the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night. Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property. You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths. Guests interactions: You are on your own! A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. A car will make it down the dirt road and up the semi-steep drive way. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW to respect the road and preserve the undercarriage of your car. There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night. Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property. You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths. Guests interactions: You are on your own! Wouldn’t feel comfortable in windy weather just due to the shallow rooted trees- but it’s a beautiful spot! Reminded me of camping on the Olympic peninsula.

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

My husband and I were visiting Acadia and spent the night at the rabbit run spot. There was firewood and water set out for us and we were given clear instructions on how to get there. Best of all: a bathroom with a toilet and running water!! You’ll be greeted in the morning by chickens, ducks, and their dog Sadie if you’re lucky.
