This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. NO TENTS, please. Also we have NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes.
There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm.
Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 12 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm.
The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail.
There is an ART GALLERY where you can see the host's artwork and purchase a piece if you wish. Originals and prints are both available. This is upstairs through the check-in entry area lobby. Tilton River Studio Gallery.
Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site (dumpster) available Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Motorized off-road vehicles are allowed ONLY for transport of gear to/from the river or for those with mobile disabilities. We ask that you are respectful of the trails and drive slowly.

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away.
The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to.
There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property.
We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there.
If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer.
Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out!
We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later.

Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
The B side is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. This site is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit but you may need to back in.
The B side is backed by our private, small shop. It is adjacent to our tiny house, with a privacy fence separating the two areas. The site has water, power and septic hook ups. There is also WiFi, although it can be spotty inside your trailer.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.

There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate.
The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable.
A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Note: railing is fragile and drop potentially fatal, so no leaning on railing.
Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them.
The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash.
There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. Firestarter/kindling complimentary if minimally used. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a picnic table and chairs at the fire ring.
Trash cans are provided. Please remove your trash.
Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper, headlamp/flashlight, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel.
There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles (except when towing). When driving out, make sure gate is open before starting the climb out.. The driveway is steepest at the gate so please do not stop there as tire spinning will result.

A family favorite! This campsite is on the Coweeman River, 16 miles east of Interstate 5, on Rose Valley Rd, Kelso, WA. A pool deep/large enough for swimming makes it a wonderful summer retreat. Caution: wet rocks are as slick as ice!
There is only one site on this property so your party will have it to yourselves. A fire pit, with on site firewood available for purchase ($10/tub/30ish pieces), provides warmth after your dip in the cool water. Fire stater and kindling are complimentary if minimally used. A picnic table is under a newly constructed shelter.
The driveway terminates in a cul de sac; an area large enough for any vehicle to turn around. A small trailer (less than 20') is fine if you're talented getting it turned around or can unhitch and turned around by hand. Towing a trailer you'd need a 4 wheel drive to get it out of the steepish driveway. There is a large flat area for parking/tents plus a couple remote, dirt sites for tents.
There is no potable water onsite though the Coweeman River runs clear/clean and could be boiled/treated.
Non digging, well mannered dogs are allowed (2 maximum) provided their responsible owners clean up after them.
A new nifty outhouse has a great view! Only pee and poop go into the pit.
Rose Valley Road follows the Coweeman River, has little traffic, and may serve as a nice hike/bike up or down stream.

We only stayed one night at the Blue site at the Arboretum on our way back to Seattle from Mt St. Helens, and are already scheming a return visit. It really is a remarkable place… big campsites on a well manicured lawn tucked into the trees with openness but ample privacy. Just about perfect!

All of the sites have a ton of space, so there is ample privacy and quiet. Entire property is imaculately maintained, and the foliage and landscaping is amazing. "Arboretum" is an entirely accurate description!
Walks around the property were a great way to start each day, although we didnt get to the river this trip. We'll make a point of it next time.
Barb and Terry stopped by on our arrival to check in with the rules and to see if we needed anything, but were not obtrusive at all and both super friendly.
In all, it was a relaxing, peaceful stay and we will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely stay at Williams Park! The host was incredibly welcoming, the campground was peaceful and well cared for, and the bathrooms were absolutely immaculate. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again!

Big open site and the walk to the river is short and the beach was fabulous. Hosts were welcoming and informative. Definitely will return. Thank you for sharing your property. What a great find.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The host was amazing—so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The property itself is beautiful, with plenty of walking trails to explore and incredible access to the river.
The amenities were an added bonus, especially having a kitchen and ice machine available for guests to use. Everything was thoughtfully provided and made our stay even more enjoyable.
We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend this Hipcamp!

We loved the level sites and full hook ups! There was a free laundry! Our host was friendly and accommodating! Our dog didn’t want to leave. She was allowed off leash with 40 acres for walking and a river for swimming.

We stayed here for several days as a family of 5 with kids 8 and under. It was such a great experience and I would definitely recommend staying here!
Many reviews that I saw mentioned that the campsites were super small which gave me pause before booking. I’m so glad we booked anyways because the campsite sizes were great! We have stayed at many other campsites that are much smaller and more difficult to park in, including places like Thousand Trails and KOA.
A couple things to note, there’s one washer and two dryers. We need occasionally had to wait for laundry but never for long. The laundry is coin operated only, so bring quarters. But great washer and dryer set up and only $3.50 total to wash and dry.
The showers were great but only one shower in each of the 2 bathrooms. So again, sometimes we had to wait for the shower. But never long!
None of these things would deter me from staying again.
My kids enjoyed the open areas of grass to play, the cornhole and rec room. Plus the access to the beach from the campsite.
Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Our stay at the Fisherman's Cove was good. Having the electric hookup was helpful for our PHEV and kept our fridge charged. The ground was leveled, the site was clean and quiet at night, nice laundry and a shower, and very close to the sights we came to see. Matt, the customer rep, was friendly and helpful.

Barb & Terry were such lovely hosts! Barb greeted us at check-in, and we got to see (and purchase!) her beautiful art. We also were able to purchase some of Terry’s honey. The property was perfect - so lush and so private. We walked to the swimming hole for a quick dip before settling into our nook. It was so quiet and peaceful. We are already excited to go back!

Everything was clean and beautiful and well maintained. The signage was great and easy to read and find your spot. Being surrounded by thousands of Christmas trees and summer is pretty cool. Hosts we're communicative and really nice.

Hosts were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Lovely camp, excellent river beach (if the river is low enough), lots of space between sites, port-o-potty for restroom but hosts cleaned it every day. Hook ups were in good shape. I even earned a gold star from our camp host ;-) We'll come again!!
