The Idaho Pioneer Farm
4 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Nampa, IDI was raised outside of city limits in Nampa, Idaho, and I wanted to raise my kids in the same "country environment." I was blessed to buy my 10-acre farm in early 2013, and my three kids and I are slowly transforming it into a small, sustainable farm with chickens and veggies at the moment. That takes up a relatively small footprint, and the rest of my land is native sagebrush and grassland. It's so beautiful and peaceful, and I hope you enjoy it and the incredible views of the valley!

Laughing Horse Ranch - NO TENTS
6 sites · Lodging, RVs10 acres · Meridian, IDLaughing Horse has provided accommodations for travelers with horses for years now! We recently decided to open our small ranch to campers without horses so you too can enjoy the beautiful setting and wake up in the morning surrounded by these amazing creatures! We have level RV pads and a private hideaway apartment for rent on site. We offer water and electricity hook ups for the RV's. The apartment has 2 queen beds, private entry and bathroom and kitchenette. The cost is $120 per night. *** We DO NOT ACCEPT TENT CAMPING*** There are many reasons why not, but all I can say is if you show up with a tent, I will ask you to leave! I seem to have a hard time making the tenters happy with our accommodations! We offer more formal horse interaction with advance notice. If you are interested in a riding lesson or other horse activities, just message us before your visit for price and availability. Our farm has many uses. We board horses for individuals offering pasture turn out and stalls with covers. Our team is busy keeping the horses happy cleaning stalls, feeding, cleaning water troughs and cleaning the grounds of loose hay. We are busy all day and you will see a real horse farm doing what we do everyday! We share the property with my husband's painting company so you may see some normal paint company activities and some painting vans and equipment in the working yard. We also have a couple of trainers on site and they are happy to arrange a lesson or supervised activity for you to interact safely with the horses. Just let us know in advance what you might like to do. Based on availability and weather, we may be able to arrange quite a bit of horse time for you! If you have a way to get around, there some great attractions nearby including a 4 season adventure mountain - Bogus Basin, rivers, desert or mountain hiking, mountain biking in the foothills, birds of prey nature center, water parks featuring river surfing, world class fishing and white water rafting. If you are looking for a day trip, Idaho City has hot springs and some fun history museums. Our little farm has a walking trail nearby and some beautiful sunsets and sunrises. We have a designated area for campfires to complete the camping experience. Feel free to message me if you have any questions! Thanks and Happy Trails! Risa

SawtoothMonkey
2 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Lowman, IDThe Sawtooth Monkey is a fictional character who lives in the Sawtooth mountains in Idaho, this creature is a crossbreed of a salmon and baby Bigfoot. Breeding and divine intervention took place circa 1989 when the 1989 fire hit the SF region of the Payette river. Baby Bigfoot had no where to go but the river, he was saved by a school of salmon who by Deus ex machina and the Idaho river God, Beeraspirits transformed Bigfoot and the Alpha 15 pound papa salmon into the Sawtooth Monkey. When SM hit puberty he developed a skin condition and an appetite for coconuts. He is currently friendly but a nuisance, because of his skin problems he is known for stealing ointment, lotions and sunscreen. Also, because of his love for coconuts, he is known for steal those too. Should you confront or come in contact with this elusive creature, please don't feed him anything but coconuts.

Tamarack Falls Campground
3 sites · RVs1 acre · Donnelly, IDRight by the shores of Cascade Lake.  Just down the road from Tamarack Resort.  Walking distance to the Fishing Bridge and Mountain Meadows Adventure Rentals. You can fish from the bridge, rent a jet-ski and go on the lake, or take an off-road vehicle and ride in the mountains - right from your campsite.  There is even a small pond on the property. Some history and geography: Where are the Falls? I wondered that myself when first bought the property.  I have asked around and done some research - and come up with two answers, both somewhat apocryphal I'm afraid.  First Answer: The old Tamarack Falls have been covered up by the reservoir. That is, there used to be a waterfall in this vicinity, but now it is covered up by Lake Cascade.  Maybe, but I can't find any old photographs showing that, and since the property lies on the upper reaches of the reservoir, the water level gets pretty low late in the year. This allows you to see the old channel of the Payette River pretty well and it looks like it just meanders through an old meadow. The channel does narrow at the Fishing Bridge, and it could be that there is a submerged waterfall there, but if so, it would be rather smallish - more like rapids than a classic water fall.  Second Answer: The Falls are still there, but they also are not the classic water fall of picturesque imagination.  Instead they are the numerous streams that gush down West Mountain every spring and really never completely stop flowing except in really dry autumns.  These streams can be seen everywhere, especially in the spring, and they to tumble down a steep slope.  They come right out of the rocky faces of the tamarack forest, so it makes sense to call them Tamarack Falls.  They are all over the place. At least two of these streams (more in the spring) feed the pond on this property. Hence Tamarack Falls Pond. The pond is "artificial" in the sense that it was created when fill dirt used to build West Mountain Road blocked the stream and created a small pond.  The pond stays at a constant level because its outflow is a culvert that runs under West Mountain Road and from there into Lake Cascade.  Two main streams feed the pond - one on the northside and one on the southside.  The shape of the two little submerged valleys give the pond a lopsided crescent shape with a small peninsula curving out into the middle of the pond's west side.

We did convert a few acres into a Market Garden a few years ago and started Kraay's Market Garden, you can find us online. Northern Star Pallette Ranch
8 sites · RVs, TentsWallowa Lake, ORBuilt in the 1940's by the late actor Eugene Pallette as a hideaway from Hollywood and a Refuge from looming world disaster after World War 2. There once was a cannery, a power plant a sawmill and a 5,000 sq' concrete warehouse built to withstand anything and house years of provisions. Many buildings are still standing and utilized.  The past guest list included Cark Gable (Gone with The Wind) Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan and Errol Flynn and many more. Located on the shores of the Imnaha river we have 2 miles of accessible, private spots. There is a lot of wildlife here and there is no better place to "unwind" and regroup. Pitch your tent in total privacy along the shores of the River and then kick back and take in all the sights and sounds of Nature. Surrounded by canyons on all sides tucked away in a private Valley is 300+ acres of room to roam along the river.   We have firewood and frozen bottles of water for coolers available for an extra charge And have added 3 outhouses. Potable water, picnic tables, and outhouses on site. Pets are welcome. Camp fires are permitted outside of a fire ban. Our guests love staying here: "Camping at the ranch was pure enjoyment. We did not see or hear anything but the rushing river and the surrounding woods. The stars at night we’re amazing and there was plenty to explore on the property and nearby."
