Halfmoon Acres is a 32 Acre property in Wilsons Mills Maine on the Magalloway River between Lake Aziscoos and Lake Umbagog. Your hosts are Dave and Becca, both Registered Maine Guides, Wildlife Tracking Instructors, Canoe Guides, and Realization Process Meditation Teachers. It's a place to connect with the natural world. When you pull in you feel like you're out west, overlooking a field to the river and mountainous forests. Watch the sun set of Half Moon Mountain, wake up early for a peaceful trail walk or fly fishing. Let us know if you'd like to schedule a by donation nature and wildlife tracking walk. We have almost a mile of trails for walking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing.

This communal site is set right along the Magalloway River. You can set up in an open enchanted cherry forest with hammocks or tents, in the open field, or tucked into the forest. Parking is a few hundred yards from camping. We have carts to borrow for gear transfer. If you have accessibility issues please contact us.

Black Bear Cabin

Private and cozy cabin with simple but beautiful furnishings - perfect for a solo traveler, a couple, or a small family. Equipped with 2 burner stove and a propane heater, electric heat, high speed wifi, a queen bed and a futon. A small fold away dining table and chairs. We have 1/2 mile of river frontage on the Magalloway River (FFO). We have almost a mile of trails for walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. Aziscoos Lake boat ramp and Aziscoos Mountain trail are a short drive. 45 Minutes to Saddleback, 55 Minutes to Sunday River.

Spectacular Riverside Camping

Wow, what can we say. Camping on David’s land is truly magical. The energy of this place is palpable. We camped under a canopy of trees with the Magalloway River just steps away. The sounds of the river and songbirds were a constant presence. Each morning we awoke to a beautiful (but different) sunrise. My husband was able to fly fish right from our campsite, and able to access other fishing sites nearby. David was fabulous at communicating with us and answering any questions we had. We booked a guided float and would highly recommend. Clean composting outhouse on site. Large fire pit available. Trails to walk, fireflies at night, what more could you ask for at a campsite. Yurts are also available on the property. We will be back!

This is our second year coming here and as always its a blast even when we're getting rained on. Beautiful secluded camping area, David is extremely accommodating with the provided water and wood. We will be back again next year for sure

Absolutely beautiful campsite in a nice cherry grove and all the amenities needed perfectly surrounded on all sides by the mountains and river. The host was very comuncative and worked with us on scheduling issues on our end. Wish we had more time to spend out there to soak it all in

Loved it! David’s land is beautiful and virtually untouched…right up against the Magalloway River, surrounded by small mountains…this is rough, rural camping at it’s best, camp against the field or under the canopy of trees…equipment must be hiked into site…David provided carts….peace and tranquility in the wilderness with the security of a host who is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Firewood provided for very reasonable fee…

Absolutely magical experience at David’s super cool property. We came up for the eclipse and loved everything about this spot. David was friendly and welcoming and provided very clear expectations and instructions. Multiple sites at this farm/homestead. We were expertly paired near another family with kids. Flat camp spot tucked in the trees and right by the river. Spots to hammock or tent. My dog had a blast as well. I will definitely recommend this spot for rustic, private and beautiful camp spot.
