What a nice place to camp! Easy to find and once there felt private and secluded. Lots of peepers and lighting bugs in the evening. Definitely would return!

The site was so peaceful!! Lots of birds and other wildlife. The site was right next to a river. Lots of peepers(frogs) at night. Bathroom was very clean. It was somewhat buggy, so I would highly recommend bug spray or a net.

Great site as described. Outhouse was clean. Beautiful stream with fish in it. Was buggy because of the wetland.

The Chunk Farm camp
Great spot to camp, stopped briefly on the way through for the night. We are very excited to spend more time there on our next visit, hopefully soon! Host was very helpful when we had trouble navigating to the spot a bit later at night when it was dark.

We were looking for a place that was quiet and to ourselves and it was just that! The owners came to greet us when we got there and again when we were leaving. They were very kind, generous, and accommodating. The area was clean and well taken care of. The porta potty was clean and stocked with toilet paper(the good kind too!)

Very private and helpful hosts. I arrived to a fresh roll of toilet paper in a clean portable bathroom along with dry wood stacked and in the fire pit. Land is beautiful and finding it was very easy. I could see it getting very buggy in the Summer but going in April was perfect.

This place was great! Lovely camp site, owners had wood, a fire pit, and a clean porta potty on site. Area is plenty big enough for an RV (and can turn around) and several tents. Very private, and nice little view of a creek.
The owners were great people and checked on us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. They are trying to build up their farm so this camping business supports that effort - so added bonus if you stay is that your money supports local!

Private, mowed site with an outhouse. Lots of frogs to lull you to sleep. Joe was generous and helpful. Bugs were out but able to tolerate.

Beautiful, private spot with river access (though a little tricky climbing up and down). We kayaked and fished and had a great time despite some uncomfortable weather.

We had so much fun tenting out here! It was peaceful and secluded. The only person we saw while there was Joe, the host. He followed us in to greet us and then later brought us more wood! They were fast to respond and available for any questions. It was a wonderful time and the price was great for what you are getting access too! The porta potty was maintained well. And the dirt road in was easy to access even in a car. We will probably camp here again in the future!

Really really nice space. Quiet, secluded, and loved sitting by the creek listening to the birds and frogs! Dogs loved it too (so much space to run around and roam!). Definitely buggy, but that was to be expected on a Maine summer evening. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at this site and will be returning (maybe even with friends!) We came to camp in our car for a meteor shower. The site was super secluded (about 1000ft off road from last house) and we had awesome views of the stars and almost no sounds from any roads.
We had a little trouble finding the site at first but that’s mostly because we arrived after dark. We booked last minute and still, firewood was set aside for us before we got there. The porta potty was conveniently close, and as far as I could tell, it would only be used by us. There was only about ~1/3 roll of toilet paper but that was enough for our stay and the hosts gave me the impression they would bring more if needed (they drove down to greet us shortly after our late arrival).
It didn’t seem their other site was booked on Hipcamp, so I can’t say for sure, but I get the impression that even if it was booked, you could still have a really private and quiet camping experience. We couldn’t even see the other site (unless I’m so wrong and it is shared with the location we camped in).
I’ll definitely be returning sometime. There was enough space for another car or two for a group trip and definitely lots more to explore in the beautiful area. Thanks for hosting us Julia!

The spot is very beautiful, very private and very clean. Hosts have been super attentive, very fast with answering questions, fantastic service.
The one thing that was bad were the 10000000 of mosquitos. I know, thats not the hots fault, it was a very rainy summer, so mosquitos are everywhere. The one thing i would have expected is the host giving us the heads up that there is an insane amount of them to let us choose to take the place or not prior to booking.
We thankfully had a van with mosquito net to be able to sit inside with the door open, but just in the short time setting up, we got so many bites, it was crazy.
After around 8.30 pm we could safely exit the van and we had a campfire and a very beautiful night.

We LOVED our time at Sugar Maple Farm!! It was definitely a little buggy (we'd been warned ahead of time, so had plenty of bug spray and citronella candles!), but the peace and quiet were fantastic!! Our critters loved to roam around the river and the woods. Julia and Joe were amazing hosts -- so helpful and friendly! We will definitely come back here to visit!! We loved it here! Very remote and peaceful! Exactly what we were looking for! If your looking to get away from it all, this is it! Julie was prompt and sweet in communicating and Jon stopped by to introduce himself and check if we needed anything. Make sure to bring mosquito repellent as with any location near woods and/ or water. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeously remote feeling site. Resident beaver was not amused by us being there though! Friendly host set us up with big sticks which were SO appreciated! Would definitely stay again.

Spontaneous find and first time to use Hipcamp!! Julia was so fast to respond, we were thoroughly surprised! The spot was so nice, very level and having a portapotty available was nice! We had a wonderful fire with the wood that was provided (loved that we didn’t have to get our own) Again, thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us!

We absolutely loved our time here! Very private beautiful little site. Easy to find just outside of town, 2wd accessible. The river water was very low but we walked up stream a little bit and found a nice spot to set our camp chairs in the water and drink some cold ones! A nice fire pit was including with wood supplied for our trip too! Thanks again for letting us enjoy your land!
