We have four raised platforms, accessible by car, each with a canvas-covered A-frame, and each with a double or two single mattresses in it. Each platform is nested in their own private setting around the edges of our 12-acre organic blueberry barren. All four platforms are fully screened-in, with stylish canvas-covered timberframes and circular red doors. These canvas tents are relatively bug-proof and waterproof; you do not need to bring a tent! You do need to bring your own bedding. ***If you are particularly sensitive to bugs, you may want to bring your own tent (to put inside our tent) or a mosquito net. This is the Northeast during the summertime, we cannot ensure there will be no bugs. Blueberry Land is part of Smithereen Farm, but is located around the corner from our Home Farm on Youngs Cove Road, near Reversing Falls. This is an off grid, rustic site with only a port-a-potty. If you need to use any other amenities, you are welcome to use the WIFI, fill your water bottles, charge your electric vehicle and buy supplies at the Smithereen Farmstore (12 Little Falls Road, Pembroke). We sell cold drinks, beer and wine, frozen fish, meat, our own fruit popsicles, also organic veggies, honey, products from many local and Maine farms, camping supplies, ready to eat food, snacks, chocolates and even fresh baked cookies. Park at the store, and then jump into the Pennamaquan River (two dams, a rope swing) to cool off after exploring the town. Note: there is no potable water at the site, you will need to bring a vessel and fill up in town. There are beautiful walking, biking and canoeing opportunities in every direction—check out Cobscook Shores, Downeast Coastal Conservancy trails by Reversing Falls, Maine Coast Heritage trails on the Bold Coast and at Sipps Bay, Nature Conservancy trail at Hersey Point, Shackford head at Eastport, and of course much more on Campobello. Blueberry bushes are low, native, fruit-growing, covered in flowers in spring and then berries in summer, turning bright bright red in the fall when kissed by frost. Our blueberries are certified organic by MOFGA and surrounded by birch, fir, spruce and flowering perennial beds to improve insect habitat. Please DO NOT DRIVE/ tread ON THE BERRIES, they are food that we harvest and sell! Park in the parking lot, three sites are immediately visible, the fourth site is a further drive down the road, past the port-o-potty, in the back field, to the left. Low hung vehicles beware! If in doubt park in the parking lot. Upon booking, we will send you a PDF welcome packet filled with helpful information about the farm, local sites to see, and a comprehensive list of our recommendations. We will say it again: remember to prepare for MOSQUITOES in summer! We really recommend you approach Washington County as an opportunity to PICNIC! The "dining out" options are limited. Bring a pocketknife, a frying pan, a big cooler for butter and milk with ice packs so you can pick up local crabmeat (Betty's Crabmeat) and mayo and salads (Smithereen Farmstore) and eggs from ends of driveways, bring a cutting board—a big water jug, a camp stove/kettle, more warm socks than you think you need... and a sense of adventure! We have a EAT DOWNEAST digital map, guidebook and brochure at the Farmstore you can pick up a copy or download from our website. Thank you for taking the time to support supporting local farmers and food businesses of Washington County! We wish you a pleasant stay all the way DOWNEAST!Blueberry Land boasts stylish canvas-covered, raised timberframe tent platforms with a sea breeze looking out on beautiful blueberry fields just up from Reversing Falls in remote Pembroke, Maine. Blueberry Land is indeed where we harvest our certified organic wild blueberries. Surrounded by woodlands, the barrens is located on the west side of Leighton Point Peninsula, on Youngs Cove Road, near Reversing Falls. Blueberry Land is typically very quiet, and is only active with public visitors during blueberry harvest season (July/August). It is surrounded by forest, and each camping site is nestled and private. The camping sites are platforms with triangular timberframe shelters built by Raivo Vihman @haystackjoinery. All four platforms are fully weather-proof with double-lined mesh and canvas doors. If you are particularly sensitive to bugs, you may want to bring your own tent (to put inside our tent) or a mosquito net. It is very breezy at the end of Leighton Neck, but there are still mosquitoes at night! This is an off-grid, rustic site with only a port-a-potty. If you need to use any other amenities, you are welcome to use the WIFI, parlor (and buy supplies!) at the Smithereen Farm Store (right down the road at 12 Little Falls Road, Pembroke). That's also where you can jump into the Pennamaquan River to cool off after exploring the town by bike. Blueberry Land gets the most glorious warm afternoon light. There are beautiful walking, biking and canoeing opportunities in every direction— this site is just down the road from Reversing Falls park and trails. Blueberry bushes are low-growing, covered in flowers in spring and then berries in summer, turning bright bright red in the fall when kissed by frost. Our blueberries are certified organic by MOFGA and surrounded by birch, fir, spruce and flowering perennial beds to improve insect habitat. Blueberry Land is 12 acres in total. There is lots of wildlife, and many trails through the forest to explore! Don’t leave any food out or you may find a bear in your campfire pit! These sites are first-come, first-served. You are assured a site, but we cannot assure which site will be available when you get there. Park in the parking lot, the fourth site is a further walk to the back field past the toilet. Please reach out with any questions. Upon booking, we will send you a welcome packet filled with helpful information about the farm, local sites to see, and a comprehensive list of delicious dining options and farm stores in the area. We look forward to sharing our land with you! ***** Important notes: The Smithereen Home Farm is closed to camping for the 2024 season. Some of the camper images of this property may depict the Home Farm. The Home Farm is not open for visitors outside of our scheduled public events. Please visit smithereenfarm.com/events to see when we are open for visitors. Please note that we do not accept RVs. We do accept campervans, cars, and pick-up trucks with campers held within the bed of the truck. HipCamp doesn't allow us to differentiate between "car" and "RV" so please read the details. Triangle tents at Blueberry Land
Great place, I'd stay again
I stayed here for Independence Day as it was the closest available campsite to Eastport. I arrived at around 8 am, and since there no campers from the night before I could check in without issue. One of the owners was on site and he was great. I was at site #1, which is more secluded from sites #2 and #3. The tent was much bigger than I expected and was loads of room for only one person. There was a fire pit and some precut wood already stacked. I stopped at the Smithereen Farm Store on my way to Eastport and got a delicious chocolate chip cookie and met the other owner, who was a pleasure to talk to. On my way back from Eastport in the afternoon I ended up catching the owners in the parking lot as they left, but they graciously reopened the store for me so I could get some groceries for that night. The store also has a car charging station, and taps for refilling water. A couple of days before my stay I also received an extremely comprehensive .pdf which explained a lot of the noteworthy places around the entire state, as well as the area directly around the site. I was very happy with everything about the site, as well as the wider Pembroke/Eastport area. Dogs are allowed on site, and I'd note for dog owners that I pulled four ticks off of myself at the campsite. The blueberries weren't fully ripe, but there were a few delicious berries present. Great place, I highly recommend it

Triangle tents at Blueberry Land
What a lovely spot! Very peaceful and beautiful. We were the only ones there and had our pick of the tent platforms, all of which were nestled in the blueberry fields and wild roses.

Triangle tents at Blueberry Land
Another great stay at Blueberry Land. The place looks seldom used, but that’s not a complaint. Having the place to ourselves is exactly what we were hoping for. Be mindful that the grass is tall, and there were a lot of ticks (all very large and easy to spot). Thermacells took care of the black flies and mosquitos. Lots of precut firewood on site. Would stay here again!
