**WE ARE CLOSED FOR THE 2026 CAMPING SEASON- Our home and property sustained extensive wind related tree damage this winter, and we are still cleaning up, removing hazard trees, and rebuilding. We hope to be hosting campers again starting Memorial Day weekend 2027. **
We have a private, single site located on the banks of the McKenzie River in Rainbow, Oregon. The campsite is near our home, but feels private. The access driveway and site size make it best for camper vans and smaller RV’s. Long trailers, large RV’s and tent camping are not permitted at this time. The site has 50/30 amp and 120 volt outlets, as well as water and Wi-Fi. We have a porta-potty on site Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The property has many areas to set your camp chair or hang your hammock, and lots of short paths to explore. Recreation opportunities abound around here: hiking, biking, fishing, hot springs, cold springs, waterfalls, lava beds, whitewater boating on the river, and flat water paddling on the reservoirs. There are also four restaurants, a food cart, golf course and a general store nearby.

Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a leash or confined in a pen. The neighbors at the adjacent fenced property to the east have a couple of very friendly but curious dogs that like to be introduced to any newly arriving animals!
When you request a booking, please tell me what kind of RV you'll be bringing, and confirm whether it is fully self-contained (with toilet and holding tanks). Also, you must park your RV and any other vehicles on the graveled surface to prevent damage to the underlying water system. Quiet generators may be used between 8am-8pm.
Summers & holiday weekends require a 4-night minimum stay. All other times require a 3-night minimum.
PLEASE NOTE: Use the property's elevated deck (maximum weight capacity: 350 lbs.) and gravel path to the river's edge at your own risk and with the utmost caution! Owner accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained on the property.
Area attractions include the Deschutes River, Mt. Bachelor, Paulina Plunge, Benham Falls, Fall River Trail, Lava Butte, Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory, Spring River, Sparks Lake, Elk Lake, Smith Rock, and the Sisters Rodeo, to name a few. There is a boat launch about 1/4 mile away on Snow Goose Drive, and scenic bike trails in Caldera Springs (about 3.5 miles away), as well as in Sunriver (about 5 miles away).
Local restaurants include Village Bar and Grill, Josie K's Deli and Kitchen, Marcello's, Cafe Sintra, and Blondie's Pizza. There is a small general store (open during the summer) at the Thousand Trails campground on Century Drive, just a short drive away.

2026-04-12 The frogs will keep you up at night, they can be noisy, like the birds in one tree or another. Water is on and so are the big guns. Come see some animals and greenery in the high desert.
A peaceful retreat on the ranch, lots of open pasture and wildlife. Multiple RV spaces with electrical and well water, and a few tent sites. Lots of open space and sunshine for walks, clear sky’s for starry nights, a frog pond, larger pond with mature aspen grove and bench. birds, deer passing through. Resident cats, Ike, Rose and Haze can be seen out hunting. Streams and ponds June-Sept*. Cameras onsite, but campsites are not covered. Kid friendly with some playground equipment.
Very private, lots of spaces to choose from. Kid friendly, including a climbing dome and a trampoline, and some other obstacle course items. Cows, goats, and sheep to follow around. Afternoon shade on the bench by the main pond next to the aspen grove and a bit of a trickling creek when the pond is full.
10 minutes from downtown Bend and all it has to offer. 5 mins north on Brookswood to the Old Mill District, and the Deschutes river (and trail).

Campsite is on a second driveway to the front of the house on a wooded, half-acre lot in a quiet neighborhood in Southwest Bend. House lots are big and the area provides nice cool morning walks. There is a curb at the start of the driveway but aids will be provided if necessary.
Electrical (110x2; 50A with converter to 30A), water, and sewer hookups are available! The sewer hookup may not work if your drain is underneath your vehicle and low to the ground.
There is a fenced in yard that may be used if your dog(s) get along with mine and you help with poop patrol. You will need to check the fence line to confirm that your dogs cannot get out, as I am not responsible if they escape. A large part of my yard is rewilding, so you will see tall grasses and increasing varieties of flowers over the years.
A hot tub may be available by appointment. House is enhanced by the use of focused life force energy (FLFE.net), so enjoy relaxing in the higher vibes. There is one cat to rule us all and she may grace you with her presence if you welcome her. And a border collie to guard anyone she deems as part of her "flock."
Site is located an easily walkable ½ mile from a shopping center with grocery (just closed but hoping for another to take its place), vet, Mexican and Asian-fusion restaurants, and a wine bar with occasional entertainment. Beyond that, is a park with a climb to a tall hill with a lovely 360 overlook view of the surrounding mountains.
There is access to the river and river trail about ¾ mile walk away - this trail can take you all the way to Farewell Park and the Old Mill shopping area. And a bus stop is around the corner, just about a house length away.
This is a great base location for all your adventures in Bend and surrounding areas, and a quiet place in which to relax afterwards.

Our house is located in Wood River Village. It is the beginning of where the Deschutes River bends as it comes into the town of Bend. One can quickly and easily walk to the river trail from our house. By going up river, one gets the sense of being remote and in the forest along a well maintained trail that makes a 3 miles loop with many rapids visible from the trail. By walking down river, one can quickly access Hayden Homes Amphitheater, Old Mill shopping and Downtown on a paved walking path. Campers will be camping in our backyard, surrounded by old growth Ponderosa pines. We are a 5 minute walk to the Deschutes River and a 15 minute walk to the Old Mill and Hayden Homes Amphitheater. We love it here. You will, too.

