Wonderful Camping
This was our second time staying here and I still couldn’t recommend this place more. Mike and Cheryl are such wonderful hosts they do everything to make sure your stay is enjoyable. There’s so much to do and they do such a good job with site upkeep.

Highly recommend, beware of ticks
My friends and I love staying on Mike and Cheryl's property! They are both high communicative and proactively reached out to me. Mike greeted us on the property when we arrived and showed us to our campsite on Bobcat Island. The island feels more secluded than the other campsites, but our biggest complaints were the sheer number of ticks and uneven campground. We were a group of 7, so if you are a smaller group, it may be easier to avoid the uneven parts of the campsite. But there's no avoiding the ticks! What we loved most about Mike and Cheryl's property were the chicken coop (free eggs!) and the serenity of the pond.

Lovely Place & Amazing Experience
Amazing experience. Lovely hosts and beautiful place. I loved camping at Mike & Cheryl's True Serendipity Homestead! Every camping site is different. you can be near water or isolated in the woods with maple trees around you. Each site has fire place and wooden bench. They also provide us enough wood for free to las through one night. Birds and kayaking. fresh eggs and fresh veggies. On top of all that, Mike & Cheryl are super cool. Mike is very helpful and inspiring. It was very pleased to hear the story of Mike's life and that is some courageous & inspiring tale. MIke & Cheryl has done a great job with the facilities of drinking water and toilet at this site. This is a perfect spot if you are planning to visit Cadillac mountain early in the morning. This place is only 30-40 minutes drive from Cadillac and Acadia. 10 minutes from a small & beautiful town.

Serene, quiet and relaxing
Amazing hosts (Mike and Cheryl), amazing location, serene, quiet, only a few camp sites, lots of fun for the kids (canoeing, wondering the trails, fishing), while the adults got a chance to slow down and relax. Chickens were a big hit with the kids-they would visit, hold and pet the chickens. Such a clean bathroom. Mike demonstrated some of his blacksmithing skills-totally fascinating!

Bobcat Island
Mike and Cheryl were super nice and friendly and gave us all we needed to know while giving us our space. We loved bobcat island so much and can’t wait to bring our friends here! The only thing is, we just went this past weekend which is the worst time for ticks we were told. We saw at least 10 and took home about 4 on our bodies so if you hate ticks it might not be the place to stay this time of year

We think this place is a gem. Mike greeted us with wood and a friendly conversation. The camp site was well maintained and we had no trouble at all finding it. The land is secluded, filled with wildlife, and absolutely lovely. Mike even offered us free chicken eggs and mentioned that summer time garden veggies are always on the table when they start up. The drive to Acadia is just under 45 minutes, but we thought it was well worth it. We are looking forward to coming back!

Goose Paradise - May camping trip
My husband and I stayed at Goose Paradise and absolutely loved it, True Serendipity Homestead is my new favorite camping place! We wanted to stay close to Acadia National Park, it was perfect. We were right near the water, hung out with ducks and geese! Firepit, picnic table, firewood, canoes, fancy outhouse, fresh eggs, so many amenities it's a great place! We will definitely be back!

Car camping, with so much wildlife!
Had the pleasure of staying on Mike and Cheryl’s beautiful homestead for 5 days. They were incredibly hospitable, offering me farm fresh eggs and even helping me out with a low tire pressure problem. Mike also pointed out a family of geese when I arrived whose goslings hatched during my stay! I hope to come back and visit again in the future to learn more about the homestead and enjoy the wildlife.

Blissful Stay
Coming from London & city life, we needed to unplug and recharge our energy/battery. Mike and Cheryl have a lovely estate but their welcoming energy & warmth was what made this stay special. We felt right at home the minute we got there. Mike helped us make a fire which made our first evening of outdoor cooking so memorable. A few ducks were waddling by us and we immediately adopted them. Was even able to feed them! Mike gave us a tour of his property and showed us all that he had built himself and imparted a lot of wisdom, really inspiring energy. Anything is possible! We only stayed 2 days but that was enough for us to feel heartbroken when we had to leave. Will remember this experience fondly. I could go on and on but I advise to anyone who is considering it to go stay at True Serendipity Homestead, live it for yourself, life will never be the same xxx Olivia & Arvind

The beautiful pond is the perfect place for beautiful sunsets, the hosts are incredibly friendly and have great stories to share around the campfire, the fresh eggs are a delicious touch to breakfast, canoeing on the pond is a peaceful and picturesque activity, and the cool blacksmith forge on the property is a unique and fascinating experience. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a warm and inviting camping experience in the heart of nature. I can’t wait to go back!

