What a lovely, comfortable spot! There’s a pond on the property, replete with cattails, grebes and ducks.
But the jewel in the crown is the exceptional hosts! When the night temperatures dropped to 46F, my host loaned me a wonderful quilt. When I was too lazy to cook breakfast, my hostess made me a delicious meatless sandwich.
I have had a great time and plan to stop again on my way back from seeing the Redwoods and Sequoias. I highly recommend this place and the super hosts (Outstanding sandwich, Sandy!).

I have been comming to this camp ground for over a decade its been with my family since it was founded but its a great place in early fall the dear can sometimes walk into camp early in the morning there is tables and fire pits in the main camp the water for the camp is a natural spring smells of wild mint i could go on for hours i love the spot its about a hours drive from riley but still worth it in every aspect

The camp host for the past several years has been extremely rude. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly and last year were locked sometimes. I have been camping at Yellow Jacket lake for almost 20 yrs, at least 2 weeks every summer. Since this camp host I only stay for a week and go elsewhere. Last year she would drive out of campground and harass the campers(myself and family included) that were not camping in the campground. Not sure what the problem ever is with her but our family reunions may go somewhere else.

We camped in 80's before having to pay. Hubs was a hunter. I was alone all day. Outhouse was clean and 1 faucet of potable water. I would not recommend a woman being alone, as I was, since hubs was out during archery season. 2 men came thru slowly while I was outside. I was being checked out and I had a gun covered on the table. I was scared. I could scream out there and no one would hear a thing. Camp with friends please. I knew I was being checked out they were obvious. I never went again. Hubs went to Snow Mt after that, that was his favorite place anyway. It was nice and quiet other than that. Don't leave women alone out there. That was my experience. Sincerely, Pati Hall Portland Oregon.

Primitive USFS campground. Bring drinking water and firewood. Well water is available for dishes, etc. Pack out your trash.

Very peaceful. If you go in early May there's tons of Monarch butterflies! Just follow the manzanita bushes and you'll find them :)

Intimate, incredible campground right next to the creek. You can literally throw a stone to the trailhead that leads absolutely amazing hikes and runs. We did a great run up to Strawberry mountain on our first day and then ran a 20 mile loop around the mountains the next day. I'll head up to the Strawberry Mtns every summer from now on. You feel like you are a world away from Bend, Oregon.
