Since the 1980s, we have worked to restore the soil and make a "hand-built" life as farmers using pre-industrial organic methods. We maintain pollinator habitats, tend an fledgling orchard of heirloom-variety fruit trees, and conserve rare heritage-breed animals, including Tamworth pigs and Scottish Highland Cattle. Our shared love for Celtic folk culture has blended naturally with our love of sustainable agriculture to create Tir na nOg Farm. Today, the work of restoration continues with the help of farm partners, family, friends, WWOOFers, and other volunteers. This land is already better than we found it, but we hope it will remain a gathering-ground of culture and agriculture, tradition and innovation for generations to come.

FAQ: Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 9 years ago. It has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There is a large (150 gallon) tank of water for doing dishes and camp showers but we do not suggest drinking it. There is a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. We have wired lights that run off DC power when there is enough solar and we provide some battery packs for charging phones. We highly suggest bring some way to charge any of your personal electronics. There is no reliable way to do that in the cabin.
This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. ATV trails (also can be used for off-road biking)onsite connect with other towns for many miles and hours of riding. Plenty of lakes/rivers for kayaking. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

Watersrock Woods Campsites are private tent and remote camping locations in the beautiful Southern Maine forest. Site #1 is a decent sized remote tent site with spots for 1 -3 tents, 1 - 2 cars max and 6 guests. Site #2 is a very large remote tent site with spots for multiple tents, multiple vehicles and 8 guests. Site #3 is the smallest remote tent sites with spots for 1 or 2 tents, 1 - 2 cars max and 4 guests.
All 3 sites are mostly surrounded by 6' natural berms with lots of pine trees between each campsite creating additional privacy. They all have a picnic table and fire pit. Campsite site #2 is a larger space with plenty of room for multiple cars and 5 -6 tents. It has a propane barbecue grill, picnic table, fire pit, hammock, outdoor patio set with seating for 6.
A shared portapotty is on site and cleaned weekly from May 1st - October 31st. There isn’t electricity or running water and there is spotty cell phone service but a its great wooded spot for some remote camping in Southern Maine.
There is a nearby tote road for guests to go on nature hikes. (5 - 10 miles) There is a path that leads down to a brook that abuts the property and there is a 1/4 mile dirt road that leads to the Little Ossipee River that's great for wading, fishing, tubing, etc.. There are also free local public swimming spots within 10 minutes in any direction that don't get a lot of traffic and hiking trails in abutting towns.
The town of Limerick has a grocery store, hardware store, convenience store, a post office and dollar general for your other needs. (Within 5 - 6 minutes) It is a small town of approximately 3300 people. They say if you blink you'll miss it. It is very peaceful. Great for camping, fishing, glamping or relaxing! We love it out here and hope you will too!

When you think the road ends at the posted signs keep driving a short distance and you will start seeing signs. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles.
We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

We invite you to come stay at our location in the Western Maine mountains. We are located off of the Long Falls Dam Rd in Carrying Place Township, in the heart of Maine's wilderness. Our property offers beautiful mountain views; many nearby hiking trails; nearby swimming, boating, fishing and kayaking at Flagstaff Lake; along with numerous back roads to explore and look for wildlife. You can also find ATV trails about a half hour drive away in the town of Kingfield. Ensure you are guaranteed a spot just outside the Bigelow Preserve and everything it has to offer. Our sites sit behind a locked gate that is monitored 24/7 with a security camera. Also, although we are remote, we do offer Wi-Fi for your convenience.
Please take note that our sites are remote. We may be right off a paved road, but the closest town with a store is a half an hour drive. Also be mindful that this is the Maine wilderness, there are wild animals that frequent our location, along with biting insects such as deer flies and mosquitoes. This truly is a beautiful location, but please be sure to pack accordingly for your stay.

The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary was generously bequeathed to the Kennebec Land Trust in November 2016 upon owner Kendra Wakefield Shaw’s passing. Its 108-acres feature historic cabins and 4000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and marshlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants.
In 2018, the Maine Cabin Masters renovated two of the stream-side cabins, which now serve as rustic getaways for Hipcampers and the like.
A small dock and canoes are available for use on the wide and deep flatwater stream!
*NEW 2024 - A dock has been added to cabin 2, so each cabin now has it's own private dock.

