Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living.
"What should I expect my experience to be like?"
Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property.
Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property.
Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.).
Amenities:
For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.
Breakfast: Pancake mix provided in the community kitchen.
Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. PLEASE NOTE: Towels can be rented for $5, or bring your own for free.

PRIVATE waterfront campsite - EXCLUSIVE use!! Eagle View Pines, in beautiful Hiram Maine, is a peaceful and private 2+ acre property surrounded by tall pine trees with 300 feet of Saco River frontage! Guests will enjoy a floating dock for swimming, fishing, and kayaking! Two kayaks and one canoe are on site for guest use. Guests can also enjoy a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, a solo stove for campfires (please bring your own wood) and a hammock for relaxing and watching the eagles flying above as well as the stunning sunsets! We have two winding trails (one to the right of the picnic table and one to the left of the hammock) that lead to points with chairs and stunning views of the water! A small trailer is on site, filled with little amenities from bug spray to binoculars! A 30/50 amp electric hookup is available for your RV or camper (and standard outlets for use if you are tenting!) and our gravel driveway can fit a 30 foot camper. A Porta-potty is available for campers with tents. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them, and leave no trace. Dogs are more than welcome here (please pick up after your pet!), but please note this property sits approximately 20 feet above the riverbank, with natural stairs leading down to the water. This site is not appropriate for very young, unsupervised children.
The Saco river can be unforgiving, and this is an ever-changing site. At any given time, depending on the weather, the water can be high, or low, and this can change the landscape to some extent. We are always making improvements and cleaning the land (cutting dead or fallen trees etc.) so we appreciate your understanding of these rustic qualities!
Hiram is located about 30 minutes from North Conway NH with amazing restaurants and outlet shopping, and about an hour from the coast and Portland Maine. The sweet little town of Cornish is just a 15 minute drive, and Naples and the Sebago Lake area are just a short drive as well! There are several hiking trails nearby. The Mount Cutler Park and Conservation Area is just a 10 minute drive, featuring trails that provide stunning views of Hiram and the surrounding mountains. Or, you can simply go for an evening stroll down the charming, quiet dirt road after your relaxing day on the river!

A unique glamping getaway nestled on a mountainside, 4 miles from Evans Notch, in Chatham, NH.
We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest on 6 acres, behind our home with glimpses of the surrounding mountains through the trees.
Private and tranquil- each tent has a queen sized bed with flannel sheets, a light comforter, and a lantern.
The front porch has two Adirondack chairs looking out over the forest. Each campsite has a fire pit, picnic table, and a cabinet filled with basic cook wear, plates and cups, a French press, kettle, and utensils for making meals over a campfire.

Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!)
There is no running water or bathroom on the property so please bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste! The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan.
Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding. There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked.
Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern.

We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.

Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.
Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Only an 8 minute drive
Keoka lake has a nice beach with a dock to swim too. !0 minute drive

This place is wonderful and so peaceful. The tent is wonderful, super comfortable, and clean. The bedding was soft and warm. And the view was just lovely--especially if you are into star gazing. The yard for each tent is well equipped, well maintained, lots of places to sit and eat. I absolutely loved it. And the bathrooms are immaculate and insanely cute. Look at the pics! There are *plants and books* in there. And Lori the host is lovely too. After ten years of camping in the Whites, I've finally found my spot. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

A group of four of us stayed on Eriks tent site by the the river. Proximity to the river is amazing. Getting to the tent sites is tough (tight trees, stumps, mud)...probably impossible without AWD. keep that in mind if you don't want to haul a bunch of stuff a far distance. The tent site is great for isolation, but the "beach" area is shared with other guests. All of the water related items for use are located quite a distance from the river, so getting the kayaks to the river was kind of a pain, but if you have a truck it makes the stay a lot easier. We had a wonderful time camping even though we got a bunch of rain. 10 mile kayak trip in perfect weather was definitely the highlight.

Camping right outside on the property made the two nights super easy and gave me access to a great mix of alone timer community activities, like cooking meals, and sharing movie night. The hostel staff were also kind and friendly..

This was our second time staying at Sunrise Cabin. We’ve just returned home today and already can’t wait to go back. This farm is incredibly peaceful and makes for a restorative stay. Sandi has thought of everything campers might need to have the comfort of home during their stay and despite the cabins rural location we had every creature comfort. This location allows for all the serenity and privacy you might want and the consideration of hosts who came out during our visit to change a fire alarm battery just to ensure the noise didn’t obstruct our relaxation at the cabin. We brought along our new 4 legged addition to the cabin and Sandi was kind enough to leave a few treats and a doggy towel for him with the upcoming rainy forecast. Both the humans and the k9 on this trip loved taking daily walks on well maintained trails on the property. Couldn’t recommend this stay enough

Easy check-in and great communication from host Kevin. Beautiful field for star gazing, portopotty near the entrance and shared with all four sites. Loved the tent platform near the water and level ground above for a rooftop tent. Great, affordable firewood for sale at the beginning of the road.

This site is SO wonderful! Christine and Tyler have done a fantastic job setting up the property for a fun and beautiful camping experience. Being able to jump into the river or go on canoe rides was a huge plus. We were a bit unsure of the solo stove at first but it might be the best pit I’ve ever cooked on. It’s almost smokeless and creates nice even coals for cooking. Thank you both so much!

It’s a 6 minute paddle to the island- Would suggest bringing a canoe to avoid multiple trips and to pack somewhat light or you’ll have to keep going up to the top of your car and bringing your gear down a hill! Get comfortable pooping in the woods or try to paddle to the porta potty 😆
Quiet overall- loons, frogs, and we did see a few water snakes. Nice area to swim and kayak and just relax and hurkle Durkle for a few nights. Really good spot if you want to bring a doggo as ours was just able to roam and swim all day! We plan to come back.
Make sure you bring propane tank, not a smaller bottle.

Group trip
What an incredible place to stay! Relaxing and well appointed. Andrews has created a remarkable experience for her guests. We stayed the night while en route to Bar Harbor and found that this purple bus had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable evening. We cooked, played games, hung out by the fire and slept well in the spotless and homey bus. 5 stars!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay there. The tent was very clean inside, the bed was pretty comfortable, and the outhouse was really inviting (weird thing to say but true)! There were some dishes and cooking supplies provided, the lantern was a great touch, and the sites were relatively private. I would prefer to have been a bit further from folks, but it totally beats a state park. You can see the other tents, but can't really hear them. The walk from the car to camp wasn't bad at all, and she provides a couple of wagons to load up and bring items to the campsite. There were very little mosquitos up on top of the hill, beautiful sunrises, and Lori is very sweet and will tell you about all the great local spots. Really fantastic general store down the road with great food, too.
