The cabin was built for me to steal away from the house and enjoy the wildlife, quiet, stars and silence. It is too peaceful to keep to myself so come and enjoy all that Norway Maine and the surrounding area has to offer! Learn more about this land: Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. Our camp is on the site of our former organic farm called Cabin Creek Farm overlooking the ocean (a tidal estuary called the pool), where we grew flowers, herbs and veggies. The dirt road takes you to the site above a small farm pond. The setting is a quiet, open blueberry field trimmed by woods. There is a tent platform that measures 11 ft x 19.5 ft. There is a picnic table, 2 Adirondack chairs with a stainless steel “ smokeless fire pit (bring matches). ATTENTION: we do NOT provide firewood! One dog allowed & you must clean up after your pet. You can hike the farm road out back for a mile thru fields & woods. Tick season is here so we strongly recommend you stay on the road. Our location is 1/2 hr from Camden & Rockport; 20 minutes from Rockland; 1/2 hr from Damariscotta; 45 minutes from Bath. Swimming in North Pond available in July & August. There is no lifeguard so you go at your own risk. We are 1 mile from Beth's farm market where you can get fresh produce and excellent strawberry shortcake. Tucked away in the Lake Umbagog wilderness, we are a small privately-owned farm with the wonders of the area surrounding us. Boating and fishing? Check. Hiking and mountain-biking? Check. Swimming and Sailing? Check! All the fun and memories that go with camping and bonfires and outdoor cooking! Check! IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: We are intentionally remote, secluded, and off-grid. We are best accessed by water (1.3 mile paddle or motorboat), with a seasonal (May 15-December 1) 9-mile very rough (4wd) logging access road (minimum vehicle clearance 8in---seriously). For first-time guests arriving by road, you will need to be guided in---the property is impossible to find on your own (no gps, no map). If you arrive by road, please note that you must park (free/overnight/safe/secure) at a narrow trailhead and walk to the lakeside sites about 1/4 mile down the hill. We are happy to help you with your gear and have a couple of wheelbarrows and sometimes an ATV. So unless you want to RV/truck/car camp at the trailhead (definitely an option), it is tent-only camping on the lakeshore and garden sites. Please don't ask if you can drive your vehicle right down to the site---we don't even drive our own down. However you decide to arrive, we are happy to guide you at no extra charge. We do have cellular phone service on site and shoreline but NOT on the logging road in. [There is unfortunately no way for us to make the property accessible for guests who need the use of personal mobility equipment. Also, from experience, we MUST caution those with medical conditions that this is a WILDERNESS location, at least two hours from any medical facilities and very difficult to even medevac.] We have a small fishing boat (paddle only), 1 kayak, 3 mountain bikes, and a canoe for rent; firewood for purchase on site; your choice of spots to pitch a tent or use our raised platform. Come relax on this private 5 acre waterfront escape. A long driveway will open up into a cleared lot. The end of the driveway is a large crushed gravel parking pad which should easily accommodate any RV or trailer (make sure you back in, there's no room to turn around). The pad is mostly flat, but minor leveling on RV's is probably still needed. Site overlooks Flanders Bay which feeds into Mount Desert Narrows. Watch the family of 5 eagles fly back and forth across the cove and bring binoculars to watch them as they perch in nearby trees. The cove is filled with a variety of seabirds and the occasional harbor seal. You will have complete quiet as you listen to the sounds of forest and coastal life.Property is located 11 miles from Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National park and a quick 35 miles from Bar Harbor. From May through mid November, site includes access to a HOT outdoor shower, well water, a working sink with hot water. Water is turned off after November 15th until late spring, weather dependent. We have installed a 50/30 AMP hookup for trailers/RV's - we do charge $15 extra per night for hookups, please coordinate with us at time of booking if you will need power for your camper - There is an electric outlet for small electronics like laptops/phones/coffee pot, site includes a campfire area, lots of open spaces to pitch a tent, and an outhouse. There are several miles of well maintained trails through the deep forest and along the pristine waterfront. This is a secluded conservation area with two remote cabins. The blueberry field was absolutely stunning and a great place to spend a few days. We stayed at site 2 in the middle of the field near the lone tree, and it was awesome, we saw baby turkeys running around, deer, and heard coyotes at night. The stars were the best I’ve seen in my entire life, the Milky Way was as clear as day, and we saw a shooting star literally go across the entire night sky! The blueberries tasted amazing too, we will be making blueberry muffins with some we brought back. We also had the chance to go drive through Acadia and swim at Sand Beach because it was so close, it was awesome. Thank you for an incredible time!

Quiet? You betcha! We were on a level campsite in the middle of acres and acres of blueberries! The road in was rough. Our 21 ft camper trailer made it OK, but a bigger rig might have some difficulties. Our second visit with Lakeisha (online only). Our previous visit was 3 years ago at a difference site. She was responsive and willing to help if necessary - which wasn’t needed. Cute town of Blue Hill has many things and shops to explore.

Great place to have quite and ocean view. Stayed at the Outlook site and did not disappoint! Some of the vegetation was over grown limiting some of the view but extremely minor. All the lower ocean view sites looked amazing! Will definitely return when in the area.

Very clean site, had grill grate and poker, with unlimited wood for our stay. I would recommend this site to anyone! Private. My spot was right on the point, if you position your door just right you will get the sunrise ♥️ I cannot wait to book again!!

Bring what you'll need for light, a camp stove, and bedding, though the host has provided everything else you'll need. My pups loved it too! Not one bark all night.

This was our second trip to Kyle’s gorgeous camp ing area. The water was quite low, but sitting on tubes or on your paddle board works out well. The grounds are gorgeous, green, and great for big groups or big trailers. We also went swimming and paddle boarding at nearby Schoonic Lake, about 30 min away. Kyle is a great host and responds quickly to any questions. Simply stunning area to camp.

Aroostook & the Highlands

Maine’s mountainous north is the stuff that hiker’s bucket lists are made of. The sprawling wilderness of Baxter State Park is the starting point of the epic Appalachian Trail and home to Maine’s highest peak—the 5,267-foot Mount Katahdin. Miles of hiking trails run through the highlands, along with some of the state’s best snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails. Southern Maine Coast

Maine’s only national park, Acadia National Park, is the headline act of DownEast, the state’s rugged and rocky southeastern coast.
