With 40 private acres of forest and trails to explore and 3,200 foot frontage on the Sebasticook river, this is an ideal setting for a peaceful offgrid retreat located just 10minutes from town. Excellent bird watching, kayaking, hiking, and fishing with well maintained trails that loop around the property. River views, and trails that wrap around the sides of the property take you on a peaceful stroll around the river bend. This property has a well maintained Amish built outhouse, with provided ecofriendly toilet paper, and wood chips for composting. We have Picnic tables, lawn games, grills, fire pits, kayaks, and more. Good cell signal and easy drive up spots. *water buckets, shovels, rakes, and common supplies available for all guests. Fires must be completely put out with water and shoveled before leaving. * *Kayak rentals and firewood are optional add ons for your stay.*

Enjoy 40 acres of woods to explore on well maintained trails surrounded by the Sebasticook River. Great fishing, bird watching, and hiking with trails along each side of the peninsula along the river. We are located just a short drive from Colby college and town. River Run cove site has a fire pit and picnic table and is close to the river with its own walkout. It's a Great spot for a small pop out/ travel trailer and the site is drive up and park. Shared supplies; rakes, charcoal grills, life vest, shovels, buckets, TP and yard games available for guests . Shared items and wood (available for purchase) is Located near the shared resources area and outhouse Additional supplies can be found in the green bin. Firewood available on site for purchase (or you can forage or bring your own local wood). There is a wheelbarrow by the outhouse that can be used to gather purchased firewood which is located on racks in this common area near the cabins. *Please put any borrowed items back near the cabin area where they belong. If you would like to borrow a charcoal grill for the full trip, please let us know in advance so we reserve and can confirm availability. Well maintained Compostable toilet/ outhouse on the property near supplies area (Compostable 1-ply TP included. Do not use non-compostable TP or throw anything into the toilets other than the compostable TP. Bring eco-friendly soap. We provide hand sanitizer in the outhouse) Carry in carry out all trash There is a transport station down the street ~8min away.

Dale cabin built in the 1970’s in the traditional Maine log cabin style, is a spacious sturdy cabin that accommodates 4+ guest. It features a wood burning stove, sink with rain water collection barrel for hand and dish washing, and queen bed setup. Complete with a front porch facing the river for stunning views watching the sunrise on the river or star gazing, this cabin is a gem in the woods. Enjoy nature and the peaceful sounds of the river with 40+ acres to explore with 3,200 feet frontage on the Sebasticook river. This Cabin easily sleeps four+ for larger groups and families. Dale cabin includes a gas 4 burner grill, additional cots, hammock, basic cooking supplies, and a clean and well maintained Outhouse with eco-friendly TP and hand sanitizer provided near the cabin. You will need to bring: your own drinking water, queen/full sheets, pillows and bedding (sleeping bag recommended), towels, linens and flashlight, additional pots and pans of needed (we leave at least 1 pan in the cabin and a kettle) For Groceries and supplies there is a dollar general, or grocer about 10min from the cabin + Many great farm stands & local treasures to explore within a couple miles. *Firewood can be purchased (or you can bring your own local wood, or forage for wood) {bring your own paper/kindling} kayak rentals available . Please feel free to inquire. What we provide: 🧻TP is in outhouse extra in green storage bin. Hatchet 🪓 (so you can harvest your own wood and kindling) Gas grill (bring propane) *Charcoal grill (may need to pick up charcoal) 🍳 pan, and Cooking/grilling utensils. Newly built solar powered log cabin crafted with wood mindfully harvested from our land by local artisans with a keen eye for detail. Easily sleeps 4 with loft. Celeste cabin features a large covered front porch with river views and walkout, an outdoor fire pit, picnic table, grills, games and more. Celeste cabin has a wood burning stove inside and firepit outside, solar powered overhead lights, and a charging station for small devices. While there is no wifi, the area has very clear cell reception so you can stay connected while offgrid. Included supplies: plates, bowls, cups, silverware, kettle, cooking pans, grilling utilcels, lantern/ flashlight. 2 cots in cabin with two twin mattresses. compostable TP in the outhouse, games, cards, and general cooking supplies. Small gas burner grill and charcoal grill. You will need to bring your own bedding. Sleeping bag recommended twin sheets for the two twin beds. (2nd cot is stored under the bed with additional supplies. ) We are dog friendly. Just let us know in advance if you plan on bringing a dog. Site Features: 40 acres of woods to explore with carved out trails surrounded by the Sebasticook River. Great fishing, bird watching, hiking and kayaking Rakes, Shovels, Buckets, Horseshoe, cornhole, and other lawn games and shared camp resources available. Well maintained Amish built Compostable toilet/ outhouse close to cabin. Compostable TP included as well as natural soap and hand sanitizer. Carry in carry out all trash. bring own drinking water, (there is a trash transfer /recycling center down the street from the cabins ~8min)

The bugs were invasive and the site barely had a view of the river despite having "river overlook" in its title. The parking space needs a bit more work as a stump nearly stabbed my under-carriage battery.