We loved the place that Mike and Cheryl created! We stayed at site 3 with our 18ft van, it was really big enough, easy accessible and had a lovely view over the pond. We walked the short trail they made and enjoyed the presence of the ducks and chickens. We were allowed to grab fresh eggs in the morning and veggies if we wanted:) Would love to stay here again!

Mike and Cheryl are such kind hosts on their beautiful, peaceful homestead! I arrived late at night in the rain and was able to find the place thanks to their instructions and using the coordinates with Google Maps. I stayed on the island and did not mind bringing my gear across the little bridge and trail. If you’re wanting an easier set up, the other campsites are also great. I loved feeling a little more privacy with a bit of tree coverage and I preferred my view of the pond. The farm fresh eggs were delicious! I appreciated the clean restroom facilities and potable water. I would certainly return and stay longer. I loved visiting Acadia National Park and the nearby harbors each day.

New England Road Trip!
This was an amazing find on Hipcamp on a road trip through New England states. We contacted Mike and Cheryl less than 24 hours before we would arrive and they were quick to respond with questions we had. The site was well maintained and easy to find and set up. Mike met us out there while we were setting up and made us feel right at home. We decided to stay an extra night and they were so accommodating and worked things out for us so we had an extra day to spend at Acadia.

Inspiring stay on the Homestead
We absolutely loved our stay here. The lot is beautiful, and Mike and Cheryl were great. Cheryls art and Mikes work around the land were inspiring to see, and we even got fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning and a fun blacksmithing demonstration from Mike! Highly recommended for the nature, as well as the company & experience! Also, it was a great spot for our day trips into Bar Harbour and Acadia National Park. We hope to be back again soon!

Mike and Cheryl are very kind and generous people and it was a joy staying at their homestead. We enjoyed fresh eggs, produce and meeting the chickens. We stayed at site 3 which was good for 2 tents and had a lovely view of the pond. Site 5 also looked very cool, as it's out on its own little island. The campground is also well equipped with flush toliet, drinking water and recycling/trash receptical.

What an amazing camping experience. We camped on campsite 1 and woke up to a gorgeous view of the lake each morning. There was even a blue heron that visited one morning. The campsite was super comfortable as well with very little bugs in Oct. especially for a space next to a pond. Mike came by when we checked in to welcome us to the land and point out all the awesome amenities. There were eggs and garden veggies offered for us to make a tasty breakfast in the morning as well. What a wonderful experience. We hope to be able to come back soon.

I loved camping at Mike and Cheryl's. We arrived slightly later and Cheryl came down to make sure we found the site without any hassle and the following morning Mike came down and did the same. We stayed at Site 1 which was right on the pond but still provided enough distance between the other sites that it still felt decently private. Based on whether you want a more engaging or more to-yourself camping trip Mike and Cheryl do a good job of providing that. Overall, it was wonderful stay and will definitely consider staying here again.

We loved the campsite! Cozy little island, parking and path to our campsite were clear. Beautiful space. As an FYI, the campsite isn't totally secluded/private – campsites across the pond have visibility, and vice versa – and that created a nice companionable vibe. Mike and Cheryl were really welcoming and kind, and shared their veggies with us which we appreciated! Also great outhouse, clean and well-supplied with a flushing toilet.

Site 5!
We stayed at site 5 which was beautiful and secluded (although you do have to carry items from parking spot to the island). Mike and Cheryl are very nice and offered fresh eggs and tour of the blacksmith workshop to visitors! Very fun place to stay, would 100% come back
