Try our rolled and groomed cross country ski trails in the winter.
Hidden Valley is a Community Forest, part of over 16,000 acres protected and stewarded by Midcoast Conservancy, a non-profit. A portion of the booking fees supports the organization’s mission to protect and restore vital lands and waters in midcoast Maine on a scale that matters.
NOTE: ALL of the cabins and campsites are walk-in only. There is no overnight camping allowed in the parking lot.

Searenity is off-grid private land, with no lighting, with gravel access roads only. Access during dark hours, is difficult for new arrivals, we REQUIRE THAT GUESTS ARRIVE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY.
We have a farm, DO NOT have Cell phones. Only near computer or LAND LINE phone, a few times a day. If you need to contact us, there may be response delay.
We also drive through Searenity guest area several times a day, and if you need anything you can always ask in person.

FAQ: Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 9 years ago. It has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There is a large (150 gallon) tank of water for doing dishes and camp showers but we do not suggest drinking it. There is a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. We have wired lights that run off DC power when there is enough solar and we provide some battery packs for charging phones. We highly suggest bring some way to charge any of your personal electronics. There is no reliable way to do that in the cabin.
This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

Private quiet SINGLE SPOT on a lovely hilltop wild blueberry field with stunning 270 degree views! Solitude without being remote, 2 miles from Rt 17 (past Union Country Club 9 hole golf course).
3 miles from downtown Union (featuring 3 Convenience stores, 1 Grocery store, 2 Banks with ATMs, 2 Restaurants, Pizza, Gas and a Laundromat) and only 12 miles to Camden and Rockland. Good Cellular signal.
Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure.
Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. You may even stumble upon wild raspberries and blackberries, if they're in season.
The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August.
No other campers are visible from your site - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you!
Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay.
Note: No Trespassing signs are posted for the farm operation - these Do Not apply to Hipcampers! Please drive past them through the open gate to the site.
Pack in and pack out! The 2 dumpsters along the main road are PRIVATE and are camera monitored. The owners require a $50 fee for unauthorized use, so please don't use them without permission.

When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. At the heart of the property is a large farm pond that has been used to water livestock for generations. Centrally located in MidCoast (just 20 minutes from Route 1), out in the country you'll find a "Country Getaway" situated on over 16 acres. A large field borders mostly wooded land with an old farmhouse that dates back to the late 1700's. Rumored to have been a place for travelers to stop for a hot meal and/or some shut eye before heading back out on their journey. There was an orchard here, along with a cider press and the first town meeting was also held in the main house.

Campsite is held in a small, level clearing of gravel and grass. Surrounded on all sides by tall pines and an assortment of plant and animal life. For the bird watcher there are a multitude of birds in the area making themselves heard day and night. And for the naturalist plenty of indigenous flora to find and study. The site is also miles away from light pollution, so bring your telescope and scour the dark night sky. The White Mtn National Forest is about an hours drive with hundreds of trails. Plenty of lakes to choose from as well. Long trail is just .4mi down the street. They have a hiking as well as a biking trail. Come gather friends and family or lone adventurer around the fire, enjoy a robust meal and recant the days adventure. Firewood sold on site(wood and kindling, $5 a bundle. Cash or venmo). There are no trash bins as this is a carry in carry out site and please do not burn up trash in the fire. There is a drywell and pit for releiving oneself. Nothing fancy but it works.

Wildlife abounds both on the property and across the river at Androscoggin Riverlands State Park.Quite often, a gentle breeze off the water will offer relief from black flies and mosquitoes, but the right bug repellent is recommended especially to fend off those pesky ticks that are so common in Maine.

We are set high on the piney east bank of the Kennebec River. The view is of the setting sun over the untouched hillsides on the opposite bank or the rising sun illuminating and bringing to life that same hillside while you take your first peak of morning. The river rushes by, not a house to be seen. In the distance a loon frolics and sings out it's soulful call.
Bald eagles soar over head, fishing, scanning the river valley. Owls hooting in the valley, come closer in the night to see who is still up. There is an echo in the darkness, works during the day too. The stars blaze overhead in the night sky, watch "satellites" track across heavens and the Aurora Borealis, if you are lucky and still up around the camp fire.
It is here in front of our camp, where The Kennebec River continues to flow but begins slowing down, stacking up depth behind the Moscow Dam and turning into Wyman Lake, 14 miles of the most scenic boating or paddling you can imagine.
200 yards north of the camp, The Appalachian Trail crosses the river, watch hikers waiting for the famous canoe ferry crossing. Or, hike a section of the trail, Pierce Pond is a healthy 2 hr hike from the camp, to a pristine pond for a remote dip or some fishing.
Bring that kayak or stand up paddle board, the river is fun right here, explore for an hour, a day or days. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing are huge in West Forks, (10 minutes North up 201, watch out for deer and moose) you'll paddle The Dead, The Kennebec and the Penobscot rivers, all the major tour companies are very local and there are cool bars and restaurants.
You can tube down from the Forks right to the cabin in a couple of hours.
We have a big high and dry platform for your tent and the whole space all to yourselves.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Searenity! Kris was an amazing host and it was a pleasure talking with him about the property, local places to explore and the idea of simplifying life.
The property is the perfect place to escape the noise, stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life. It offers a truly peaceful, primitive camping experience where you bring everything you need and get to enjoy nature without all the distractions of the modern world. Waking up to breathtaking sunrises over the Atlantic was an unforgettable experience, and having a few seals come by to say good morning each day made it even more special.
The location is also fantastic, with plenty of incredible places to explore within about an hour’s drive. We especially loved visiting Schoodic Point, Great Wass Island and the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse at the easternmost point of the United States.
If you’re looking for a quiet, off-the-grid getaway to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy the beauty of coastal Maine, Searenity is an absolute gem. We look forward to coming back in the near future!

Wonderful little campground. Well set up and appointed. Great bath house, firewood on site and a dish sink and laundry. Couldn’t ask for more. We stayed in a regular site, the yurts looked really nice.
Nice quiet beach just about a mile down the road. Stars at night were amazing.