Tenting At River Run Cove Site

River Run Cove Site

We loved tent camping on the river run cove site! We loved how peaceful it was. The water is just a short walk from where we put our 14’ x 10’ inflatable tent. You can see and hear the water on the Sebasticook River right from your camp site. We saw multiple fish breaking the water surface and could hear them from our site making a splash. We saw a bunch of Canadian geese, hummingbirds, a blue heron one night and multiple other bird species. We brought motorized kayaks that weigh a little over 100 pounds and there was definitely not nearly enough water for them. You could use lighter kayaks where you didn’t need very deep water but again it’s kind of spotty in the area depending on how much rain there has been. We have e-mountain bikes and we had fun with those taking a ride out to the main road. We biked from our site down to the shared outhouse by the cabins and then from there all the way out to the end of the road and back to our site and it was almost 4 miles.

The site was nice and quiet and private. You could see the water and walk down to it. The road to the site was tight for our Transit van, I don’t think I would have wanted to take anything larger.

The Dale at River Run Rustic Cabins

It feels so far away from everything, but just a quick 10 minute drive, you're back in town. We upgrade from River Side view to the Dale Cabin. I can not recommend Dale Cabin enough. Upon arrival you are met with a great view of the Sebasticook River. Cabin is spacious. Plenty of room for a family of 4. The peace and quiet is unmatched. Just you and the sounds of nature. The fishing is amazing! Practically every other cast you're catching a fish. You need to stay at the Dale Cabin. A review is great, but you a stay there will be even better. Cannot recommend River Run Rustic Cabins enough!!!

This was a perfect spot! My tent uses hammock straps to set up, so all the trees were perfect. We heard the river all night which was very relaxing. Jennifer was very responsive and answered all our questions. Even had her wood guy come deliver more wood for us.

I had a great time camping on this beautiful property. I enjoyed fishing on the river and taking in the scenery, which included many bald eagle sightings. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond. My only regret is not spending another night.

It was a beautiful site. River roaring was a great sound and beautiful. The cabin was cute and clean. Lots of amenities we didn't expect: flashlights, lanterns, plates, kettles, pillows, camping chairs, etc. It worked out great for our weekend trip for our son’s baseball tournament nearby.

We were just passing through, and this was a great stop on the way to Acadia. The location was absolutely beautiful, and it was nice and cozy.

What a gorgeous site this is! Choose between two awesome cabins or campsites. You cannot go wrong with any of them. Dale Cabin is well equipped with a stocked kitchen, desk, stove, and bed. I really loved having a fire by the water. My dog loved the trip too!

Celeste off-grid River Cabin Dog+

This is a super nice cabin and location. It appears to be handmade with a great deal of care. The cabin is made out of whole logs that are well preserved and caulked. There were such nice touches, such as door handles crafted out of tree limbs, and a solid woodstove with a supply of dry firewood. The host had thoughtfully left flashlights, soap, blankets, pillows, and more. And the battery / solar system powers a colored LED light that our kids loved. And it is a very quiet spot on the river with mature forest all around it and trails for kids to explore. Our only suggestion would be around mapping and signage. During our visit, we had to arrive late. We attempted to use the GPS coordinates provided in the ad and align them with the written directions but discovered that they sent us to a different location on the opposite side of the river. A friendly family came out of their house and corrected our location. We also had a little difficulty finding the correct dirt road. We reached out to the host, and she was very responsive, gave her number, and guided us the rest of the way. Apparently, a white arrow sign had fallen down and she was working to establish an address for the property, so people did not need to rely on GPS or written directions. We thought we’d share this story just as a reminder, it is sometimes best to avoid relying on GPS only, but in no way to detract from the high quality of this property.

A nice quiet spot by the river. Bald eagles and egrets were around while we were there. Great location, close to larger towns but out of the way.
