Located in the Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork River, this is a premier location for the whitewater enthusiast. Take advantage of the class II, III rapids in your kayak or raft, or even surf. Alternatively, enjoy the relaxing Sandy Beach just a few minutes walk from the campground to swim and gaze at the beautiful argilite cliffs. The campground is near both the Interstate and a railroad so there is some ambient noise.
Note: we have cameras on the surf shack (container) that can see the entrance and the portable toilet area. We're happy to share the images with anyone concerned.

This RV pad, located 1.5 miles from Exit 77 on I-90, has breathtaking views the Clark Fork valley and is located near whitewater rafting, fishing, hunting and hiking amenities. Located at functioning food and flower farm (Crescent Ridge Farm), the RV pad is located 400 feet from the farm house and a few hundred feet from the large flower garden.
This stay offers a farm experience so you may see farming in action. We welcome you to self tour our food and flower garden, watch the free-range chickens and simply enjoy the view on the outdoor patio.
The gravel RV pad is 28 feet in length (plus additional grass area) and includes a potable water and sewer hookups along with electricity. Fires are allowed (pending no restrictions) in the fire pit. A concrete pad with table and chairs offers outdoor amenities.
The site is located 30 mins from Missoula and 5 mins from Alberton. There are three food options in Alberton including River's Edge, Trax Bar (pizza), and Sporty's Bar (burgers). A fishing access is available at Petty Creek (1.5 miles).

Excellent spot. Nice amenities (table/chairs, grill, fire pit/wood, croquet, trees for shade) and a sweet view of the valley. Quiet road to walk on and stretch your legs and walk the dog. Great communication from the hosts, who made sure everything was good for our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Sunset Ridge is nestled in a rustic residential community under the pine trees. The Parking Spot was level. Well water, electrical hookup and a septic dump were on site. Kelly kept in touch with us as we made our way to their location. Mike and Buddy greeted us when we arrived and helped us hook up and answered questions about a place to take a walk. There were trains that went by throughout the evening until about 9:00 and then there were fewer. Overall we weren't bothered by them. Our experience was good.

We were delighted to be Kelly and Mike’s first Hipcampers!
The site itself is laid-back and easy to access; the property is less than 10 minutes off the highway, and Kelly’s directions were easy to follow. The FHU is a little spread out in a straight line (sewer’s in the middle), but if you have at least 15-20 feet of power cord and water hose you’ll be just fine.
Our hosts were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Kelly and Mike were at the site when we arrived to make sure we got in and hooked up without issue. They also gave us some recommendations of things to see and do during our visit. (Ask Mike about the lookout point; it’s gorgeous!!). When their son Max (a mechanic) found out we were having an issue with our travel trailer, he offered to take a look at it and gave us some excellent advice. Their dog Buddy is a sweetheart who LOVES people and was friendly and patient with our three dogs.
FYI - If you’re looking for a super private, ultra quiet, we-are-the-only-people-on-the-planet kind of Hipcamp, this is not your spot. It was plenty peaceful, but not particularly secluded. You can also hear the train when it goes by a few times per day/night. We could hear it from our camper when we were awake, but it wasn’t loud enough to wake us up.
If we ever find ourselves back in the area, we would be happy to stay here again. ☺️

This is a great spot. Only problem this is 4 hours north of Boise about an hour east of lowman 2hours west of Montana on us 12. In the mountains you know not In the high dessert of south idaho. But close to here is duck valley which is an Indian reservation. And Mountain View camp site is. Good spot on a lake. Check it out.

The hikes are great but long. You can take a shortcut which is awesome and fast but super steep and more advanced hiking!

A rather unique USFS campground, and not just because some (not all) sites have electricity. Many are HUGE. Some have as many as three tables, and even benches around a quite large firepit. Thus it's popular for family events and such.
Additionally, the sites are very private. Although within earshot of the highway, traffic is almost non existent after dark. Tons of historical trails and dirt roads nearby, and the Lochsa River and Lodge within a short walk.

A great campground, well maintained and very accessible. The best thing about Giant White Pine (in my opinion) is access to a network of well-built and maintained mountain bike trails that start at the campground. You could easily spend a weekend here riding trails during the day, and camping at night.
While trees screen the view of the nearby highway 6 visually, some sites are only about 20' from the highway, and even those furthest away are probably less than 200'. It's a beautiful area, but not as remote as many other sites in the panhandle.
