Overall a great experience. The site is small and near the road, but the road isn't busy at all and the view is fantastic. Great and responsive hosts.

We loved our stay here. The hosts were amazing available for anything. Let us know of things that we’re going on around the area so we could attend if we’d like to. They were willing to help us with anything that we needed although everything was so good. We really didn’t need anything. The view was amazing. We had a great time. I would 10 out of 10 recommend

Otter Ridge
Beautiful spot. I was able to watch a fiery sunset across the water while cooking dinner. Hosts were attentive and responsive.
For outdoorsy types like us, this is better than a four star hotel! We spent our time at this cliff-side campsite watching eagles and hawks soaring above, and pelicans and otters swimming in the river below. We days and evenings were quiet and we slept well without interruption. Hope helped us get her canoe down to the river just below the campsite and we were blown away by how much wildlife we saw on our 1.5 hour adventure in the Columbia: eagles, hawks, deer, pelicans, otters and even sturgeon leaping out of the water! The site was a wonderful jumping off point for adventure all around the region, including Longbeach, The Art Walk, Covered Bridge and of coarse Cathlemet.

Otter Ridge
The view was great and the road was quiet. I appreciated the amenities like a fire pit, chairs, and wood.
What a magical place.! On a cliff above the majestic Columbia River. Awesome romantic getaway. The location isn’t flat and I wouldn’t take a trailer any larger than our 21 FT Micro Minnie, but it was a lovely, peaceful spot. A bald eagle pair nearby, pelicans, deer and a curious harbor seal that followed as a we paddled around in the canoe that Hope and James let us use.
Hope and James couldn’t have been more helpful or more accommodating. Bringing us extra boards to help level the trailer out. We had to raise it about 4 inches on the one side for level. It took some work and patience but we got it level. They even let us use their driveway to get turned around when we left which was very helpful.
We used the location as a base to explore Astoria and The Long Beach Peninsula. It’s a little out of the way, but well worth the drive.
The location is clean, the views are beautiful, and the hosts are wonderful people. Thanks Hope and James!
The surroundings were gorgeous, the stargazing was incredible, and the site itself was spacious and somewhat private.
The location was decent enough, but the overall setup was just average(and the hose did not work even after multiple tries from the host), and unfortunately, our stay didn’t quite live up to expectations. It worked fine as a place to pitch a tent for a few nights. I would advise not bring your pets to this site.
That being said, Hope was a great host and did her best to meet the needs of her first hipcampers. I wish her well on getting more campers at her site!
