Kilene was an awesome host. We booked in winter and she called us right away to make sure we could get to the site. She was out of town when we booked and even called a local to get a snow report for us before we drove up. The site itself is super private but not too far from town, and there's a nice fire pit we didn't get to use. I'd definitely recommend this place and we'll be staying again.

My husband and I were visiting Acadia and spent the night at the rabbit run spot. There was firewood and water set out for us and we were given clear instructions on how to get there. Best of all: a bathroom with a toilet and running water!! You’ll be greeted in the morning by chickens, ducks, and their dog Sadie if you’re lucky. By far, this was the most pleasant Hipcamp experience I’ve had. Every site at this homestead is nice, well-maintained and easily accessed. The host, Mike, was truly amazing as he went above and beyond to help us out! Upon our arrival, we realized we had some vehicle issues. Mike was more than willing to help accommodate us while we fixed the issue. What could have been a terrible situation was made better by the fact that we had stayed at this location. Great car camping site and awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, Shane made sure I had fire wood and recommended that I take a short walk down to the pond in the morning to catch the sunrise and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous! I was only there for one night for a quick solo camping trip to go visit the Dambo trolls in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens also highly recommended going there during your stay!

1 night at Camp Nepenthe

Great site for camping with our van! Area was clean, directions were clear, and the fire pit with wood was a nice extra touch. Not too far off the highway/away from town and in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with great water views. Will definitely return!