You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the house and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The tiny cabin is furnished with a full sized bed, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.
A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor.
The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sunsets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals though we will provide ample space to respect your privacy.
A small gas grill and cooler can be provided.
Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Beautiful site! The host was very welcoming and communicative. We tented and appreciated that there were designated raked sandy areas to place a tent so you don’t have roots and rocks under your tent. Felt very private and secluded but still very close to stores/cafes/etc. Hands down the cleanest bathroom set up I have seen in a place that doesn’t have electricity/running water.

We loved our two-night stay at Sunrise Cabin! The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and private, and sleeping out on the sunroom was incredible!! We were visited by the sheep herd one morning and got to see them right outside the cabin. We stayed with our two cats who made themselves right at home. Sandi let us come down and meet the horses, chickens, and of course the sheep, which was definitely a highlight of the trip. There was tons of birdwatching (LOTS of hummingbirds), including owls at night. A wonderful place to stay and we will definitely be back!! Thanks again for a great time, Sandi and Brandon!!

Howdy everyone. It was a beautiful night camping at the property. John and his family were excellent hosts. Would absolutely recommend staying here. There was a porta-potty at the site with a fire pit and picnic table; a beautiful spot right on the river. Firewood was available for purchase as well as canoe and kayak rentals. John even provided us a history of the property which was very cool! Thanks for the awesome stay!

This camp site was the perfect set up for two of us. The platform allowed easy tent set up and out backs were thankful to not be sleeping on roots and rocks. There’s a little sink with a large jug for cleaning dishes, a fire pit, and a little private spot for a bathroom! Truly loved this campsite so much and we look forward to returning in the future!

We rented the entire campground for the weekend for our group of 20 and it was perfect. It's a beautiful site and the hosts are so accommodating. We plan to come back every year.

These are great sites! Everything is easy and clear. So nice to have a free bundle of firewood too. The grate over the fire pit was very nice for grilling. I will definitely be back!

This was a great spot to spend the night! Would have stayed longer if time allowed! We stayed at "Puma" which is a nice open area with plenty of space. We enjoyed a gorgeous night sky during the Perseid meteor shower! River is a short walk away and land is beautiful to walk around. The hosts were kind and quick to respond when we had questions. 10/10 would stay here again and recommend to other campers!

This was the perfect spot to serve as a base camp to explore the Castine area for a couple of days. Our site was reasonably level with a picnic table and firepit and surrounded by apple trees and raspberries. Downtown Castine and Wentworth Beach were within a short bike ride of the site. Some folks might like to know that there's a port-o-potty at the beach. We visited the beach several times including with our van so we could make and eat our dinner while watching the sunset.

2 nights at Slippery Rock Trails LLC
My husband and I had such an incredible time here! Karin greeted us on the first day and she was extremely kind and knowledgeable, sharing all the best places to explore and anything else we may need to know about our stay. We were very impressed with the site and how the hosts made sure to think of everything we could need. The site felt very private and secluded, with private beach access, and a canoe available onsite. A shed was onsite filled with firewood for purchase, paddles and lifejackets. A camp stove was provided along with a cooking grate for the firepit and a large jug of water. Tent was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the mosquito net was perfect for keeping bugs out so we could fully appreciate our surroundings. An evening storm did pass through late night, but the tent kept everything dry and safe. We loved being able to take the canoe out and explore the islands during the day, and relax on the beach and take in the Perseid meteor shower at night! We were able to see dozens of shooting stars in such a beautiful spot! John messaged us after the second day and graciously offered to let us stay an extra night. We were so thrilled and grateful to be able to stay in this magical place a little longer! John checked in on us and was very helpful and kind. His vast conservation efforts are part of what keeps this place so incredible! We cannot thank John, Karin and the rest of their family enough for creating such a wonderful experience. We cant wait to come back!

Good place to sleep overnight. There’s also a BBQ grill, but I’d recommend bringing your own. You can also make a nice 🔥 at night.

We had a peaceful weekend away! The cabin was clean, in good working order, and extraordinarily cozy. Waking up to see the sheep grazing right outside the window was such a bucolic treat. Sandi took the time to show us all her animals and talk about her experiences with them.