CLOSEST CAMP TO WILDWOOD FALLS!!!
Cooer weather is here with some lovely fall days coming up. We still have all of September!!!! Commonly is clear an sunny st this higher elevation when it's cloudy in the valley. Lower numbers of guests to allow for more privacy.
Large undeveloped forested property. as you enter the park, the grass covered roads wind thru the 3 acres of Forest and Blackberry hedges. Lots of wildflowers, and wildlife. It's open camping so , choose the site that speaks to you.
closest camp to Wildwood falls! Area features include Covered Bridges, mining, Row River Trail bike path. Film locations for Buster Keaton the general, Stand By Me, and Animal House.

Cheryl’s property is great! A quiet, gorgeous spot to camp away from crowds. We loved sitting out having coffee in the mornings or drinks at night and just looking out at the mountains and/or the stars. Highly recommend!

Joel was an incredible host. Very friendly and helpful, giving great tips and letting us join him for 4th of July fireworks!
The space was perfect for our rooftop tent, trailer, and second car tent. Such a premium location with river access and short bike rides to all the great spots in bend.
We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful spot in the pines within ten minutes of Sisters and near many other hiking areas. Mike gave clear, detailed instructions that made it very easy to find the site. The area was clean and well maintained. We would gladly stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at James’s place. The property is incredibly private and secluded, offering peaceful surroundings and beautiful star-filled skies at night. James provided plenty of firewood, which made the evenings even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of our stay was getting to know James. He was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. He took the time to explain everything in detail, including local attractions, nearby places to visit, and the hiking trails on the property. His knowledge of the area and hospitality made our experience even better.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, this is a fantastic place to stay.

Lovely refuge out in the rural, country landscape. Really prompt replies/communication from host. Honored to have the privilege to be able to park safely on the home owner’s property. I don’t need the water & electricity connections (van camping). Those of us who are equipped to roam, are graced by stewards/owners of land who are willing to share so that when we wander, we aren’t always at the mercy of busy campgrounds, right next to others’ rigs/sounds/activities. I hope that guests continue to respect such opportunities ~

This spot was perfect for what I was looking for…a place close to the Deschutes River so I could do some paddle boarding, 10 minute walk to the Old Mill District for food, etc and walkable to the Hayden Homes Ampitheater for an evening concert. This is not a place that you are going to pull out chairs and hang out for the evening. But it is really tough to beat the location for proximity to activities.
Joel is a nice guy and accommodating. You will need your own toilet setup, but he does have access to a hose and 110 power cord.
I will be. Coming back when I have activities in the area.

This spot was great, especially considering that we went on the "severe heat warning" weekend. The shade from the trees kept the site at a nice mid 80s, and it got cool at night down into the 60s. Only downside was the website and Google made it seem like the reservoir would be full of water and RIGHT THERE for us to get into... the reservoir was reallllllly dried up and we had to drive to get anywhere close to a swimmable spot.
Besides that: clean campground, plenty of space, great fire pit with built-in cooking spot, quiet and peaceful, bathrooms clean - would come back and stay here again for sure!

Loud families in Broken Bowl (single mom riding a scooter with 5 teens blasting music into the night, and then those teens running through all the campsites)
Squatters in the reservation only site (Puma). Could be July 4th weekend. Campsite manager said the locals hate the rule changes and will stand their ground and refuse to follow the rules. Family (older male, playing dumb female, 2 teenage sons, one was aggressive). 3 cars parked on the site. Unsure if they carried weapons. Be careful.

Decent campground, but pretty close to the highway and the road noise is pretty intense, especially the big trucks going by. Very small Hackleman creek nearby. OK campground if you need a place to stop, but wouldn't recommend making a a special trip.

One of four clearest lakes in the world! This bright blue alpine lake is so crystal clear you can see to the bottom even in the deepest parts. Lack of vegetation means no fish or murky bottoms. Just perfect swimming and kayaking conditions. Lots of butterflies and blue dragonflies and hardly anyone on the lake. If you can, paddle across the lake to camp.

Make sure to visit the hot springs at the resort as they are AMAING! The community there is quite homey and inviting. I will make it a yearly visit now as it was indeed needed to refresh, relax, and renew my spirit.

This is my favorite campsite in all of Oregon. I've visited North Waldo Lake nearly every summer since I was born. It's great for hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, stargazing, and just reading and napping on the beach. Trails are beautiful and the water is so clear you can see the bottom from the middle of the lake. It can be cold at night and there are mosquitos usually until late July, but other than that it is flawless. It's Oregon's best kept secret:)

We visited on a Monday night in early April which turned out to be the right recipe for a deserted campground. Not only was it free but it was just us and a few day-time fishermen.
Our campsite came equipped with a peninsula that extended out into the lake and was perfect for both kids and fishermen. The campsite itself is located back in the trees on an old concrete pad. It's also a great spot for large gatherings (spots for 5+ rvs) but would make for open and exposed quarters with strangers if the campsite is full.
Expect moderate noise from traffic on the nearby highway, especially for the sites on the east side of the campground. The tent-only walk-in sites also looked nice.

Right down the road is Smith Reservoir, if your into fishing at all then stop by this place and throw the pole in!
