A gracefully designed switchback driveway leads you to a cleared level landing. The spot is elevated nestled in among hardwood trees where you can pitch a tent or park a self-contained RV (No larger than 24'). Due to the switchback design of the driveway, a combination car/truck and towed camper configuration will not work. It's a two minute walk to the neighborhood association dock, 10 minute walk to the open ocean and rugged Maine coastline. East Boothbay is quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. Be sure to stop by East Boothbay General Store for delicious house made breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, pizza, a selection of beers and wine; eat in on the small porch or take away for a picnic. Walk or bike along the narrow quiet road to the ocean where waves are crashing on the rocks. Don't miss the gorgeous sunsets-simply spectacular. Or just relax at the site and enjoy the beauty of the nature that surrounds you where you might spot a deer or hear an owl hooting nearby. It's a short 10 minute drive to Boothbay Harbor for whale and puffin watches, great restaurants, sunset and reggae cruises, and sailing trips. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is another must see-as it's New England's largest botanical garden.This is a 1 acre wooded lot with a switchback driveway that is approximately 10' wide. There are 2 level sites at different elevations to choose from. Samoset Trail is a slow country road with no sidewalk. It's a 2 minute walk to the association dock "Pete's Landing" at Little River and a 10 minute walk to the Atlantic Ocean. There are no hookups at this site so you must be self-contained. Please take all waste with you when you leave and leave no trace.

I only planned for 1 night, but wish I had built in more nights. The site was as described and Kilene was great (giving me a heads up of a potential storm). I took a long walk from the site, enjoying the beautiful landscape and shore. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Awesome little spot! The trees and driveway make it quite private for a residential area. It was not super quiet with construction across the street, but maybe that’s only weekdays. I would definitely stay again if passing through!

It was fine. I was a little confused when I got there because I thought there was supposed to be 2 sites, but I only saw 1, really. There's another parking spot, but I wasn't sure where the property line ends, so I didn't want to camp on someone else's land by mistake. I think it could use a sign at the second site. It was very flat, so that was good, but not soft ground. There's a fire pit and picnic table, so that was nice and the surrounding neighborhood feels very safe and was filled with fireflies, my favorite part

Such a peaceful and gorgeous campsite here. The scenery and access to the dock and beaches truly could not be matched and it is a birdwatchers dream! We had a very relaxing time and would love to return if we ever visited again.

A perfect little spot for camping. Easy access to Boothbay Harbor but away from the hustle and bustle. I lovely paved road nearby for walking to all different water bodies. Well appointed for my rooftop camper. Lovely firepit, just lit enough, responsive host and a slice of Maine scenery for your quiet contemplation. Can you ask for more!

Such an easy, cute little place to stop. Stayed one night, and easily would stay again. The site feels secluded and safe, and has a short walk to the water. The loons calling back and forth in the morning was an added plus! 😊

Beautiful spot and neighborhood. We stayed here for a night on our way up the coast to rest recharge but wish we could have stayed longer. This is a beautiful spot with privacy but close to amenities and town. Great morning walk by the shore and surrounding woods. Host was attentive and welcoming. I hope to make it back again here soon!

We LOVE staying here! The site is nice and wooded/quiet but still easy to access amenities and things you need. It’s nice to have access to Boothbay without being right in the thick of it. Kilene is also a very communicative and kind host, would recommend!

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was exactly what I was hoping for. No wonder it’s a Best of Hipcamp! The wooded site felt private and peaceful, tucked among the trees on a nice level spot. Huge plus- there is 5G cell service at the site. 🙌 ( I know you were wondering) 😬 The host Kilene was very responsive and made sure I had everything I needed. She even had wood, charcoal, and some solar pathway lights set up waiting for me when I arrived. It was such a nice touch. I loved falling asleep every night to the sounds of the ocean waves, and feeling completely safe at the site. Perfect quiet getaway. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back!

Great little site, grass patch was soft enough that I forgot a sleeping mat and slept fine. Met the owners on a walk she was incredibly nice, left us a woodpile and a premade fire for our arrival.

Kilene was an awesome host. We booked in winter and she called us right away to make sure we could get to the site. She was out of town when we booked and even called a local to get a snow report for us before we drove up. The site itself is super private but not too far from town, and there's a nice fire pit we didn't get to use. I'd definitely recommend this place and we'll be staying again.

Great site for camping with our van! Area was clean, directions were clear, and the fire pit with wood was a nice extra touch. Not too far off the highway/away from town and in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with great water views. Will definitely return!

Easy enough to find, nice and level, nice fire pit. Close to local places (food, coast etc) yet no significant noise from the road or anything else. Did not have much interaction with the host so no observations on that point, but we were happy with the campsite!

We loved camping at Kilene's hipcamp site. You feel like you are in the forest nestled in the trees and yet only a short walk or bike ride to the ocean. The fire pit was perfect with plenty of downed wood provided by Kilene. The directions provided were spot on, easy to follow and our host was always prompt to respond to messages. We give it a 10 out of 10!

The camp site was absolutely wonderful! Surrounded by trees of red and brown it was a beautiful site to spend time in. Right around the corner was Boothbay harbor where we rode our bikes and watched the sunset. And the fire pit was a lovely place to end the day. I will definitely be coming back here again! Kilene is a wonderful host and person! Could not recommend more!
