. Alternatively, simply relax and enjoy the picturesque views of the river and the wildlife in the coastal rainforest. Watch the salmon jump during spawning season in November, or cast a rod from our private fishing spot. We are also a birdwatcher's and rockhounding paradise! Just a few minutes away from town amenities, this location allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forested river canyon, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are family and fur baby friendly! If you are an animal lover, take the time to enjoy a visit with our cats and chickens too.
*Please note, while we have no direct neighbors, we are in a narrow river canyon. There is an active farm and wedding venue across the river. You may hear distant noise of their operations or events, depending on the season. There is also a quarry across the road that operates M-F, from 8a-3p that sometimes can be heard sporadically throughout the day.

Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left. Also a heads up lately I've had a few people that are having a hard time booking and I learned from another camper if you're staying one night you actually have to select two days it includes the day you check out I just experienced that with another camper so just a bit information I don't know if hip camp changed something or what, but if you're staying one night select two days and it'll work.

This spot was perfect. Very quiet and serene. Mark was so personable and I had a great time chatting with him (and his pup) upon arrival. He rode out to my spot to make sure it would work for my car and gave me helpful advice for my trip. Definitely take him up on his recommendation for Werner Beef and Brew! Hope to make it back here soon!

This is my most favorite Hipcamp, the setting was like a state park, the host was very welcoming.
Sites vary between Forest camping and Orchard camping, I was in a big van so I took the Orchard. Incredible views and enjoyed walking around the land. Definitely will stay again when I’m in the area. Don’t be put off by the steep driveway, a UPS truck makes it up and down!

Great, private one night stay. Host Mark was super friendly. We really enjoyed talking to him. We walked the trails around our site with our dogs and hiss dog, Augie. Augie is also very friendly. Mark left us fire wood and offered us water in our tank which was so thoughtful. Would definitely stay again.

Brad’s hip camp is absolutely stunning! I had such a peaceful night solo camping and I highly recommend this place. I would definitely come back for sure. Also, this is a GREAT place for birding! I saw a hermit thrush (new lifer) among many others.

Mark came over on the first night to chat and give us firewood and local recommendations like a byway close by that we checked out the next day. We were the only ones there on a rainy October weekend but the super friendly dog kept us company and chased away coyotes at night. The grounds are great, lots of great viewpoints, very conveniently located, clean toilets… the kids asked when we could come back!

It was absolutely beautiful...an oasis of forest among the surrounding farmlands. We enjoyed to site, it was near the pond. sauna and outhouse, so everything was nearby. Nobody was at site 3, (which is pretty close by) so we had total privacy. We had a lovely time and would go there again!

We had a great time camping here! The location is perfect; close to tillamook and close to the beaches. The sites were clean and spaced out so you don’t notice the other campers. Augie the black lab and Jinx the Cat were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back.

We had a lovely 2 nights here. It is quiet and felt like we were way out in the Forest. Mark’s place is well thought out with nicely spaced sites. It’s all uphill from the road and each site seems well positioned to minimize seeing neighbors. We stayed in site #1, looking onto the orchard (tasty apples and Asian pears!). Deer frequent this area for the apples.
The sites have a level spot for tent and/or sleeping vehicles. (I wouldn’t want to get up that hill with a long RV or trailer, though.) There are picnic tables, a fire ring supplied with firewood, as well as a fire shovel and bucket for water. There are clean porta pots here and there as well as potable water.
Auggie, the friendly black lab, comes to visit everyone, I think, and spent a good amount of time lounging around and wrestling with our pup, which was fun.
