We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Another great stay at Erica’s place. The location is perfect, with plenty to do nearby. Boothbay has that classic Maine feel — a little quieter and less touristy than Bar Harbor. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are close by and definitely worth checking out.

We loved camping with our little Tab camper at Kyle's slice of heaven! Tons of room, lots to explore - simply fan-freakin-tastic! My only suggestion would be to extend check-out time by an hour or two. Packing up and leaving by 10 really leaves very little chance to enjoy this special spot on the last day. Leaving was painful...and only made better by booking another weekend as soon as I got home! Selfish me doesn't want to leave this review, so I have less competition for booking. Thank you, Kyle, for sharing this beautiful spot with us nature lovers! 😊

Our stay at Kyle's land was relaxing and memorable. The directions to the camping area were super clear. The river access with rocky and sandy beaches was the highlight! Our dog had the time of his life exploring around the site- he wore himself out! The hill beside the site and the river acted as a great border.
The weather was perfect for this time of year- no bugs and warm during the day and cool at night-perfect around the fire. We hope to plan another stay next summer and experience even more playing in the river when it's warmer out!

Good, flat spaces to set up tents. We had no issues with bugs on Labor Day Weekend. Wood was prepared and seasoned for campers to use. Composting toilet allowed a regular comfort. A view to the east provided a nice scene for the sunrises. Google maps helped us get most of the way; the proprietor provided additional written directions to assist us.

The site was clean and the spot that we picked was nice and level, close to the outhouse and kitchen. Yes there's a nicely appointed outdoor kitchen! Erics even went as far to assemble a new fire pit for us and provided tips on whereto hike. Booth Bay was amazing and everything was close to the Hip Camp.

Aroostook & the Highlands
Maine’s mountainous north is the stuff that hiker’s bucket lists are made of. The sprawling wilderness of Baxter State Park is the starting point of the epic Appalachian Trail and home to Maine’s highest peak—the 5,267-foot Mount Katahdin. Miles of hiking trails run through the highlands, along with some of the state’s best snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails. To get on the water, head to Moosehead Lake, or try paddling and backcountry tent camping along the Allagash Wilderness Waterway.
Maine Lakes & Mountains
The hills and valleys of western Maine are peppered with high peaks and hundreds of glacial lakes, affording plenty of opportunities for a back-to-nature camping experience.
