It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

The living space has a sofa and two chairs perfect to sit and read a book by the fire, play some games or settle down and watch a movie on the 43" smart Roku tv. The yurt is heated with a comfortbuilt pellet stove which is easy to use and can be left unattended for a day out to come back to a nice warm space. We also have a Mini split heat pump which is an additional heat source but also provides air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months. Outside space Enjoy the view while sitting on the deck with the gas fire place or sit by the wood burning fire pit. (We do not supply wood) but there may occasionally be some left on site. Location The location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! Located just 3 miles from Unity & 20 minutes from coastal Belfast, Maine, these Yurt style tents are overlooking 5 acre Wolph Pond nestled in the woods in Amish country. Yurts are furnished & linens are all included. Each individual yurt has its own solar shower just outside. Non-potable water, eco-friendly soaps and shampoo are provided at no charge. The bathroom consists of a clean “two holer” for those of you more comfortable with one another, outhouse, toilet paper provided. It’s a 5 minute walk to Wolph Pond where you’ll find some of the best Large Mouth Bass fishing in Maine. You’ll also catch Crappie, Bluegill and Sunfish if you prefer. We only allow catch & release fishing & ask that you bend the barbs on the fish hooks for the safety of the fish. Feel free to enjoy a paddle in one of our complimentary canoes or get in a leg workout with a paddle boat. Life vests are provided & must be worn at all times if you’re in one of the boats. Inquire about fishing gear rentals if you don’t have any or forgot to bring it. Ample parking provided & solar lights will guide you to your yurt. There are three units in total so if there are other guests occupying other units please be respectful and courteous. Some of the amenities are shared such as the communal fire pit, outhouse and boats. So just bring your food and drinking water and whatever else you may need and let us take care of the rest. We had an amazing girls trip night in the yurt! Nicole was so helpful and responsive and the property was stunning. We met 2 of their super friendly dogs, one of whom accompanied us on a walk down to the brook! The yurt was incredibly cozy and we were lucky enough to get to see the first snow that night. We look forward to returning to the yurt again sometime!

Weekend Trip to Jases Cove Way PVT. LODGING

The bathroom and shower (with real hot water) felt luxurious. The kitchen looked great, though we were so busy trekking in Acadia that we didn't really use it; we opted for local diners and brunch spots. It is very easy to find, no matter how late or dark it is, because it is really just off Route 1. The tent and surrounding areas were super clean, and you just needed to sit and enjoy the beautiful water view.

Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

My son (age 12) and I have been to Four Acre Woods for the last 2 years and really enjoyed it. The first year we tent camped and this year we stayed in the yurt. The campground is very small, which we like and each site is unique. Lots of amenities for such a small campground, they really think of the little things that keeps camping comfortable. The yurt was wonderful and the campsite has everything you need (we brought too much stuff). Just bring yourself, clothes, and food and you are good to go. We are fairly local, so it is a great weekend getaway, but we don't really explore the area when camping. If you want to experience the downeast Maine coast away from the more touristy spots, this is where you want to go.

The idyllic location for being in nature. The yurt was wonderfully set up. We enjoyed hot tea each night. The property is close to amenities while feeling removed from the hustle and bustle of it all. Despite the cold we enjoyed an outdoor shower. The property is near a trail to take in all the changing leaves. The hosts were so kind and thoughtful and provided spot on recommendations. We are so grateful!

Secluded. Loved this space. Even though they warned not to get there at night, we did… path is an adventure but follow it, you’ll eventually get there. Will be easier without the wheel barrel! Can hear traffic speeding by in distance but didn’t mind. Outhouse is the cleanest I’ve used. Yurt is a great size. Walk to lake and take the kayaks out. Don’t skip it.

We had a wonderful time staying in the yurt! The wood stove kept us nice and cozy at night and the farm itself is beautiful. The cafe on site has delicious food and drinks, and the location is close to Portland and shopping but also close to nature and outdoorsy activities. Full disclosure, the road and bar nearby were loud at night. We knew this from previous reviews so we were prepared and not too bothered, but definitely be aware that you will be able to hear it, especially if the bar is having an event!

We loved staying in the yurt! It was perfectly private, adorable, and we were surprised by the incredibly comfortable beds. This was the perfect size for our family of 5. The community room was warm (literally had a wood stove going at 6am!), stocked with coffee and hot chocolate, and hosts and the space alike were welcoming and helpful.
