A beautiful island campground thickly forested with spruce, fir, and birch, Four Acre Woods was created over 60 years ago on Sunshine Island, Maine. Under the name Sunshine Campground, it hosted people from all over the world and delivered the spirit and essence of this ancient, abundant land that so many ancestors had roamed and celebrated before. It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Eventually, the presence and opportunity of the campground caught their attention and after working out the technicalities, they worked together to bring this beautiful land and campground back to the people under its new life and name, Four Acre Woods. After opening on July 1st 2020, the land is finally back to sharing all of her beauty and spirit with the people. So, Welcome Home. Sincerely, - Four Acre Woods Caretakers

Low key peaceful.

Beautiful. Peaceful. Simple. Sites set up well for rain. No muddy mess! Low key campers. Tiki tot he’s at each site a great addition. Nice mix of tents platforms yurts stationary tents. WiFi at community cabin. We will be back.

Bear Cave (RV 30amp)

We had a great time at Four Acre Woods Campground! Would totally recommend other campers to stay there and I am sure we will be back again :) Even though it is a small campground, we all had plenty of space and as much privacy as possible. We met Caleb and he was very informative and just an overall great guy. Just so you know, we booked the Bear Cave site and would highly recommend it. A large space that easily fits a vehicle plus (2) four person tents or a trail along camper. Site had water and power outlet. 4.5 stars!!

Seal Cove (Geodome Rental)

This is an amazing campground! Caleb and all the people who work there make you feel very welcome! We stayed at site 1 Seal Cove. Our accommodations were comfortable and relaxing. The option to purchase firewood on site was a nice bonus. We took a guided kayaking tour with Caleb and learned a lot about the native wildlife surrounding us. We would definitely stay again!
