Perfect solo retreat setting
The Bird's Nest was the most perfect place for a solo new years retreat. The cabin is so beautiful and unique with lots of thoughtful little touches. The wood stove and plentiful firewood kept it plenty warm and comfortable. The trails were fun to explore. Lisa was extremely kind and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend The Bird's Nest and can't wait to come back during other seasons!

We loved the Birds Nest! Lisa was a wonderful host and provided quite a few things for our stay. The cabin is so quaint and it was such a relaxing spot - having only candle light at night, the cabin glows at night. We brought a camp stove, a cooler, a few cooking items, olive oil, etc. - paper plates and disposable utensils allowed us to minimize “camp dishes”. Most other things were there. It was in the thirties at night, but the wood stove kept the cabin very toasty inside as long as we kept it stocked; when we neglected it, Lisa had a thick down duvet which kept us warm. Overall, I would love to stay again and walk some of the trails and enjoy another opportunity to disconnect!

We absolutely loved our weekend getaway at the birds nest. A perfect peaceful spot to reconnect with nature. The trails on the property were well marked and the thoughtful touches provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay! The tiny house is very cute and has everything you need. It was quite cold when we went so we got the woodstove going pretty quickly and it warmed up nicely inside.

Simply the sweetest spot in the are
Everything was lovely at the Birds Nest. Lisa added so many little thoughtful touches. Inside there was cookwear, plenty of candles, blankets, perfect pillows, info about things to do, towns and local history. Also little things that might be forgotten, games, umbrella, French press, tea.
Looking through the windows at the birch and ferns was so peaceful.
The property and trails have artful touches. The cairns, painted rocks, sculpture complement the natural beauty. My dog loved exploring the area. I loved all of the mushrooms growing. There is a book in the nest for anyone interested in some fun identifying.
The back area of the camp was also impressive. The best outhouse ever is there. I mean so cute, clean and bright. The pump sink on the side was sweet. There was even a little fresh cut flower there. There was plenty of firewood.
I loved all the recycled items.
Lisa was available to answer my questions. My intention in staying there was to really get away from it all. She respected that. Their sweet dog Scout came to visit us once. He surprised Roxy, but then just went about his way.
I would 100% recommend staying here!!

Cozy tiny house with nice trails
We loved camping in Lisa and Brent’s land. The Bird’s Nest is very cute and it has everything you need in a camp site. We loved the Bird’s Nest’s story - make sure to read the welcome booklet! The trail system in Lisa’s property is very well marked and it’s much longer that we had expected, provided a great quick morning walk for our dogs while we explored the nearby mountains for longer hikes. Our dogs loved being able to run around off leash and enjoyed morning visits from Scout, Lisa’s goldendoodle. Lisa and her family was super friendly to us while also respecting our space. It was perfect!

I fully felt like a bird snuggled up in my nest - or in this case, the loft. I stayed with my sister and almost 2yo niece. My sister and I were both able to sleep comfortably in the loft (we're both tall 5'8" and 5'11"), while her daughter slept soundly in her pack and play in front of the couch below us. Very peaceful and quiet. There air was cooler than I expected during the heat wave, and I was grateful for the puffy down comforter and extra blankets. The fire pit was lovely on the second night. An overall lovely stay, and much needed connection with the trees, stars and crickets.

Quick night with kids
We only had a very short time in this adorable tiny house but loved it. There was just enough cozy space for the 3 of us. Thoughtful touches appeared in every corner. We had to leave shortly after waking up to a gorgeous forest visible through the floor-to-ceiling window wall so can't comment on cooking, firepit, trails, etc. Nonetheless, would highly recommend!

What an amazing weekend! Lisa has created a truly special and unique place in the Bird’s Nest. The property and trails are beautiful, and you have everything you need at the tiny house. Our 10-month old puppy loved running around the trails and exploring the area, it certainly kept her busy. We felt so welcomed, and were able to relax easily. A wonderful place if you’re looking for a little bit of solitude and access to some great hikes and swimming nearby!

Great host!
Perfect little spot to keep us away from the rain on our road trip! What makes this place so great was the hosts. They invited us down to drink wine and eat chex mix! Great place and great people. If you are staying here please meet and greet with the host and of course their pup Scout!

We loved spending our anniversary away from everything at the Birds Nest. The few things we neglected to bring were provided for. Once a day Lisa's charming pooch Scout would come by to check in on us. Simply a wonderful stay. We may repeat it next year. Thank you to our delightful host Lisa for making a home away from for weary travelers.

A very peaceful and easy stay. We got to watch a storm roll in, and then woke up amongst the leaves.
We used neither the indoor nor outdoor fire, but the indoor woodstove looked very fun to cook upon.
We hope to return sometime!

Cozy stay for 2 people, 2 pups!
Amazing spot, so well stocked. Bed had linens, host was welcoming and place was cozy. Perfect for us— two people and two chill dogs. Lots of space for the pups to run and a great trail system! Recommend bringing mud-friendly boots for the trek to the tiny home. Also note that the google maps coordinates are not correct— you’re looking for the intersection of Barker Rd and Herrick Mtn Road, 1/4-ish mile up Herrick and on the left. Look for the white mailbox!

Loved this cozy tree house!
Loved staying here!! It’s a wooden house that’s a big upgrade from staying in a tent! We had a great time cooking over the fire pit outside and the fireplace inside kept us cozy at night. The outhouse with a sink was very clean and comfortable as well. The tiny house is in the owners backyard, but far back, so you feel on your own, but safe! The place is surrounded by trees. You park in their driveway off to the side, and have a little walk through the trails to get to the tree house! We brought headlamps which helped us navigate very well, but Lisa provides everything you could need from lanterns, candles, and firewood, to drinkable water, soap, cooking supplies and more. The place is SO cute and you can really feel the love they put into designing this place and caring for it. We loved adventuring out to nearby hikes, and also enjoyed the trails that they have on the property. Would stay again. :)

Comfortable and memorable stay
This was an amazing place to stay! The cabin was beautiful and comfortable and had many thoughtful touches. The outhouse was very clean, had no odor and had good outhouse reading! Foot pump sink worked well for dish and hand washing. The trails were fun to explore. The provided dishes were helpful for camp cooking, but didn't have much for bowls or mugs. Overall a fun and memorable stay.

The tiny house in the woods is so adorable and my stay was so pleasant. Falling asleep to the sounds of the woods and the wind. Being able to read and just relax was amazing. I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Very cool reclaimed wood house
Lisa’s place is so cool. I love the unplugging. We have had a blast cooking outside over the fire pit and inside with the stove. There is a small trail system on their property and we dug the hikes. The tiny house is private, quiet and super dark at night with the tree coverage. She had been super accommodating and we look forward to future stays. Thank you.

Peaceful, Pleasant and Joyful Stay.
The tiny house in woods is beautiful, clean and comfortable. This house had everything.(wood stove, kitchen pots and pans, nice books, board games and cute little things) The bathroom was clean. Lisa was very responsive, helpful and provided everything we needed. Our family enjoyed the camp fire and the beautiful weather. We could not enjoy the trials because of the rainy day. Definitely we would like to visit again. Thank you Lisa and family for making this gorgeous bird’s nest! We like the name Birds’s Nest!!!

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience staying here! The property and tiny house are absolutely perfect- an adorable, charming, creatively built and lovingly cared for tiny cabin set in lovely, peaceful, bird-filled woods = a dreamy stay! Lisa and her husband are SO welcoming, helpful, accommodating, and kind, and there were many more amenities included than I expected! I spent two nights and it was hard to leave. I will most definitely be returning to stay here again- it was a magical and special experience and I cannot thank them enough!
