A perfect stopping point during your trip along the Maine seacoast. We are a 22-acre family homestead located just three miles inland from Route 1 and Penobscot Bay in picturesque Belfast. We are also a five-minute drive from Swan Lake, known for its fresh, clean, and deep waters—great for boating, fishing, and swimming. We have two designated overnight parking spots overlooking our little pond. Each spot includes a picnic table and a fire pit. We also have one or two additional spots on a concrete pad, one of which has an RV pole with 30-amp service. Be sure to say hello to our friendly free-range chickens that roam the property. Complimentary fresh eggs will be provided for your breakfast.

Our campsites/parking spots are all level and easy to access. They overlook our brand new pond which is establishing itself in what was the lower wetlands of the property. It is a work in progress that we are thoroughly enjoying. Once established in a year or two it will be a fishing hole for campers to enjoy. We have approximately 20 free-range chickens and a few guinea hens patrolling the property for tasty bugs. They are friendly and also provide fresh eggs for our guest’s breakfasts.

We had a wonderful and very relaxing stay at Dean’s campsite. The property is peaceful, private, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful greenery—the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature. We had plenty of room to set up our gazebo, relax with our little bird, recharge all our batteries, and comfortably use our own camping shower. The chickens wandering nearby added so much warmth and charm to the experience. Six of them came very close to visit us, and it was also our first time seeing quail up close. Hearing the rooster in the morning made the peaceful country atmosphere even more special. Dean was a kind, welcoming, and thoughtful host. On the morning of our departure, he surprised us with a small carton of fresh eggs from his own chickens. That generous gesture truly touched us and made us feel very welcome. This is a newer Hipcamp site, and we are so happy we found it. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable place surrounded by nature near Belfast, we highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Dean, for your hospitality and for sharing your lovely property with us!

This site was easy to find as it was not very far from Belfast, ME. The land was very peaceful and mostly quiet at night on a well maintained property. Dean was easy to work with via messaging. Perfect for a night during my northward travels. Would recommend!

Peaceful Pond Retreat

Peaceful pond retreat near Belfast. Two pristine campsites and an RV power hookup on a concrete pad ensure you’ll never be stuck in a camping crowd. Our VW Eurovan navigated the new gravel dive easily. Dean is very responsive with his communications and a wonderful host. We definitely plan to make this a return spot for a budget friendly quick getaway from home. PS: Say “hi” to a friendly Guinea hen when she visits. 😊

Loved this spot. Enjoyed the free roaming ckickens and guinea hens. Pretty little pond. Quiet for sleeping. Dean the host even boiled some eggs for me. Definitely will visit this host again.
