My family would like to introduce you to Jay Birds Way, a privately owned 200+ acre haven with miles of dirt roads to explore. Conveniently located at the top of Murray Street and only a few minutes from downtown Bingham. The winding dirt roads are perfect for a bike ride or hike. Watch your dog flush a partridge or your little ones explore beautiful Jackson brook. Quiet solitude is what you will find here. There are no motorized sports allowed on this property. Sorry, but ATV access is not available. North Country Rivers is only 5 minutes away for your rafting experience. Wyman lake has a wonderful public swimming area and boat launch 15 minutes away in Pleasant Ridge and the Bingham Kennebec River boat launch is just a few minutes away. Bingham in centrally located to some of western Maine's favorite destinations such as Rangely, Sugarloaf, Flagstaff Lake, Jackman and beautiful Moosehead Lake.

Little Nook is tucked away approximately a mile onto our private property and yet easily accessible with any vehicle. Beautiful Jackson Brook winds along the back of the site. Depending on the amount of rain and season, Jackson can be anywhere from fairly deep and fishable to a quiet babbling brook. There is a platform large enough for a 4 person tent and plenty of space to pitch tents elsewhere. A picnic table and firepit are provided. The outhouse is just a short walk down the road. There are no hook ups available at this site and it is carry in/carry out. Dogs are always welcome, please just clean up after them. You're welcome to bring a hand saw to burn downed branches. Please just don't cut the trees or peel the bark. We are working on a couple more sites, but as of spring 2025, Little Nook is the only site on the property.

Tucked away along Jackson Brook, this campsite offers the perfect primitive camping experience. Guests will enjoy peaceful solitude and a private driveway just past the outhouse, located in the heart of our 200-acre property. You’ll have your own section of the brook, with no other campsites in sight. It’s an ideal spot for the whole family, including dogs. Bring your bikes to explore miles of private dirt roads!

The Landing

This big open campsite was designed with large groups in mind, as it is easy to access and has plenty of parking. There is a large picnic table and fire pit in the back of the site. Bring your mountain bikes, the kids and/or dogs and spend your day exploring miles of private dirt roads. A short walk down the hill will get you to Jackson Brook, where there's a bridge and nice shaded area to access the water. The outhouse is located by the bridge. It is a good 10-minute walk away. So, a camper with a bathroom is ideal. We are still in the process of slowly upgrading this site. In the meantime, it is still very much primitive and does not have electricity, a dump station or water.

The Landing
We had a lovely trip to the landing! As described, it was a broad, open site with lots of privacy around a network of dirt roads to explore. The beautiful stream and the outhouse were closer than the advertised 10 min walk. Do look at the map closely before you go to be sure to find the site. Our dogs loved running around and we all enjoyed the combination of exploring and relaxing.

I have stayed at both little nook and brook haven on ambers land both sites were amazing. Brook haven is completely private and there is almost no road noise. Access roads and outhouse are well maintained.

Had a wonderful time! The brook is right behind the campsite and is absolutely beautiful. You’re about a four minute drive into the woods, could only hear an occasional police siren from Bingham. Has a picnic table and campfire with an attached grate for cooking that you can pull aside to start the fire . Plenty of kindling around as well. Plenty of shade but also a nice opening to sit out in the sun. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will be back, we really liked being able to walk along the brook and it goes up to your knees, so you can cool off in it as well. Thank you for a peaceful weekend away!

Camping on Amber's land was exactly as described - quiet and absolutely stunning! The brook was still running in a few places during our stay giving a little background noise, and we had some turkeys swing in for a visit right before we headed out on our last day. Exploring the roads through the property was peaceful and well worth it. All of the little extras for starting a fire and camping comfortably were very much appreciated. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants to get away but still stay near town and connected!

We prepare and we plan, and this spot provides! An absolute secluded spot (only a whisper of in town noises) a platform that held up our rain tent and more than enough room to find coverage under the trees for our tent! With nothing less than a spring/summer nor’easter for our first camping trip of the year. We planned for the worst, and got the best! A small enclosure for the wood we found in town, a fire ring, and an absolutely outstanding outhouse. We are far from glamping people, so we don’t mind a few things that we have to accommodate for. But holy moly, does this one take the cream of the crop with our 40+ years combined…when it’s time to go, you want this one. Bring your potable water and that’s all you’ll need! Will absolutely recommend and stay again!

We enjoyed staying at Little Nook. It was a nice pull through site. It was very quiet and secluded there. The site has a platform, fire ring, firewood, and a trash can. The owners seemed to think of everything when they set this site up. The sounds of the brook that runs behind the site was nice too.

Great secluded site! Directions were easy to follow and had little signs along the way for Little Nook. The site is right next to a nice brook and there a nice clean outhouse a short walk down the road. There is plenty to explore around this site! Would love to go back!

“Little Nook” boasts several acres of dense woodland paradise where you will find its stream-side camp site. Easy to get to with a brief ride into town (about a mile +\-). Perfect place to escape the daily hustles and just connect with/within nature. Houston Brook Falls is quick drive away, and a sight worth seeing. (Bring your hiking boots and towel for this one.) Looking for more thrill on your time away from the daily grind? Little Nook is close to a plethora of options to keep you busy. Including white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, tubing, and so much more. I highly reccomend Little Nook to anyone!
